Welcome to the BBS family, Beth. I'm a late comer to the show, having only heard them 3 - 4 years ago. Now, 4 or 5 live performances later I'm a total addict. They've been at it for over 20 years and finally getting the recognition they truly deserve. Listen to the "Whippoorwill" & "Little Bit of Dixie" CD's in their entirety. You will be amazed you hadn't heard of them. They are the best live band out there today. PERIOD.

I’ve seen them 5 or so times and they’re exceptional live but the tedeschi trucks band is a level above live, hearing a 12 piece band live is a transcendent experience

That's the beauty of music Paul. Neither of us are wrong. I saw BBS open for TTB and thought BBs stole the show. It's just what style hits you in the heart.

That was my experience too. Saw BBS open for TTB at the Fox in Atlanta in 2019. I was instantly mesmerized and have now seen BBS 11 times and counting! Still love TTB as well, but something about BBS's song craft and playing just speaks to me.@@stevekelly3138

My little cover band got to open for these guys years ago, right before they exploded. The way Charlie sings is exactly the kind of guy he is. Not many people had ever heard of them yet, but they had a devoted following and it was obvious they were on their way. Most of the guys were genuinely nice people, and we chatted as polite strangers with a common bond. But Charlie treated us like peers.

They are a great band. I discovered them on youtube a few years ago by accident and now I'm hooked. The Whippoorwill album is a perfect place to start. Arguably their finest album.

These guys are great, been following them since 2001 when Jackyl took them out on the road. The 1st album "good luck aint no crime" is hard to find but it is really good. I got my copy the 1st time I saw them in 2001. Great to see where they have gone, they never disappoint.

BlackBerry Smoke is my absolute favorite live band. I'm up to 13 shows and every single one of them is perfect. You could do any video of theirs and it be 100% fantastic. So, please do more!

Been a fan since 2013, absolutely cannot get enough of their music. In a world of autotune and backing tracks these guys are what music, especially live music, is supposed to be.

Man Charlie is phenomenal! They are phenomenal live too. BBS manager actually is originally from my old hometown. Btw, if you haven’t done a reaction to Marcus King “Goodbye Carolina” it’s a song in a similar vein to this. Stunning song and Marcus is a helluva singer!

A few years ago I went on s search for new to me music. The very first name that caught my eye was Blackberry Smoke. I bought the "Whippoorwill" album. JACKPOT. Cannot get enough. Great call Beth. That's why we love you.🤟❤️❤️

Best band in the world, You can’t beat them, I have seen them on small stages, large stages and everything in between! They are from Atlanta, Georgia USA and they are totally awesome! Charlie Starr is a multitalented singer songwriter, not to take away from the other guys like Paul Jackson and the late Brit Turner who passed away recently, sad day for the band Brit had serious health issues and passed away. Listen to all their music, it don’t get much better than Blackberry Smoke if at all!!! ❤ check out “Restless”, “Good One Coming on” “Ain’t much left of me” and many more! Thanks for sharing my boys! ❤

Okay, this video is my new favorite video on RU-vid... It just fits. I love BlackBerry Smoke, this song hits home (big time), I have Scottish ancestors (Clan MacDougall), I adore the country of Scotland and constantly dream of visiting, I could listen to you talk for hours, you're straight up, beautiful.... this is one of the most honest, powerful, sober, and beautiful songs that i've heard, i really love country music because of that genuine and real story telling on his lyrics. I took my 8 year old granddaughter to see this band 2 weeks ago. Charlie is a rippin guitar player and a great singer, this band is fierce onstage and a must see if you have the chance. Sadly, Brit Turner the drummer passed away about a month ago…..

I love the way you went from talking about Charlie's voice to 'feeling' the words of the song. This is exactly what they do. I got hooked to BBS a number of years ago, so much so I went over to see them in 'The Shed' in Tennessee. (I'm from Ireland ) they're on tour 2024, so you'll have a chance to see them first hand, and all their songs talk to you, plus us fans love seeing new fans, we're called 'Brothers and Sisters' btw , because were a family.

I learned of this band a few years ago from a friend and was supposed to visit a concert from them early last year, but it got postponed due to covid. Finally saw them a few months ago and I have to say, their albums are good but their live performance is really amazing. Had a great time seeing them enjoy themselves on stage.

What a great sound...not familiar with these guys..I am now. The song reminds me of my uncle who joined the navy in WW2...not only as a patriot but to get out of his one horse mining town. His father was a miner and he knew he would never be. After the war he went to school under the GI bill...became an engineer.

Have you heard the young ladies from Belfast in the band Dea Matrona? Orlaith Forsythe and Mollie McGinn are amazing musicians and singers. They play classic rock, mostly electric guitars but they do acoustic too and their harmonies are amazing. I would be interested in you checking them out on their original Glory Glory (I Am Free) or their covers of Helplessly Hoping, Homeward Bound, I'll Be Here in the Morning, Love Me Like a Man, You're So Vain or I Feel the Earth Move. Their harmonies are amazing.

BBS should come with a health warning; I started on this song & Charlie Starr (lead everything), with help from the harmonious Paul Jackson & the rest of the Guys, will win your heart on the first hearing! I’m also a singer & vocal coach. They also play the mean delta blues, but in my ears they can do no wrong! I have a ticket to see them in Edinburgh this September. Good performance with great lyrics. The attitude and sentiments are very relatable. It seems true in every nation in which I've lived or spent time. At the same time living in a major metro area and dealing with some of the noxious attitudes found there can be a drag, too.

I grew up as a farm boy in Ohio before hitch hiking to California in 1968. This song resonates deeply with me. Being Irish mostly, with a bunch of Scots and bit of Welsh, I'm a Celt through and though. These boys are probably the same. Good stock for sure...
