By the time I heard Brad Delp sing for the first time, I was a classically trained pianist. And it irritated me how it seemed that none of my peers heard the technical and musical perfection in Delp’s voice the way I did. To listen to your unscripted reaction to hearing Delp for the first time, literally brought tears to my eyes. It validates to me that I wasn’t overthinking or overstating my reaction to Delp’s talent! 💕💕

Saw them in concert at the Sun Dome in Tampa, FL. in 1995. What a crowd! While waiting for the concert to start, we saw a man with greying hair in his' 50's walk in, wearing a Tux. His date was a stunning blonde in a light blue floor length evening gown with a tiara, diamond earrings/necklace and white elbow length gloves. 10 feet behind them, in walked a woman in her 30's wearing a black bustier, leather short shorts, fishnet stockings, thigh-high boots and black leather gloves. In her hand was a silver chained dog leash. This leash was attach to the collar of the man she was leading in. He was wearing black combat boots, black leather pants, a black leather vest (no shirt), spiked leather dog collar and a full head black leather mask with only breathing holes! I told my friends "This Concert just went to the next level"!! The concert was awesome!

THe late great Brad Delp, one of the most outstanding singers of the 70's & 80's. Listen to the studio recording now - painstakingly engineered by the band leader/lead guitarist, Tom Scholz. In his basement. Not kidding. Tom played almost all the instruments on the first album. If he didn't have the right piece of equipment, he built one from scratch. Unfortunately Brad took his own life after battling depression. Rest in peace, sir.

Tom Schulz was blessed to find the perfect singer for the songs he had worked on in his basement for years back in the mid-70s. Tom was a sound engineer for Polaroid and worked on this whole album in a dark basement in Boston and what really shines on this whole album along with Brad's vocals is the production. Don't Look Back along with other Boston songs is double-tracked vocals and guitar to give that great big sound.

This seems to be the studio recording but re-mixed. The bass seems more prominent and the balance is different. Obviously, the crowd was also mixed-in. I've heard them live, and they sounded great all the time, so the others doing vocals in various lineups did a good job.
