Notice how Lata Mangeshkar started singing in the 1940s and continued into the 2000s. She is currently in hospital with Covid. Let's pray for her recovery 🙏 ❤
@@graymatter_7no he does mean 50000 songs indeed fun fact she couldn't marry her lover because he was a royal prince and the king thought that singing is lowly profession that's both of them never married to anyone and after he died she started dressing like a widow till she died
The 60s-80s were all about Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bosle, Mukesh and Muhammad Rafi When it's late 1980s-2000s, it's udit narayan, alka yagnik, Kumar Sanu, kavita Krishnamurthy, SP Bala Subramaniam, Anuradha and other legends
Pretty wrong...Lata Mangeshkar dominated 90s as well...hum apke hain kaun..ddlj..dil toh pagal hai..mohabattein...that 60 yr old lady gave young singer run for their money...
@@tony-pc4kd yes she was surely there, actually she started from 1940s to 2000s. She had many songs. What I meant Lata Mangeshkar did not do as many projects as earlier. Like in comparison to 60s-80s, where all the lead actress songs we basically in her voice.
@@augustleo4091 when shreya and sunidhi entered the chat singing jadu hai nasha hai for bips...75yr old granny age Lata ji like ... Kids m not done yet...Le my Tere liye hum hai jiye for preity ...kese piya se m kahu kitna pyaar hai for kareena...she is a treasure ...
Not 1980s because Kishore Kumar was still alive and lata mangeshkar was still on top. You can say from 1990s to 2010s. Because after 2010s arijit singh came up to take the mantel of overnight sensation alongside shreya ghoshal and Neha kakkar.
@@dragonforcegaming7555 Thats why I said late 1980s. 1988 was specifically for udit narayan and alka yagnik as they got their mega hits with papa kehte hai and ek do teen respectively.
It feels me with goosebumps now that the next generation will only hear Lata Mangeshkar in our stories and her listless beautiful songs she has sung.. Rest in peace and Lata ji! 🙏
The og's hve the most respect till yet and always will india will never forget them naming two of my favs lata mangeshkar and gulzar mukesh asha bhosle mohomad Rafi and so kishore Kumar and more
The voice of KK is immortal and there can only be one of a kind vocalists like KK!🙏 An eternal talent of our generation, be it the tone, texture or modulation of his voice, hit right at your heart! Rest in Power King! I wish you could hear some of his gems!🙏 Indian Music Industry will so dearly miss an legendary artist like KK!
Dear Justin, immense respect for you for appreciating and reacting on Hindi film industry songs. If you really wanna see the diversity then react to each one of these songs separately. These are all gems. Love from Canada.
"Lag ja gale" and "aap ki nazaron" are the songs which you analyse , you'll never able to decode such perfection.these are beyond human understanding, such great godly art.
I think you should react to some songs in this list like Babuji dheere chalna Leke pehla pehla pyar O haseena zulfon wali Ye ratein ye mausam You will definitely love these
@@dragonforcegaming7555 I know he couldn't understand any song but I am suggesting only for enjoying music of these songs all these songs have good music anyone can enjoy it
@@muntazirmehdi14512 these songs get their meaning only when u understand the lyrics without understanding the lyrics it's like Tony Kakkar's songs which has no meaning to it.
@@dragonforcegaming7555 how could you say this apart from lyrics these songs have good music how can you compare it to shit of Tony Kakkar which have nothing no music, no lyrics ,no singing
@@muntazirmehdi14512 I am saying it in reference to him because for him(justin) all songs are good whether that is sung by tony OR rahat fateh ali khan. You didn't got what I was trying to convey. That times background music and the way it's arranged by the music directors would always be evergreen to everyone(without considering the singers as the singers themselves used to say that 75% of the work was done by the musicians and music directors they only contributed 25% by giving the voice). This statement was given by Manna Dey.
I think you should react to great legend SP BALASUBRAMANIAM he has done songs in many different language kannada,Hindi etc you should definitely react to them It's a humble request 💖💖
Lata Mangeshkar is no more, and it's a very big tragedy for our nation. The Nightingale of India has been silenced forever, RIP Lataji. Her legacy will forever live on.
I am a die heart fan of these classics even though I am 20th century kid but still I just love these.. The gifted voices of these legends mingling with the sweet melodies do a magic to our ears...
I was born in the 80s so my nostalgia era was the 90s but I recognized and love many of the older songs. I don't really recognize many of the songs from the 30s but once you hit the mid 40s to 50s, I think many of those songs are still very popular and revered. I don't know about people younger than me but I think a lot of Indians would recognize and appreciate some of the more classic songs.
I was born in the mid 90s and I'm not even Indian(from Nepal).I don't know the songs before 70s but after 70s I think I know most of the songs and still listening them frequently
I confirm. The songs from the 1940s and onwards are in our collective memory. Prior to that, the songs were sung in the elitist authentic Hindustani style
@@O2H3 the fact that only some singers like Arijit Singh, jubin nautiyal and Atif Aslam,Tulsi Kumar, Shreya Ghoshal etc are still making such good songs while today's song Yeh ladki pagal hai pagal hai Main paani paani ho gyi Kaanta laga 🤦🤦🤦
Without any doubt, we love and respect The Legends, the OGs unconditionally. Definitely as time passes by people start listening to Modern Style of Songs more and starts getting detached from the Melodies but thanks to our parents we are still connected to the Legends. I mean it's not just that they are the OGs so we are bound to respect them or something, infact, those songs hits differently. They are something different. So, yeah, "LEGENDS NEVER DIE"
Do try SD Burman. If you listen to him you will get to see how Kishore Kumar was able to sing in such a nasal voice in some songs like paanch rupaiya bara aana.
Kishori kumar never learnt Classic singing but our greatest Classic singer like Bhimsen Joshi ji and manna da were surprised how he deliverd best in accordance of Classic singing 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Bhimsen Joshi and Manna Dey never comented Kishore Kumar on classical singing. Manna Dey commented and appreciated the power in his voice. Bhimsen Joshi was the one who commented and appreciated Manna Dey on his classical singing and his ability to give a tough challenges to him(Joshi).
@@dragonforcegaming7555 he praised him for his singing in amar prem. You can searched it. A big article was published in the hindu newspaper about it in 1970s.
@@adityapagare6026 yeah just read it. He gave this interview to Dharm Yug magazine commenting on Kishore Kumar's voice and Songs of Amar Prem. But what I was actually talking about is infront appreciation which Manna Dey Received from Joshi ji. Kishore Kumar is praised by every singer because he didn't learn classical but still was able to deliver that classical Base because of his voice's nature. Mohd. Rafi too used to praise everyone while Kishore Kumar declared that to not compare him with Mohd.Rafi or Manna Dey because they will be the best male singers of their era and may be the era after. Mohd. Rafi's sudden death became the reason for Kishore Kumar to be established as the only leading Singer while Manna Dey started to sing for other film industries and was able to place himself as one of the lead singers of Marathi Film industry and South Film industry and Bengal Film industry while Kishore Kumar reigned the Bollywood alongside Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle.
You should start reacting old classic songs of lata mangeshkar and Mohammad Rafi saheb... They will tell u the whole story of bollywood please react to lata mangeshkar's lag jaa gale and satyam shivam sundaram.
Guys... old classic masterpiece songs are full of meanings, the lyrics made them absolute masterpiece , he just understand the vocals and it is of no use of him to react on old songs as he wont understand its lyrics
Geeta Dutt, Lata Mangeshkar, Mukesh, Muhhammed Rafi, Heman Kumar are legends and will always be special. And yes Lata domninated the industry afterwards partly because of her own monopolies and partly due to her talent. ALSO YOU SHOULD REACT TO JAGIT SINGH AND GHAZALS.
Well Usha Uthup for one did use the raspy darker tone of her voice Back in the 70s... She is a legend. Do check her out. Indie music in other languages - bengali and tamil already did use the non traditional vocal quality. Music composers like illay Raja and then AR rahman brought it to the mainstream. Pancham (Rd Burman) got the vocal fry to become popular in Bollywood. Like you said.... Still a lot to explore...
The Classics are mostly respected by the older generation but the newer, modern generation fail to grasp the beauty and essence of the music back in the day. Also music directors, producers and even composers here have lost creativity and are constantly churning up music by pathetically remixing the classics. But much can't be said as every generation has their own genre and type of music, it's just sad to see the ignorance and utter disconcern. I have been watching your videos for a while now and I'd like you to react to one of the songs that is "EK DIL EK JAAN", a new era song but it's subtle and beautifully sung and written. Hope to see you making more amazing videos.🙌✨
As an Indian born in 2000: 1930-1940 : Me be like " What language is that??" 1940-1980 :Me be like "How do they do it??, without any tech" 1980-2005 : Me be like" I loved it, Who is the singer??" 2005-2015 : Me be like "Ok, I like some of them, But what are rest doing??" 2015- 2022: Me be like "Where is volume down button, I have to change the music, where is song change button??"
Well there were good songs in between 2015-2022 for example lut gaye by jubin was a good song, then teri mitti and Filhal by B Praak and Ve Maahi by Arijit singh and also Rahat Fateh Ali Khan's zaroori tha was an extremely good song. Though most of the highest grossing songs were of either Neha Kakkar's Or Tony Kakkar's which was a really a sad thing but that is where social media plays it's part.
I really appreciate that you are actually researching on this...hope you will explore more into Indian music beyond Bollywood... India is like the vast galaxy...
From "barsaat song " how Melody Queen Lata Mangeshkar started her singing career and now she dead but remain forever and will keep ruling on music world and our heart as well ! ♥️ RIP lata ma'am 🙏🥲
Amazed to find the interest he is showing regarding those who were there before the legends. He understands Indian classical history, he has that feel, that coaching and above all the ear and brain like a blotting paper.
6:34 sun sahiba sun ,i think you should react to this masterpiece ,the way you reacted only on 3 seconds just imagine this song is a 6 minute masterpiece .
I don't know any words of indian but I was listening with my heart and all the time I was fall in love with indian song. This songs are sayaad and khariyat. I am myanmar citizen. I love MUSIC ❤️❤️❤️
I wonder how come nobody recommended him "Ek chatur naar" song yet. That's a one of a legendary singing battle performance in history. No second to that. Kishor Kumar and Manna Dey's iconic song.
These were and will be considered ever lasting legends. No modern singers try to compare them even though some are better.Thats the respect and love they earned.
The Goddess of singing Shri Lata Mangeshkar ji was, is and will be great. Unfortunately now she left only her voice for us and went in heaven 😭 rest in peace Lata ji you will always be alive in our hearts 💕
As a second generation South Asian-Canadian, watching you discover South Asian music through these react videos and explaining the technical stuff in a way that I understand has been such a gift. You've totally gotten me to take a break from my alt/rock/folk playlists and revisit a lot of classic Bollywood I used to watch with my parents. Thank you so much Justin.
Justin, U need to listen to Udit Narayan's Kumar Sanu's and KK's songs💛..... theyr the Legends of modern day Indian Music ,they kept the core Indian spirit yet modernized the music ❤
We still love og songs and you will definitely find old songs playlists from old legends in almost every indian's music collection! They have deeper meaning in lyrics, pure vocals and less electronicals and chaos. They are those soulmates who calm our hearts everytime we listen to them!💓
The reason Indian music got darker and heavier in the early 200's is that at the time there was a trend in Bollywood where a lot of movies were being made on serious topics like organized crime, politics, and terrorism. These movies didn't need songs meant for dancing instead they needed background music to suit the tone of the movie which led to darker types of music. Also, the early 2000s was when rock started picking up in India and a lot of composers started dabbling in rock.
This is my favorite video with u yet Justin. From 1990s come back to around 2010s was the best movies in Bollywood. And all the music just took me❤❤❤❤🔥🔥🔥🔥
Loved this. Mohammed Rafi was the king when it came to providing a voice for the heroes of films - he had an amazing ability to make modifications so as to suit a vast variety of actors. Totally unparalleled. Of the ladies, clearly Lata is Queen but Anuradha Paudwal is an absolute gem from the 1990s. An incredible voice at her peak, it's a shame she didn't reach the prominence she deserved. Possibly controversial, but I'd place her above Alka Yagnik in vocal quality and dexterity. Udit Narayan is another of my absolute favourites (one of the voices of my teen years...totally ageing myself now 😁).
Don't forget Hemant Kumar and Manna Dey. Their voices were unique but still suited to every hero. For example Mohammed Rafi is known to be the voice of Shammi Kapoor but still songs like ae dil ab kahin le ja(by Hemant Kumar) and yalla yalla dil le gayi(by manna dey) matched with the style of shammi Kapoor. Similarly Rafi was more suited as the voice of Dev Anand but still we see that kishore, Hemant and Manna dey voice matched on him.
@@tae1169 I would Argue on this. I think Manna Dey suited a lot better even Shankar Jaikishan said that too Raj Kapoor that Manna Dey suited more on him while Raj Kapoor was adamant to have Mukesh Only as his voice while earlier it was Mohd. Rafi who used to give his voice to Raj Kapoor.
@@dragonforcegaming7555 Manna dey sang many superhit songs for Raj Kapoor but none could reach the level of hits Mukesh songs got , Awara hoon , Mera Joota hai Japani , Sangam. His songs became international hits .... Manna dey's voice was a bit older while Mukesh sounded young ... Raj Kapoor and Mukesh were the first hit combination in Hindi Film Industry .
@@dragonforcegaming7555 No , Raj Kapoor was the one who launched Shankar Jaikishan , Shailendra ,Hasrat Jaipuri ...Mukesh and Raj Kapoor learnt music from the same teacher . Shankar never said that Mukesh didn't suit him , He only said Manna dey also suits him very well.
So your question- when the test of indian music changed. Being 90s teen - I have seen 80s music being more series and concentrated towards family oriented films. Then around 95 came the so called "indi pop", which is more of a single/album song. The very famous "made in india" by Alisha Chinoi took over the music and started whole new ear of than called "pop" song where singers started releasing albums. "90s pop songs" is still listen these days, singers like KK, sonu Nigam, lucky Ali, Alisha Chinoi, shan, Bombay viking, colonian cousins, Junoon, Euphoria. Because of the success of those music the trend also continued to film music as well. BTW, those were the days when internet was not there and music was expensive. We used to noted down songs and buy blank CDS/tapes and get it recorded from friends or from music stores. Or hunt for whole album from stores. Music love was expensive those days. Each CD would cost 200-400 rupees which is expensive before 25 years.
I know old songs because of radio and when i was kid i used to say pls change these old songs but now i know the meaning of those old songs and now old songs make me cry
When you understand the lyrics they are so deep....i mean u can just flow with music ❤ great composers great musicians great singers back then in the golden era🔥😭
Justin I have said this before also that you need to start reacting to KK songs. He is the legend India has produced. You can hear his glimpse while you were listening to year 2007.
I love the music from 1960.... I mean after 1960... Seriously... Those songs are just so fine... Even without much instruments and technology they created such beautiful song.. we had beautiful voices then, we have them now also but to those songs... No competition...❤️❤️
Please react to 'lag ja gale' and 'tera mera pyaar amar' these two are just amazing songs other golden era songs are amazing too but these two are one of the most magical songs you'll know when u hear them😊😊😊
Yes justin alot of respect goes towards these legends in india, and even half way around the world where I live in the Caribbean. We learn from these legends going forward into music. I mean these ppl and music are our original base, I mean they are the foundation of music, it all started with them and passed down generations. My father loved those singers and their music, he told me about them. Much Respect to u for appreciating these ultimate legends.❤💯🔥🙏🏼
You should really really REALLY listen to KK's discography He is underrated in public but a lot of music listeners have KK as their favourite and nostalgic singer. He was the voice of youth in 2000s
Him explaining genre of different old songs and what track Actually resembles that's beautiful and just......❤️🙏 thankyou for having this love I don't have any words left
Would have love to see your reaction on the following singers and songs: Arijit Tumhain Mohabbat Hai (Atrangi Re) Sunidhi Chauhan Neeyat (teen patti) Ghar aao na Monali Thakur Moh Moh Ke Dhaage Kavita krishnamurthy Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam
Can you do a seperate reaction on bheegi bhagi si by Kishor Kumar and aapki nazro ne samjha by Lata Mangeshkar please And one much needed on Chatur naar please!!!!?
Thank you for respecting the culture and legends of India, we respect how you feel music with heart and understand ( ofcourse you are couch you understand this better) . lots of love from India brother ❣️ .
Remind yourself your reaction on "Bekhayali song of 2019". That is definitely the biggest recommendation as your next reaction. The song has two versions - one with Sachet and one with Arijit. You heard Sachet's one and it has around 500 million views while Arijit's version has around 50 million views. I like both but definitly check out Sachet's version. I'm sure it'll be great. You have reacted to Arijit singing it live but it had quite different melody. There too, I requested to react to studio version and the comment got a lot of likes but now is it's definitely worth reacting to.
React to more of kishor da and kk..... Two of the best untrained singers that are literally better than most of the trained ones..... Pls react two both of them 🔥✌️🤘💕
