This song was the first that I listened of BTS and when I saw this vide I felt in love with them, from this year and today to the future I purple BTS 🎶💜😍
Adam I'm not sure you wanna go down BTS's messed up story line it's a deep hole with no comeback but anywyas, Blood sweat and tears is a song bout the war between Good and Evil, it's about temptation. If you pay attention to the MV you can notice all the green spreading around, Green is linked with Envy and Greed . A drop of green fell into RM's Drink the wax Jungkook licked was green The clouds above Suga's head were green And at the very end when Jimin removed the blindfold, his tears were green As in for Jhope, he's the only one who's able to control himself and not fall for temptation Now that statue is the devil, the devil tempts us to commit evil, in the song V represents the devil whilst Jin at first is confused, he doesn't know which side to take but the he decided to save his friends from evil so he kisses the statue sealing a deal with the devil to go back in time and save his friends from their wrong doings. There are a lot of symbolization and all the colors represent smth but the rest of the story is told in other MVs and all of them are linked together.....it's so messed up but I Hope it helped~~
I will paste my explanation here cuz I want to add some things to urs. blood sweat and tears is based on a book : Demian: The Story of Emil Sinclair's Youth , there is too much about this MV, this is about loss of innocent and giving in the temptation, jin is representing Emil Sinclair and V is Demian, the book is about Emil a young boy going through finding the truth about the world, its about fighting the temptations, there is more theories too, bts has a whole story line which started with I need you original version (19+), jin is the main character of the story line, its about jin trying to save all the boys from misfortunes and death, the story line is still going and jin is suffering for years now :( seeing everyone's death again and again and his own death. another theory about this MV is jin sacrificing himself to save others. that kiss scene has 2 theory behind it , in the book Emil (jin here) kiss Demian (V here) in the hospital which is a important moment for his realization about him being his own tutor in life, since they cant have jin and V really kiss the statue represent V, another theory is the kiss is the deal jin made to save others sacrificing himself and at the of the MV jin face cracks . when the MV first came out ppl linked V's scenes and him representing the evil to him killing his father in I need u, but now I think its cuz V is like the second character after jin, the one who can see what is happening to jin in his dreams, and probably the one whos gonna help jin at the end.
4:05 That word means "a lot" in Korean! The pronunciation is exactly "Mani", but the pronunciation is similar to "money", so many foreigners mistook it for money when they first heard it😂
I think one of the members said the similarly to "money" was on purpose though...since the song touches on the deadly sins (greed being one of them)....BTS does this a lot - puts more than one meaning into the lyrics
"Blood, Sweat & Tears" was inspired by the story and symbolism of the book "DEMIAN" by HERMANN HESSE. The story talks about good and evil, a child who, to have a real vision of the world, has to leave behind childhood and It will begin to account for the temptations that surround it, as well as the materialism that lived before. The music video is full of references to classical Greek and Italian art, but includes multiple allusions to a particular myth. The video puts members in front of Herbert James Draper's painting "The Lament of Icarus." In addition to the images of the wings throughout the video, V is represented jumping from a balcony in front of the painting "Landscape with the Fall of Icarus", attributed to Pieter Bruegel the Elder. Icarus' story is a warning story: his father, Daedalus, made two pairs of feathered wings and wax so that the two could escape from the island of Crete, where they were trapped. Daedalus warned his son not to fly too close to the sun or the wings would melt, but Icarus, euphoric in flight, became too confident and climbed until his wings melted, dropping him into the sea and drowning. As soon as Jin, by kissing the statue (it means evil), he destroys himself. V represents a fallen angel (an angel banished from heaven for his evil deeds and his punishment is to remove the wings leaving a scar on his back) is generally represented as an inverted V. The black-winged statue represents V who would be the fallen angel, metaphorically it is evil.
And I bet ARMY's are checking their bank accounts and looking to make enough money to win it - lol. We all know ARMY's would make offers on that statue.
Just watched (again) a video where BTS imitate each other's part from this MV. RM kissing the statue.... V holding it ... Hilarious and legendary. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5tzEJAbhmio.html
Our genius Jimin made the Melody for this iconic Song, Jin said that in the Bts Fiesta 2017. his BeautiFul Voice and his Facial Expressions made me wanting to know more about him and Bts. And now he is my ultimate BIAS, the Park Jimin 😍
The kiss was jin sealing deal with devil. They all are drowing themselves in greed. They all are becoming devil because if there greed. V is the devil and taking the members to the path of greed. It's hard to explain everything because the story is part of BTS universe and you need to know previous storyline to understand this
basically the mv and lyrics represents the loss of innocence. They are a lot of symbols of this theme shown like the forbidden fruit, the eyes covered and then uncovered, and obviously all the references to the book that inspired it all, "demian" by Herman Hesse. I highly recommend it btw.
The reality is that Jimin owned this concept even when it was meant to be for Jhope and jk to stand out. He doesn't have too many lines or screen time or center time even when he's lead singer and main dancer, and still this is bts most iconic era thanks to him, he just needed 5 seconds of intro to get everybody in love.
Aw I love this song mélodie by Jimin this is the most successful song I adore this song Jin thanks Jimin for this beautiful melody 💕💕💕 nd all the members ❣️❣️❣️ Jimin voice like usual angel nd unique 💕💕❣️❣️❣️💝💝💝 his dance super nd true Jimins voice so good
It's confusing if you don't know the storyline. BTS has a complex storyline running through the majority of their mvs as well as a a webtoon called Save Me. It's an alternate reality which is ongoing in the bangtan universe. It's very interesting if you ever want to check it out. This was an amusing reaction. Please react to Jin and V singing It's Definitely You.
You looks so confuse watch their mv lol .. BTS have their whole storyline trough out their mv.. And still going until now.. (Bangtan Universe) I wonder, would you react to their debut song 'No More Dream'? 🤔
I am their fan simce last 5 yrs and still couldn't understand the storyline amd he wants us to explain it to him in the comment section ... How...!? 😂😂😂
@@소나-l4r i know right? I watched all the BU MV, read webtoon, explanation, etc, but still confuse.. And now the Smeraldo Twt tell us to choose A or B everyday..
@@noorulwarakhan4852 from what i know, we have to choose what the boys should do, for example when tae see jin walk away, we have to choose A : Tae should follow jin or B : let him go.. Something like that.
I know - this is confusing. There are a couple of explanation videos (XCeleste and Bookish Theories) that might help. Remember, this is the era when RM was reading Damian by Herman Hesse so this MV deals with temptation and growing up. Just, check out Bookish Theories. She explains it so much better.
welcome to the Hidden face of bts. to bangtan universe. all bts videos contain Contains Clues to a greater or lesser extent about their hide history. this video largely contains it. This video is inspired by Demian book using his story to Explain theirs
4:56 Adam: Okay, this is like dark stuff here. Me: Just wait for it.😏😉 After some time: *Adam's* *reaction* *to* *the* *kiss* *scene* Me: (Dies with laughter.) Btw, I would love to see your reaction to their storyline from the start till now. I know that it would be too much to handle,🤣 so you can just react to the Webtoon; "SAVE ME".
It was time he reacted to BS&T Ahhh, I laughed so hard when I saw the thumbnail, Can't wait to see how he'd react to jinie kissing the statue, it's an iconic shocker scene
This MV is based on the book "Demian" by Hermann Hesse, it's basically about dualities such as good and evil. It's a black hole really, you need to watch a lot of stuff related to the wings era to get it.
Every mv they always contain a lot of meaning and invite us to interpret it. I'm still waiting for your reaction to the songs. Your Eyes Tell, Stay Gold n 10,000 Hours. I know you must like the songs
blood sweat and tears is based on a book : Demian: The Story of Emil Sinclair's Youth , there is too much about this MV, this is about lose of innocent and giving in the temptation, jin is representing Emil Sinclair and V is Demian, the book is about Emil a young boy going through finding the truth about the world, its about fighting the temptations, there is more theories too, bts has a whole story line which started with I need you original version (19+), I dont think u want to dig into bts story line so I will explain it. jin is the main character of the story line, its about jin trying to save all the boys from misfortunes and death, the story line is still going and jin is suffering for years now :( seeing everyone's death again and again and his own death. another theory about this MV is jin sacrificing himself to save others. that kiss scene has 2 theory behind it , in the book Emil (jin here) kiss Demian (V here) in the hospital which is a important moment for his realization about him being his own tutor in life, since they cant have jin and V really kiss the statue represent V, another theory is the kiss is the deal jin made to save others sacrificing himself and if u saw the MV till the end jin cracks at the end of the MV.
This MV and song is basically based on a novel named Damian by Herman Hesse published in 1919. It is basically about temptations. Jin is like a protagonist here who has a responsibility over other members. In the start when Jin is looking at a painting itself is by Pieter Brueghel and is called "the fall of the rebel angels". It represents that Jin is basically confused between good and evil. In this story, Jin tries to dissuade all of his members (angels) from evil, but some members are already lost. (In the frame where they are sitting on the sofa you can see 7 chandeliers, two of which are broken on the floor). Each respective member has their own role and story line, but that takes too long to explain in detail. The most important roles are those of V, Jin and Jhope. V is supposed to represent an angel who is already on the evil side, a kind of Lucifer. Jhope represents exactly the opposite, namely the completely good. Jin, on the other hand, is in the middle. And since Jin doesn't know exactly where he belongs, his angels fall into confusion and gimmicks such as the absinthe at RM, or that Jimin's eyes are continuously covered. The entire video is packed with symbols. The last frame with the flowers, for example: a lily for good and the purple flower for evil. Jin reflection shows the other side of him.The story dissolves the moment Jin kisses the statue. The statue stands symbolically for evil and also for V, who embodies it. At that moment, Jin finds out that not only can he belong to one side, but that both the good and the bad belong to him. Later in the mirror he sees the "bad" part of himself that still belongs to him. It also represent BTS universe story in which Jin has to save all of his friends. But to understand that you will have to start from their music video I need you. Also interesting is the quote that RM quotes when the music stops: "He too was a tempter, he too was a link to the second. The evil world with which I no longer wanted to have anything to do" ( Damian by Herman Hesse). Unfortunately, you missed another quote. It is a German quote from Nietzsche and it is on the wall in a frame at the end where the music starts again after Jin's kiss. "You have to have chaos to give birth to a dancing star" To explain this quote alone, I would need 3 pages. It is from Nietzsche's book "So spoke Zarathustra" Basically it is about the human being leaving his "humanity" behind and becoming a "superhuman". That means he has to leave all human pleasures behind. So if a person still has "chaos", he can overcome it and become a "superhuman". The story is too complex. it is also a part of BTS universe and to understand it completely you will have to start from their song I need You MV. philosophy I hope it helped. I love your reactions.
RU-vid: 1 view Also RU-vid: 10 likes me: wtf anyways, the reaction was very good... you made a lot of points, especially the part where v and jin don't really have that many lines here, so yeah.
jin actually doesn't have any lines in this song technically. i'm pretty sure he shares one line with jimin at some point but that's basically it. it's really unfortunate; bts have said before to trust them on the line distribution, but i can't help wishing they would have found a way to integrate him more into the song :/ him and taehyung used to get way less lines than the rest of the group, but thankfully it's gotten a bit better now
I think despite them saying that, there are actually a few proofs that suggest the one who made the final decision regarding aspects of their music is actually Bighit... :((
big hit try to balance the members popularity and the attention they gets. but there is some songs that are unfair to some members, like this for jin, spring day to jhope, spine breaker for jimin, fire for V and ... this happens the most to jin and V, maybe cuz they are the visuals and already has their faces to attract ppl :|
Yep... That was the era where the most lines Jin got was on his own solo song... And somewhat Lost, but he had just about the least on every group song of the Wings Album... It's gotten better, thankfully, but still... I wish they could be fairer...
the mv is a countinuation of storyline in the the Bangtan Universe, all the mvs are realated to the fictionnal world of BTS and it is really an amazing story ,, this song is a legend
This was exactly their vibe in those days. These boys had rap over rap over rap comebacks. 💚 and other beautiful gems. J hope doing the harmony. Suga my bias is of course rapping.
OMG imagine Adam getting into The BTS universe and their storyline....that will be some interesting content. There are a lot of Biblical references and Greek mythology references.
That is one of my favorite BTS's Music Videos. This song is also great. It seem like a elegant Masterpiece. Specially this choreograpgy is very unique, not like anothers. I also love all their choreography, but it looks more beautiful when it was harmonized with the interior of the M.V sets. They R just amazing boy band. Speechless!
HAHAHHAHA OKAY HIS FACE WHEN JIN KISSED THE STATUE HAHAHAHSHAH IM SORRY AHAHAHAHAH BTS Universe it’s really complicated and hard to understand, it’s based on books and it’s kinda dark but really cool, honestly I’ve been ARMY for a while and I still don’t understand completely the universe they created
This music video makes reference to the book of Damion and deals with themes such good versus evil, the loss of innocence, giving into temptation. Very very deep and full of symbolism!
I saw you were soooo confused 😂 BTS's MVs has a story line... And those things that happened, actually mean sth... If you see the mv explanation you find out what it meant 😁 💜💜💜💜
bts's videos are intertwined in a long chain of theories that seek to tell a story. In this video you can appreciate more these theories. For this video and for their album Wings, they were inspired by Demian, Hermann Hesse's book. "The person leaves his innocence and enters the dark of this world."
I love your bts reactions could you react to no more dream live dance break? You haven't reacted to their older songs yet. It's their first song and it's a really good live
I laughed so much from your reaction at the jin/v part hahahha I was confused when I watched it the first time too:) and then i rewatched the video three thousand times later, because my brain just couldn't catch all the symbols and story that was created... I had to watch an explanation video :( Hope you will upload the uncut version! Thanks for the reaction! ps. bts did react to this MV themselves and it was very funny :) you should have seen it!
ATTENTION ARMY: We will all be watching BTS perform Dynamite on VMAS but ONLY their segment and nothing else to show them our love and support and to boost the ratings so high to show the demand for BTS. And then after they finish performing we will all leaving to drop ratings to show the power of BTS and Army. Spread the word, BORAHAE
Mr. Adam, there is a kpop male group called Seventeen. Try to hear their song too. Fyi, almost all of their songs they composed by themselves and BTS's agency acquired their agency too. I would like to recommend you a few of theirs: Adore U (their debute song) Pretty U Don't Wanna Cry Campfire Pinwheel Second life Lie again Smile Flowers Thanks 24/7 Clap Hit Fear My My I Wish Left and Right Don't listen Hug Habit Simple I hope you enjoy to their song. P.s. I'm sorry for the long comment
Never been so early so i'll take my chance: since you finally reacted to all my favorite bts songs, please check out other dope korean vocalists such as Dreamcatcher, Mamamoo and Ateez. Thank you, love you Adam xx
if you like the way they harmonise with the rap, you should listen to them perform outro:wings live, jungkook and j-hope do the most amazing harmony it gives me goosebumps every time!
I agree with Danissa Bermejo!!! Please react to these songs right here. The vocals are on point and just insanely crazy 1. Your Eyes Tell 2. Stay Gold 3. Still With You (JK) 4. 10000 Hours (JK)
A huge part of their MV appeal, aside from the cinematography, is the BTS Universe Storyline. It’s deep and complex and really forces you to think on another level. Don’t go down that hole unprepared 😂
hahahaha this song is a part of their Bangtan Universe (BU)! Lol Bighit and bangtan have incorporated fictional storyline for some of their songs and you might not want to fall down this rabbit hole! hahahaaha it will take a while but if you do, if will be so much fun and it will make more sense if you watch the music videos that are related to the BU!
I wish that someone would tell me WHO are the creative individuals that design the music videos that become the BTS videos, because the story lines, the set designs, and the symbolism combined with the lyrics and music are so satisfying that I feel that I spent a day at a major museum enjoying visual art after watching one BTS music video. This is so different from seeing MV's in the 80's!!! I was so unimpressed with the early MV's that I scolded my own brother for participating, for free, in an MV with Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney....He was so happy,at the time!.aargh...but, I did apologize to him...after I learned that MJ and PM, stood up and sang Happy Birthday, as a duet, to my brother , a cappella, at a restaurant in Buellton ,California.Yeah, that was better than day's wage.Best Birthday... I get to tell my brother, now.
Hey I love your reactions! I'd love if you reacted to Your eyes tell, which is a Japanese original produced by Jungkook. It's a beautiful song and you'll appreciate the studio and live performances. Additionally, the song is evenly distributed between members, so you get to hear each voice pretty well too! Jungkook did a great job!
Perhaps it’s because you pay more attention to vocals and the songs you’ve listened to but it’s not weird at all for the rap to be within the first minute in BTS songs as the rappers generally take on the verses in many of their songs. It’s only within the past few years that they’ve included more vocal heavy verses.
The song is based of Herman Hesse's book "Demian" that, tldr, explores the aspects of good and evil as well as temptation. My interpretation of the statue scene is that Jin (protagonist here) made a deal with the devil with a kiss and V is supposed to represent the devil (fallen angel who lost his wings) as well as temptation. Also maybe they made him kiss a statue cuz kissing his bandmate would be awkward and controversial lol. Edit: I forgot to mention that during the intro, Jin is intensely staring at a painting called "the Fall of the Rebel Angels" which depicts a fight between good and evil, as Lucifer rebels against God.
