Personally, I think this is the absolute very BEST version of Amazing Grace that I've EVER heard in my ENTIRE life & I'm old. Dan Vasc has a God given talent. He sang this song asit was meant to be sung... with respect, passion, emotion & finally with a powerful impact. Simply beautiful & amazing!!! God bless Dan Vasc for sharing his talent & this video with the world! 💕🎶✝️🎶💕

The harmonica was a gift from his father when he was 7 years old. His father passed away maybe 6 or 7 years ago. It's quite special to Dan.

Dan's a Christian, Methodist. His Mother was an Opera Singer & they sang together in the Church Choir. His Dad was a Musician who Loved Elvis. Dan's Best Friend was his Dad. He passed away from Cancer 6-7 years ago. Dan went into a 2 Year Deep Depression. This song shows the emotion of God's Grace bringing him back to life. You should hear his American Trilogy. He recorded it soon after his Dad's death to honor him. He has a hard time keeping it together. He was so young looking. He started working out,eating healthy to help with his Depression. He said in an Interview there's a family video of him singing before he could even talk properly. He is Classically Trained & taught Voice Lessons to help pay his way through College. He ,also, served in the Brazilian Military. He's now my Favorite singer of all time. He's Beautiful inside & outside. Dan the Man!❤

For extra heart, that harmonica he played was a gift from his late father.

I first heard this amazing talent sing this song a few months ago. I immediately searched for every song he's recorded for RU-vid. I've never heard Amazing Grace sung better and I sent it far and wide to friends and family all over the world. I am his big fan - and, at 80, probably his oldest! 😄 I wish him every possible success! Thanks for your comments to send his talent even further.

Fun fact about that harmonica. It was his father's harmonica. His father gave it to him when he was a kid and that's what sparked Dan's interest in music. By playing it here he's thanking his father.

I've heard it probably 50 times now, and lose my breath and tear up every single time. But then again I'm a life long Christian and this version hits HARD.

Dan is the man!! Never have I heard a more beautiful and masterful performance of this old timeless hymn! And I grew up in church. My father was a Pastor (still is at age 78!) THIS Dan Vasc version became my favorite version of AMAZING GRACE two days ago, as soon as I heard it.

You may not have gotten a favorite version of Amazing Grace from anyone because it may not exist. Dan Vasc totally blew our socks off with this incredible performance. I do believe he is the best singer/artist that I have heard and have not seen anyone even come close to his vocal abilities. I loved your reaction to Dan's performance - was great to see how moved you were by his singing, as we all have been - I'm now subscribed... I discovered Dan's channel in early 2020 at the start of Covid - heard 'Toss a Coin to Your Witcher' first then 'Song of the White Wolf' and had the same jaw-dropping, ear-to-ear smile -- was totally blown away... His songs saved me during those dark times. ... Dan is Brazilian - native language is Portuguese. His dad gave him the harmonica when Dan was 7 (his dad passed away from cancer about 5 years ago).... Dan is genuine - he puts his whole soul into everything he sings and has incredible control as you've experienced. So many incredible covers (200+) for you to enjoy and react to --- Gethsemane, My Mother Told Me, any of his Evanescence songs, Nightwish songs, 'I'll make a man out of you', Handel's Messiah (all parts), even opera (see Nessun Dorma). Just a fantastic singer and good guy. Do more of his covers and enjoy!!

I've watched many reactions to this video. Probably watched it upwards of 100 times. Dan Vasc is awesome. This version is phenomenal. The beginning sounds like a man signing alone in a church. The build. His passion. You can feel it. It does sound like different singers. You are right on so many things. The power and conviction of the last verse continuing thru the key change ending with the softer more personal tone.....his breath control.....I don't usually enjoy it so much when a video is stopped multiple times during the reaction (dunno why so much lol) but yours, ma'am, I did. This version is Incredible. Dan gives us his 200% , the Passion he sings with along with elevating the Lyrics so they Touch Your Soul, as they are meant to.

His cover of the Elvis Trilogy is so touching , it was a dedication to his father . His father passed a few years ago and he expressed threw his voice and emotions his tender feelings. At the end of the song he shares a picture of he and his Dad when he was a little boy. As you explore this young man it's amazing. He too in his own right , is a vocalist. He earned his living during his journey teaching young children to sing. I'm a 70 year old Grandma and have enjoyed discovering Dan's Wonderful story . His brother Davi is one of the magnificent guitar players you hear . It was a pleasure to hear your Thoughts. Enjoy !!!

I am an Australian and LOVE Dan Vasc, I actually have his RU-vid channel playing all day on my TV in my lounge and also my Bedroom, it just loops, and I now have my cleaner addicted to him as well. He is a complete time waster because he is gorgeous and absolutely amazing, just wish he would do a tour and visit Australia.

Dan Vasc was trained to sing Opera so he has very good vocal control of his voice. He's been doing music for most of his life and has spent the last 10 years doing both original and covers of songs on his channel. Most of us are still scratching our heads about why he isn't signed with a major label yet, but his time is coming we have no doubt. You should look up his cover of Sound of Silence... Its amazing to listen to.

That nosal resonance is quite rare for him. He make himself not do that and most can’t hear the metal coming at the begining. Thank you very much for your explanations, I'm not a vocal coach, but have been singing a lot in my younger days, and it was so nice, to hear almost every little nuance explained. But what was also really nice, was how you allowed yourself to be touched. I could see exactly when that happened. It's so beautiful when people are touched in their soul, and believe me, Dan can really do that, a LOT - listen to his American Trilogy, Sleeping sun, Son of Pain, All i need, My immortal - the list goes on and on. His range is phenomenal, from his deepest to his highest note, i wouldn't be surprised if he spans over 5 octaves, and he masters everything from the gentlest softest notes to the deepest most fierce growls and roars, to the highest screams and clear falsetto. It would really be wonderful to hear your reactions to more of his stuff, because many other vocal coaches have reacted to this, but yours was by far the best and most descriptive. Again, thank you.

Daniel Vasconcelos (Vasc), had both contempory and classical singing lessons but just natural instinct and abilty. He just knows this is where he belongs and was born to do. He was even a singing teacher giving him more insights. Band singing front for Fearless. Dan is the most overlooked but overwhelming talent out there.

Don doesn’t only do metal, he covers lots of different music. His voice has sooooo much range, his talent has no limits.

I loved watching YOU watch HIM !!! When he went into his METAL voice you were literally just about to break out into tears. Your lips were tightening, your eyes were so intense !!!! As a EMT and surgical assistant I’ve seen faces about to cry. Eyebrows, cheeks, nose and area around your lips redden ! If I could see your arms I’d bet your hair was a standing straight up. I’m not a Metal fan however Dan has one of the best voices I’ve heard in a very long time. I too was impressed. I can carry a tune well enough to lead sing in church. I do also have a percussion , native flute and art background. I WISH I could have developed a better, stronger vocal instrument. When I add volume I cough and can not broadcast. We had bag pipes playing this at my father in-laws funeral bless his soul march this year. I only discovered this amazing entity of a singer the last 2 days, had I known this person before, I would have played this first before the bag pipes procession. This is the first video I’ve seen on your channel, and I’m an instant fan. I’m not “music literate” and hope to learn from you. If you’ll excuse the lack of technical jargon, what I like about this version of the song (I’ve listened to Dan’s rendition before) is that he holds the notes (did you say “phrases”?) without dropping to lower notes at the end. He doesn’t use tricks to help him transition from one note to the next-he just makes the jump. It’s so beautiful.
