I am the honest vocal coach! I have been teaching for 15 years and been singing since I was 16. I teach from my own studio and also teach and mentor via email, and online via Live & Skype. I specialise in teaching children, and teenagers pop and musical theatre but I am trained in all genres of music. But please, do what Dough Bennett wrote, do it yourself, record it and let others record you from different angles (for different sound quality to prove you didn't upload a montage), upload it on YT and link it here. Females are physiologically equipped to sing those high notes. The fact that a guy can even "battle" against them... Dimash should be given 10 extra points just for breaking physiological boundaries 😄. But if you included dimash's low notes, there would be no battle at all.

@@Love_Lara well that's true. Still, his speaking voice is deeply masculine, so it takes constant training to maximise or use those longer vocal cords correctly. Meaning he was born with those vocal cords, but if he didn't train constantly/properly, he wouldn't sound as good.

Dimash would have to win this one for me because he's a man, the others are women. To even be able to hit those notes is huge, much less make them beautiful. I would have LOVED to hear him sing live with early-mid 90s Mariah. That would have been insane!

Dimash is out of this world!! I was glad that Nicole was recognized for the talent she is. I've heard many dismiss her, but she's phenomenal. Her Evita performance shows that not only can she sing, she can convey emotions beautifully as well.

U do know the original video was made just to try to put dimash above them all💀💀 most of the performances from the others couldve been much better. They put Mariah carey who rarely uses headvoice and then out of MANY great Whitney vocals they put a quick Bb5💀

Without taking merit to the female singers, Dimash is a 25 year old man so in my opinion is way more impressive and he alone was "fighting" to the female singers, so he deserves the win of the battle :)

The highest note battled is F6. Try putting Dimash's D8 in there, 10 points for him. 5 for reaching and 5 for sustain. (4 secs, give or take)

There are several things I don't agree with. for example saying Leona's clip with a tensed tongue and jaw was better, or calling a pop vocal better just because it's a pop vocal instead of a classical one that is more sustainable for the voice and also sounded more clear and healthy... However, all of these female singers are phenomenal :) But it's less impressive for a female singer to do that than for a male singer (who can even also sing lower than the bass range btw). And he can, hands down, do soo many things the others (even though they're aabsolutly (!!!) great, can't, he really is immensely skilled. :) And... Dimash deserves all the praise he gets :) Most voice teachers call him best singer in the world, and he absolutely deserves it. His vocal precision and control, his breath control and management, vocal agility, range, tonal consistency across the range, seemless transitions, his versatility and large array of different techniques, styles and vocal colors is unparalleled. :) Also he sings in almost all musical genres, sings in 14 different languages (and excellently knows how to adapt his placement and embouchure in each one) and is also excellently trained, he for example has university degrees in both classical and contemporary music, with major in vocal. So, yes, he is really extraordinary and deserves all the praise he gets :) Dimash's overall skill is really not comparable :)

You are much too reasonable and well-informed for this "voice teacher". Whenever she reacts to anything with Dimash Kudaibergen's name in the title, either pass it by or just click on the video, hit pause (so it doesn't increase the view count) and give it a dislike. It's one of those things you don't even need to watch to know exactly what she's going to say.

@@hadisha4432 why should she not support it? of course it was supported. But what does that have to do with the tongue tension? Or tension in general? The tongue movements are not shaking, but intentional, controlled up and down movements of the tongue. I don't know why she did it, to fake the vibrato or if it's just a bad, unhealthy habit, but it was intentional... and no, your tongue does generally not "shake" due to vibrato, no matter how strong the vibrato is. And you are not supposed to "create" vibrato with what organ ever but it comes automatically with a correct technique and relaxed vocal cords. You are not supposed to force vibrato, which is not healthy. When you sing a vowel, the tongue shall be flat in the mouth and not moving like that. Leona is a GREAT singer, I love her. It's just not true that this was a good tongue placement

Lol the girls have a 'harder' job when hitting the notes in 'popstyle' but not a word that Dimash is the only GUY in this battle :) But its interesting to watch the differences, what I love more about Dimas' high notes is that they sound less screechy , more "full" yet 'light' .

You're for sure not the only one 😊 but I thiiink that most here know him already. He's from Kazakhstan and became internationally known 2 years ago, with 22, when he participated on the biggest Chinese talent show. This was his audition: (He has the biggest vocal range in the world (A1 - D8, he can sing lower than the lowest notes of the bass range and more than 2 octaves higher than the highest notes of the soprano range (which is even higher than musical instruments can play), he's immensely skilled and called best singer in the world by numerous experts, he sings in almost all musical genres and in 14 different languages, he plays 11 different instruments and has university degrees in classical music and contemporary music (pop, jazz) and is also a songwriter) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JEz1qGS0T1Q.html

To be honest: I don't see the sense in giving someone the point FOR applying a pop technique instead of a more healthy classical bel canto technique. Especially considering the fact that the pop one didn't sound very clear.

I couldn't agree more! She's the first person I've heard to say that a classically trained voice that uses proper technique is not better the "pop" singer in this case Mariah. We all know what happened to her voice!!!

Thaaat was really weird. Every single vocal coach I know favors bel canto, because it's more advanced and more sustainable for the voice. She already did the same thing in the Cristina Ramos battle, she said that she personally preferred the pop style... and she seems to be a big Leona Lewis fan

Where's the sustained E6 of Dimash from ogni pietra ??? Really? How unfair. I am sorry to say this again. Pit the women and do any number of battles you want. Tats equal ground. Why do you always drag Dimash and try to compare notes? He has enough haters. You can listen to his songs and analyse them honestly. Any day, when a man is compared on his pitching and notes with the women, what does that mean?

It seems to me that, firstly, it is not right to compare a man and a woman, and secondly, these comparisons are very subjective, because they depend on the selection of videos. For example,you can find the performances of Dimash, where he uses his range more enchantingly, but you can find where it is more ordinary. And finally, there are different styles that the author himself understands, and comparing them is also the last thing. My opinion is that it is better to do the reactions of each artist separately, you do not need to compare artists, because they are artists, because they are all different.

Dimash is in a League of his own . This comparison to me is really silly. But what it does is show how extremely talented he is . it's not all about his high notes. It's his TOTAL package .. and Not everyone up there has it in my opinion . They may have a Great voice ? Off topic: I love your promo pic for your singing course. You look so lovely in it, the big curls suit you so perfectly :) On the topic XD I don't really understand the reason in giving a pop singer the point because she is a pop singer. Bel canto is the most renowned singing technique, it's kind of the queen among singing techniques. Bel canto is not a disadvantage, it's an immense plus. And I don't agree that pop singing is more difficult... pop singing can be learned more easily and above all takes less time as learning to become a bel canto singer. Bel canto is also more sustainable for the voice. And Mariah's vocals didn't sound really healthy to be honest. I heard she has nodules, maybe this was the reason... But I don't understand how you can say pop singing is better than bel canto singing (and you must have meant "better" to some degree, otherwise you can't give someone the point in a question whose vocals were better). It's not a big deal actually, I just don't understand it :) And I wonder: If you contrarily to other voice teachers prefer pop over bel canto in a way that makes you give someone a point for being a pop singer, then why do you make a "battle" between pop singers and a bel canto singer? :) Would have maybe been better to compare pop singers with pop singers and bel canto singers with bel canto singers. I guess I can imagine that for a classical singer it would be easier to hit that note with head voice because of training, and hitting it pop-style would be harder if he wasn't trained that way. So it would also be harder for a pop singer without classcal training to hit that note classical-style?

Plus it takes much more time to acquire an advanced bel canto technique in the first place. Then this would be a battle between Mike Patton and Dimash lol (But Mike can't sing notes higher than the bottom of the 5th octave, his highs are false cords screams). But would be interesting... a neoclassic bel canto trained singer vs a heavy music vocal experimentalist lol would be entertaining. But both sing in several different languages, Dimash in 14 and Mike in 6, so could even let them battle in different languages lol And both sing in various different genres

@@hadisha4432 Also here for you: why should she not support it? of course it was supported. But what does that have to do with the tongue tension? Nothing. Or with tension in general? The tongue movements are not shaking, but intentional, controlled up and down movements of the tongue. I don't know why she did it, to fake the vibrato or if it's just a bad, unhealthy habit, but it was intentional... and no, your tongue does generally not "shake" due to vibrato, no matter how strong the vibrato is. And you are not supposed to "create" vibrato with what organ ever but it comes automatically with a correct technique and relaxed vocal cords. You are not supposed to force vibrato, which is not healthy. When you sing a vowel, the tongue shall be flat in the mouth and not moving like that. Leona is a GREAT singer, I love her. It's just not true that this was a good tongue placement

My personal ranking (and this is ooonly based on the clips here 😊 I know that all of them can do so much more): 1.) Dimash (we did not only see 1 clip from him but many and aaall for them are excellent. Plus he even seems to be a bel canto singer, aaand he is a guy after all ;) it's not really special for a female singer to be able hit a 5th or 6th octave note) 2.) Ariana 3.) Sohyang 4.) Nicole Scherzinger 5.) Cristina Ramos 6.) Beyoncé 7.) Whitney 8.) Leona (I don't know what she exactly did there, but this is absolutely not what your embouchure is supposed to look like while sustaining a note. I didn't see it well enough, but it was either some rather weird kind of fake vibrato/gospel jaw, or simply tongue tension. When you sing a vowel, your jaw and tongue are supposed to be relaxed and for a vowel that means for the tongue lying relaxed and flat on the bottom of your mouth) 9.) Mariah (that was not clear, that sounded rather "gravely" and a little unhealthy) 10. Christina Aguilera (But once again, this is only based on the clip, aaand it doesn't make "a lor of" sense anyway to compare singers by simoly comparing a few random notes lol plus a clip comparison can only be as objective and fair as the person who chose the clips)

Leona clip is neither gospel jaw or tongue tension. She used her larynx to use vibrato and she deliberately moves her tongue up and down as her singing style. Her note was well support and maybe the most resonance out of all females on this list. If she had tongue tension, her head would be tilted way up more like when Ariana is singing.

I would like to see a full comparison with Nicole on high notes because they both can sing opera and for both is their best kind of singing. He was born gifted because his range, I don't think there's any european or american male singer that can go that higher with great support maybe it's an hormones fact too

Hello people! I think this whole competition is extremely offensive to all the singers in it! It's crazy to compare them for viewing because it's simply unworthy of them! All the artists in the video, without exception, I appreciate and respect for their art! All of them are wonderful talents, and by no means is this lucky comparison. Surely everyone is a dearer artist than others and that's fine! But I think that because I love one better, the other will not be less talented !! There's only one thing to gain from arguing with each other about who's better at the best: who made this video! It makes no sense. Let us honor all the artists we love by putting an end to this debate. They are all excellent and everyone has one that is even better em My respect for everyone!
