I just want to say a big thank you for everyone who's watched and commented! I have been trying to go and respond to every comment but I can't keep track anymore! I'm trying my best to read everything and taking note of all your reaction ideas into a separate file atm so please keep on sending over your suggestions! I genuinely take them! I definitely am planning on making more of this kind super soon, so stay tuned for that! If you want to be notified when the next one goes up make sure to press the bell icon! Thank you guys soooo much for your comments and your enthusiasm! It's soooo amazing for me to find myself surrounded by a tribe of fellow Nightwish and symphonic metal lovers! That's literally my life! Believe me, you won't be disappointed in this channel if you can identify to that!
Oh my Elvann the nightwish army is about to descend upon you don't be afraid they will not harm you but your eyes and ears will be treated to a world of floorgasmic proportions from an amazing singer and an amazing band with Thomas the keyboardist is the song writer and musician
That's good then Elvann I am a58year old Aussie and I happen to stumble across nightwish about 2 years ago and I just can't stop listening to them and there side projects as well just did not know that this type of music existed mind blown absolutely love it
Totaly agree. Been a metalhead for 35 years, specially into extreme genres, but thanks to floor and their reactions i have just discovered dimash, and it gives me chills and goosebumps all the time. A totaly new and unexpected trip for me. It just works for me
@@ElvannReacts They said in the episode that Henk agreed to do this duet on the condition that he'd get to perform it when Nightwish would be in the Netherlands again. Not sure if there are tickets left? (If there were, maybe not after tonight :') )
Elvann sold out ... got my tickets on day one lol but ok I am a seasoned Nightwish fan hahah ... but them performing this together is the cherry on the pie I think heheh
You hit the nail on it's head when you said that she isn't just singing it but she's living it. I said it many times before, Floor doesn't just sing lyrics she bring them to life.
@@ElvannReacts she should stop the metal and start opera SO GOOD IS FLOOR Im Dutch. Never heard of her till this season of Beste Zangers. Amazing artist, can't wait for Phantom of the Opera from Nightwish with Henk Poort too!
@@ElvannReacts You said you play harp? What a beautiful instrument! I love harps! They work very well with symphonic metal. ...Just sayin'. .... I mean, just hinting. ;)
Yep, and I'm so amazed how easily that D6 note came out of her throat. I've known for years she's the best vocalist in this universe and so versatile and capable doing almost anything with her voice, but still... it really looked she was nowhere near her extremes.
Indeed, she always makes it seem effortless, and it seemed like she could've easily taken it up to the original's E6 I believe or even higher it is if she was feeling it.
Floor opened Ep 1 on a high note and blew all the others away. She and Henk close the show by tearing down the house. Great way to bookend the season! Now to plot and plan on how to get a resale ticket to see them together and a flight from the U.S. to Amsterdam.
By the final note?!?!? LOL I was a mess by the time Henk finished his first verse. They are SO DAMN GOOD together. We all expected that I think, but reality far exceeded expectations this time!
Floor is definitely the most versatile singer on the planet. She has excellent voice control and technique and she masters all vocal styles. And she can really absorb the emotions from the song and emit them straight into your heart. Right now she is the best female metal singer around. Period. Check out some Nightwish :-)
I mean, Nightwish is the reason why I'm now a professional musician ;) I literally made a career in music inspired by them, no joke. From what I know, she is the best metal singer at the moment. When I grow up, I want to be like her!
Check out Dimash Kudiebergen from Kazakhstan, now 25 he began singing at age 5 and trained incessantly throughout his years. Both parents are professional singers, mother opera, Dad more Pop oriented. He plays 6 instruments and possesses a 6 octave range. Highest note recorded was a D8 but he is able to sing a deep, dark vocal fry as well. he movement through the various aspects of his range and variations of color within each make him a fair challenge for the goddess Floor. I would love to hear them sing together!!
I know about Dimasj. 6 octaves is insane. He would be a strong duet partner for Floor indeed. That would give some musical firework. Who knows what the future may bring :-). But I also have a suggestion :-). Check out Michael Mills and his band Toehider. He has a reach of four octaves and is a very talented multi-instrumentalist as well.
Henk was actually the Dutch Phantom from 1993-1996, so he dug right under the character's skin and knew him well. His baritone complimented her soprano beautifully!
@@ElvannReacts May as well just react to this entire season. IF it doesn't get blocked by Avrotros, anyway... ALL of the performers this season are good! And I heard there are good points of previous seasons of this show as well. There MUST be, or it would not be ending it's twelfth season now. :)
I’ve seen this last episode of this season of “Beste Zangers” (which I always record) last saturday and play it since every day at least once a day. I didn’t know Floor as a singer before the first episode and have “fallen in love with her fantastic voice”. She is able to perform various genres, so maybe you can find the whole season on the internet and listen for yourself. Can you believe she is the leadsinger of the Finnish metalband Nightwish? Well, she is!
Lol, I was trying to rub a white spot off my screen when I realised it was your mouse pointer 😂😂😂 Nice reaction 😁 And don't worry about the crying. We've all been crying over Floor's performances for weeks!!
The last one who sais he couldnt cry to Floors performance ended saying "you ruined the title of my album!" (Lions don't cry)... so better not challenge her :-) I'm definitelly not trying (to hold back tears of joy)
Great review Elavnn! Henk Poort played in Holland the part of the Phantom opera on stage back in the day, so that's why he filled well in his roll. There are some more treasure songs you can find of this show by the way. Love to see them at your channel ;)
@@ElvannReacts Yes that's true. Not that I'm a big expert of opera music. About the little gems in this years "Beste Zangers" show. It is worth it, especially for the viewer to your channel, to watch a very first time response. A little hint to choose from: every thing Floor Jansen does. But Emma Heesters with "Strong" or Henk Poort "Sound of Silene" are pretty good too.
i love how he starts to growl a lil bit and seeing her smile, thaught that made her push even harder =)=) brilliant performance, thanks alot for the reaction =)=) and as always, greetings from germany
Those two have known each other for many years....They are mutually an admirer to each other...he's a professional, very well known opera singer in the Netherlands and she is...Well, she is Floor....Her extensive background in singing, both metal and classical, needs no introduction... And that, ladies & gentlemen, is how you sing Phantom Of The Opera!
Henk poort is a Dutch Opera singer and Floor Jansen was an unknown female singer in The Netherlands before she sang in this TV show. Floor Jansen and Henk Poort are going on tour together.
Henk Poort (1956) is a Dutch opera and musical singer and a baritone. and was THE Dutch ghost of the Phantom of the Opera from 1993 In 2019 Poort participated in Best Singers, where he took first place in the Dutch iTunes list with his version of “Sound of Silence”. he song this for Floor Jansen in a metal version because she is in a metal band.
Yeah! Great start to getting started walking the Nightwish path... I think you might like Marco Hietala's voice too and enjoy the Nightwish music. EDIT: I just checked your page and saw you already know Nightwish music and even made some covers, that's awesome!
She knows how to use so many different colors with her voice, and play around with the way she sings things. I'm blown away by how she navigates through that with such artistry
@@johanf1784 : How so? Wacken Open Air had much better quality with Floor's voice -- her tone is much clearer, and it seems as though she isn't struggling to sing the song as much, as though she had become better acquainted with the song. While Buenos Aires is not a bad performance by any stretch, WOA 2013 is the better performance by far.
I just started listening to Nightwish relatively recently I have to say floor never fails to floor me. Also I liked how you reacted it is very honest. Hope you do more videos like this one.
A great review of this wonderful song, I saw this live on Dutch TV, it was breathtaking. My first reaction was: "Wow, this was really amazing!" . You did a very good review of this, Elvann!
Hi, Legacyautumn here from the nightdreamers reacticide :) I've listened to a lot of your music, you have such a beautiful voice. This was a very good reaction I thought (as many here, I've watched quite a few...). You were very genuine I felt :) And I just loved this performance by Floor and Henk, it was breathtaking, I just can't find the right words... I cried, a lot. I'm definately hoping for more reactions from you :)
Heyy Legacy! So nice to see you here! Super happy you enjoyed the video!!! It means a lot to me what you say about my music! I'm so touched by the fact you like what I do!
He plays the phantom very well... he should 🙂 He played that role in the musical for a very long time, and Floor saw him in that role when she was a child, and has been a fan of him ever since. She has wanted to perform this with him for a long time, but he had some conditions... first it had to be based on the Nightwish arrangement, and second, he wanted to also perform it with her and Nightwish when they were performing in the Netherlands... There is a recording of that performance as well. It is quite sweet actually. She was a fan of him since she was a child, but in the meantime, he became a fan of her. You can quite see the mutual respect and appreciation between the 2 when they perform together. That hug at the end is a lot more than a formality.
i couldn't be more proud as a dutch guy seeing all those reactions from vocal coaches, floor is one of the best if not the best singer in the world, and together with henk it's just amazing
Henk Poort is a well regarded stage and opera singer/actor in the Netherlands and he used to play the title role in Phantom of the Opera in the Dutch stage version from 1993 through 1996. Floor saw him in this role when she was about 12 and has been a fan of Henk ever since. She asked him to do this duet with her and Henk accepted provided he would be allowed to repeat the duet with her on stage when Nightwish performs in the Netherlands. BTW the voice distortion Henk uses is not his natural performance style but something Floor encouraged him to use in this program.
Greeting from the Netherlands, Harp playing and singing 😎 awesome, By the way Floor is singing with her Idol she calls him "The" Henk Poort. He first put "grit" in his voice for Floor in an earlier episode of the programm with his rendition of "The Sound of Silence" He said that as an Opera singer it was a no no (30 Operas, 26 Operrettas and about 10 musicals and some acting)
Yeaheee it is! But in that kind of context I think it just serves the eprformance sooo well! It is so appropriate. Character colors should always come first I believe, it makes the most authentic performances
Henk will be singing this with Floor during her six upcoming solo sold out shows, there this up coming January in the Netherlands. Then also next November (2020), when Nightwish plays their concert in Amsterdam.
Yes Elvann, you did it very nice. Keep doing it. About this performance ( or PERFLOORMANCE, as someone has said in comments ) it's amazing. I have this thing with opera and this way of singing that moves some strings inside and I feel emotions inmediately. What a great singer she is. As you said, there are many great singers in all genres, but Floor has something else, something that makes her unique. Thanks for the reaction !
She absolutely does! She isn't only a performer, she also has that sense of artistry and desire to communicate through her voice and that is incredibly amazing!
When you've got a background in music like the one you describe, Elvann, and judging by your reaction to this performance, I know we're in for a treat, with your reaction videos...So, without further due, I'm subscribing...Best of wishes for your channel! 😀👍
Hello. Loved your reaction. And yes, it's a good idea for you to react, because you're a professional singer and vocal coach, so your reactions will reflect that perspective.
Nice reaction! In comparison with other "reacting to" channels, I felt yours like a very honest and innocent one. And, well, Floor is amazing, haha. When I saw she sung TPOTP I knew this would be one of the best days in my life. I cried with the last note, also. Greetings from Mexico!
Exactly on your side. You described it very best. I’m a big fan of Floor Jansen because I never saw someone who can change her voice in so many different ways. And she is always living what she is singing on stage. I watch this every time with Nightwish. She puts so much emotion into her voice and her face and body as well. A great singer we found here. Thanks for sharing your opinion!
When & where?: Tv show was recorded outdoors on a rainy day (look closely) in April 2019 at resort Atzaró on Ibiza Island. Not only Jansen & Poort sang live, also the MF Band performed live! during this TV show Best Singers. So, also credits to the MF Band with: Marcel Fisser (bandleader & lead guitar) - Gregor Hamilton (keyboards) - Marijn van den Berg (drums) - Serge Bredewold (bass guitar) - Martijn de Laat (trumpet) - Arno Slijper (piano / keyboards) ) - Edwin de Groot (guitar - Lesley van der Aa (backing vocals) & headscarfed saxofonist (no name??). Info on the show by deva winblood: “Every one of those people on the couches were other Dutch vocalists. They took turns each week essentially serenading one of the other artists. They each would take songs from the catalog of the singer "on the couch" or that influenced them somewhere in their life and they would perform it with their own spin. Floor being from Nightwish, After Forever, Revamp, Ayreon, Star One, etc did amazing jobs. The week she was on the couch it is worth noting that ONLY the guy (Tim) referred to as the "Ramones t-shirt guy" flipping his hair did a Nightwish song (his remake of Nemo). Though Henk Poort did Disturbed's version of "The Sound of Silence" in that episode. This performance here is from duets for this episode (BZ season #12). It is also interesting that Floor is in what is with no contest the largest act any Netherlands born vocalist is in, but she was virtually unknown to the people of the Netherlands. Until this show. Nightwish is from Finland and they are the most popular act from that country and they get a lot of regular radio play. Nightwish is the popular music for Finnish people. :) Yet until now Floor was lesser known to the Dutch people. No more. There are a ton of reactions to this and pretty much everything she DID (and the other singers)...”
your reaction is pure, genuine.. you show emotion, straight from th eheart... thank you, my good lady.. honesty.... so rare these days.. you showed it in this here video
Thank you for that honest reaction and your discussion of their singing performance. I enjoy that and please do more from Best Zangers, especially Floor and Henk in this season (just every song a Hit). But to make that clear: each of them did a great job, fantastic season. Thank you so much, greetings from Germany.
Elvann You Said, not a lot of singers are able to lay that feelings into their performance, like Floor did. I beg you to react to Morissette Amon, first reaction on the Wish 107.5 channel I suppose, any song you‘ll find and love. Floor is another kind of singer, but in that special perspective they are quite similar to me. Thanks a lot in advance, and you won‘t regret it, I suppose.
@@thorstenmatadoerle8546 Hey can you send me the link to this, to make sure I got the right thing? I'll be happy to put it in my list of suggestions to react to!
Elvann My first suggestion for a reaction to Morissette is her interpretation of Never Enough (The Greatest Showman OST) on the Wish 107.5 Bus. A short explanation, that is a bus actually worked into a radio studio. The performance is live (!) and here‘s the link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fjn7X6ywq90.html After that, there are several videos of her covers, special of an original of her in Tagalog, her mother language. Will give you the link in response to your reaction. Looking forward, thank you and don‘t hurry, I enjoy the time exploring your channel .. best regards, Thorsten
Floor is a great storyteller and she manages to really deliver the feeling! I really liked your reaction and don't be afraid to pause the video to talk.
Love your analysis absolutely spot on!!! Floor is an exceptional singer. She has honed her craft to the point where she can sing anything and bring it to life and emotion. Professional opera may be beyond Floor but I would love to hear her sing Nessun Dorma which I've never heard her sing.
@@ElvannReacts Henk sings The Sound of Silence in David Draimon's style a la Disturbed on this show as well. He sang it to Floor on her night on the couch.
I really liked your reaction. I just discovered Floor and the Phantom video tonight. Wow I had never seen or heard Floor before tonight. She is amazing. Thanks for being so cute and informative. Hope you do more reaction vids. Take care.
That was a great reaction and review, you should do more of these if you are so inclined as they would be really great!!! This was musical theater on a small stage and they were in character perfectly. Henk never had this much fun as a opera singer doing this duet and Floor she got to sing with one of her idols and really nailed it. I will truly miss this show, a show where different genre singers come and interact in a close stage and then do one another songs is so uplifting, no competition no stupid scripted drama just great vocalists enjoying one another works. Somewhere far, far away... Darth Vader is saying" Wait, I feel a disturbance in the FORCE, it must be Floor Jansen again, tell the Death Star to be prepared to be rattled"!!!!!
Yeahe, definitely a more genuine show than those singing competitions we're used to seeing on TV. We need to showcase more genuinely amazing artists in this way, and give a space for that to happen! So much magic there!
One of the best female singers of our time is currently together in one band with one of the best songwriters/musicians of our time (Tuomas Holopainen). We live in great times.
Awwnnn yeaheee, we can do that now 😭 I litteraly started crying while watching your react vid!!! 🥺 Also thankks :). Really glad you liked it ❤️❤️❤️. Catch you on Discord!
Hello Elvann, i just watched this reaction for the how many times just as a sort of background musik during being at work. I just wanted to let you know (maybe you knew it already) that this duet is rewarded as the best song of 15 years beste zangers is on tv.
@@ElvannReacts I mean, Im totally on a Floor high right now, and the huge 'Nightwish Army' would definately flock to any Floor/Nightwish reaction (especially with Ghost Love Score), but other popular ones include Disturbeds 'Sound of Silence' or Jinjer with 'Pisces'. Youll get different yet very impressive vocals on each of those. But it really depends on what youve already heard, and what youre into. Ill be along for your next reaction regardless though I think! 😃
Never surprised by anything Floor does; She is capable of anything the human voice can do. Her personality makes it just that much better... Oh, Henk isn't bad either... ;)
Well, judging on how many views this already has, it was a good decision to do it. I like your covers as well, probably would not have noticed your channel if it wasn't for this video. Will definitely watch everything, thx for the content.
Welcome around! Yeah, that video really changed the whole thing for me! It really took off, but I’ve also created a looot of stuff prior, over the course of many years! :O See tou around and thank you for watching this one! Happy to have you around ;)
Hahahaha I really Love your reaction. When you said "I'm voiceless" and then tried to come up with a substitute for it and didn't find any. I've been in this situation with this woman in like every performance she makes. As I said, you did a fine reaction, Love it! I hope you react to some Nightwish! Btw, I adore you singing Sleeping Sun in one of your clips. Have you seen Floor Jansen sing it on stage at Tampere? I wonder if you got the inspiration there or from olden days. You did like a nice mix of both. But I wonder, however.
Hey! Thanks so much!! The inspiration definitely comes from older days! I know Nightwish since I was 13, and made a career in music because of them, literally. I sang from a Nightwish Tribute band back in Montreal too actaully :)
