It seems this is a very difficult song to pull off. Usually when people try it in singing competitions they don't quite make it work. I feel like only Hozier does it right.
@@paulmcdonald2347 True, but so many songs get great covers, so it isn't that simple. This song in particular is very challenging for many talented singers.
Nukelover I wonder what you think of this version done by an upcoming Dutch artist called Davina Michelle ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-F-aaHS1uXtM.html
its all about the pitch, wich so many signers struggle with. some go all chest voice, but he plays around constantly, yet he makes it look so dam easy. hes truly talented
Considering this happened in a freakin subway it showcases his talent beautifully, you can tell he loves to sing and perform and that's what makes this version actually great. I enjoyed how you pointed out the nuances of the performance, it takes a good eye, and ear of course :)
Woww I love how you mentioned about hitting consonants like the "M". Watched 2 of your videos do far, learnt a TON!! Thanks Beth you're an amazing teacher
and autotune has left the building ladies and gents. that's the true measure of an artist in a small closed space with noise and lots of peeps around and still sounding damn good. love from Greece. You can tell he just loves to sing
Loved this!!! Could you react to his song "NFWMB - live acoustic" version please? It's a very hypnotic performance and I'd love to see your analysis of it.

I remember early on how he'd sing it in E minor. But every time he'd get to the Chorus, his voice would sometimes go out. Now he just sings it a whole step down I believe. Less tension in his voice!
Hi Beth, I think a good song for a future reaction is Oathbreaker - 10:56 / Second Son of R (Audiotree Live) A unique band with a unique vocal style, it should make for an interesting video
Recently found your channel, and I love the way you break singing down with respect to each singers style. That said please react to anything Coheed and Cambria. I think you of all people would appreciate the vocal stylings of Claudio Sanchez.
Too out there for my tastes. I understand it's based on concepts from Claudio. Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with his fantasy work, so I don't find his music accessible. They're not terrible, it's just not for me.
Hello, Beth. Thank you for great reactions. Please, can you make reaction for Soundgarden beyond the wheel live 1990 Germany? Exactly that live. I promise you will not be disappointed. That performance is astonishing. One of the best of all. Sorry for bad English.
You should react to the great Late Mark Hollis of Talk Talk, who gave his all at every single performance. The obvious one would be "It's my life" but I would recommend songs like "Dum-dum girl" and "Such a shame" to truly hear what he was capable of.
Could you please react to "Shed Some Light by Shinedown Live from Kansas City". I think the Shinedown singer is the best rock singer today and would like to hear your opinion on it.
I'm going to recommend an old Canadian Rock singer from the 90's who has transitioned to a more mellow singer-songwriter in intimate settings over the years by the name of Matthew Good. Matthew Good Band - House of Smoke and Mirrors (live studio recording w/ lyrics): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xgWqmQf4CYk.html Matthew Good - Set me on Fire Album version (live studio recording): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Xryfj4WADag.html Matthew Good - Set me on Fire (live) - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iX2EcYAIO68.html
I'd love to see you react to some Mike Patton performances. Some Faith No More or Tomahawk. The guy is a mad man! ("Superhero" live at The Milton, 2015 is a great one)
I legit just watched this last night and now you're reacting to it. 🙂 I'd love to hear your thoughts on one of Australia's most talented artists (in my opinion)...Silverchair : Miss you love- live in Newcastle. or Those thieving birds/Strange behavior- live or Tuna in the brine- live in Newcastle. They're all incredible live performances.
I just love your reaction and analysis. Reaction suggestion: Please react to a Dutch singer, Davina Michelle - Take me to church (HOZIER) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-F-aaHS1uXtM.html I'm curious about your opinion. Thank you! Cheers from Hungary!
Not a fan of this version. His voice is just hanging there with no support from the other voices and music. Such a big disconnect, like two sound strains competing to occupy the same space. But, I'm just a listener with an opinion.
Anyone who has seen this version please upvote the fuck out of this. Young the Giant - Mind over Matter (In the Open) on RU-vid. The acoustics of this song done live in the location they performed is breathtaking
Hey Beth. I would like to recommend you band called We Are The Fallen. They are all former members of band Evanescence with amazing singer Carly. They have such a good songs but somehow underrated 'cuz guys compered them too much with Ev and Carly with Amy. I would like to recommend you the most popular song by this band " Bury Me Alive" or their live performance " St. John" or "I Am Only One" and amazing cover of band Journey " Separate Ways ".
Hi Beth I enjoyed watching your reaction on this great song. I really hope you like this version by an upcoming Dutch artist as much as I do. She really puts her heart and soul in every song she sings and I wonder what you think of her unusual voice. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-F-aaHS1uXtM.html
Please please please!! Review and react to Wayfaring Stranger by Poor Man's Poison it's beautiful and I'd love to hear your take on it because you break vocals down so well!! Please and thank you!!!
Always good to see the famous get amongst the people. If you could, have a look at Within Temptation - The Cross (Black Symphony Live). The lead singer Sharon is amazing and has had no formal vocal training.
Hey, just found this channel - love the concept! I'd be really interested to see your take on Morgan Kibby's performance on M83's "Skin of the Night" at the Somerset House in London. It's different from her normal performance on the track, but I don't really have the musical background to quantify how.
