It's true. Person made this video to compare each note and that was the sole purpose of the video from what I can tell. It really shouldn't be taken seriously but more so to admire both of them, at least that's the way I see it :)

definitely, men belting soprano notes dosen't sound great most of the time lol, just because it's technically decent and sounds impressive dosen't mean it's musically pleasing. he sounds tight and squeezed in most high belts

Perhaps he has a wider range but he is simply not Mariah Carey, she is capable of changing the texture of whistles in so many ways from breathy to metallic, brighter sound or a more shrouded one, he sometimes tries but is not as effective so most of his whistles always sound the same, Mariahs lowest note is F2 and his is D2 and considering that Carey is a woman proves her vocal prowess. Even more Dimash lacks 5 more things that Mariah excels at and Dimash doesnt just to name a few. 1. Mariah Carey writes and produces all of her music and she is also an actress and director, Dimash relay on covers mostly and a few original songs. 2. Since Mariah produces her music every note used serves a purpose and is not showing off , they are in charge of conveying an emotion like exaltation, despair, love, hurt, abandonement, empowerment etc or create a background ambience, never overdone is tasteful yet Dimash is famous for oversinging, people get excited because of the range but he is not able to effectively deliver the lyric unlike Mariah that is famous for self help songs like Hero, Can't take that away, Through the rain and many more where you can find thousands of people around the World of different ages claiming that her music has saved their lives because of suicidal thoughts brought by bullying, abuse of any kind or comma patients remembering sounds like Hero being played in their hospital rooms. 3. Mariah Carey's voice is beautiful, she has a beautiful tone, you can learn to sing, extended your range, work on pitch but tone is something that cannot be taught, you are born with it and that's why her whistles never ever sound strident regardless of the vowel used and her lows are warm and dark, her tone starts in a dark sound and as it ascends becomes brighter but never strident and Dimash has a more bright sound overall even though he is a man. 4. Mariahs voice is infused with a gospel and soulful sound making her an even more versatile singer. 5. When it comes to whistle Mariah treats those runs not like simple frequencies showing off range and that's the reason why her whistles always fit in her songs perfectly and like I said they serve a real purpose in the song. 6. Mariah Carey is a trendsetter, she is the creator of music's modern sound where singers like Ariana Grande, Nicky Minaj, Rihanna or Beyonce take advantage of this accomplishment. 7. His repertoire is not relatable unlike Mariahs where she flies with a powerful ballad into a Gospel song, back to ballads then Hip Hop or RnB, pop and she is also a good rapper, listen to Busta Rrhymes 2021 son Where I belong where she is towards the end rapping as fast as he is without hesitation. Although I respect Dimash as an outstanding inventive vocalist but in encase both in the range that Carey possesses (F2mto Bb7)she can do everythinng Dimash does and maybe even more she is capable with amazing diction to enunciate complete phrases in whistle so he is a suuuuper talented vocalist without a doubt he is not a composer or songwriter making Mariah Carey a superior musician because range is not everything, Mariahs dynamics are very complex. Mariah Carey is an artist and that's why Guinness World records names her The Songbird Supreme. Whe she passes aways she will leave behind an invaluable a legacy where she showed her true musical identity despite the odds shaping modern music, and although Minnie Ripperton used her whistle before Mariah appeared on the scene is Mimi who popularized its use across different genres,songwriting skills that placed her in The Songwriters Hall of fame, musical intuition seen in her production skills and overall also one of the best vocalists out there with her crazy technique and knowledge on how to use all of her resources in a second if a mistake is made, as of right now if Dimash passes away he might be remembered as a great vocalist with a wide range but no true legacy, we have women like Georgia Brown whose highest note is a D10 and Dimashes is a D8. To me it's just a known fact that her head voice was never mastered. I didn't mean it as a "oh wow she sucks", it was just an objective statement.

Funny because I feel the same way about Dimash. He has a very weird tone and his high notes come off as shrill and whiney at times. Still very talented and one of the best, but his tone is not for me

How can this be in any way a strategy :'D video was suggested to me, I wanted to hear some great vocals, and I said in the video that this is all fun and that people shouldn't take it in a negative way. Plus, I reacted to so many Dimash videos so far and this one is just next in line.

Dimash is more skilled. He is one of the most skilled in the world and simply oustanding. He is one of my personal biases :D But Mariah does write her own songs, or has written many of them, and she is seen as vocal trinity. In her prime she was one of the best. I also don't think that singing in different languages means you are a better singer or that playing instruments means you are a better singer. That only means you have more talents or skills and you are overall more musically educated, but the video I reacted to only compared notes that they sang, so whatever other skills they possess do not matter in this video.

Clearly u know nothing about Mariah lmao. She does write and produce. Singing different languages means nothing, specially when Dimash doesnt even pronounce most words correctly. He just learns the phonetics. So youre hilarious for even trying to make that a skill of his. Dimash will never have Mariahs musicality or writing skills. Let alone reach her porential in her prime because his belts are just not as impressive as hers. And thats all he likes to do. No one in the music field would ever describe MC as the greatest singer in the world and never will. Dimash doesn't have an American audience or people promoting him like MC. She has had all the advantages with the music industry behind her. Dimash won't sell his soul for a hit record as it's about artistry. Think as you will embrace her. Her drama queen attitude and mental instability has affected her music.
