She’s not a technical singer. She uses pure vibes and emotion to sing. She’s also very uncomfortable with live performing when it’s not her own concerts. Her own fans.
actually her technique is pretty good! but more importantly she channels pure emotion and vulnerability. Those are more rare than the technique anyway. There are tons of great vocal coaches with amazing technique but they never sell millions or records.
@@bjarnyg she writes and co produced all of her music, usually a producer helps her to fit the words into the music but she’s still the main writer of her music.
She was so nervous here and you can tell. I think her pitch problems were mostly due to that. Her later performances are better for sure. Also this song doesn't show a ton of range Haha. Thanks for this video!
One of the guests/hosts/presenters on the couch is Sharon den Adel. She is an amazing vocalist from the Netherlands. She sings with a band called Within Temptation. You should definitely check them out
For your next Lana reaction I would 100% recommend her performance of chelsea hotel n.02 with Adam Cohen. Their voices sound really beautiful and ethereal together and complement the song and each other very well, its just an overall perfect duet. She is definitely a much more stylistic singer than technical but she has definitely improved beautifully and seems to know her strengths and weaknesses much better now, such as her beautiful angelic head voice and falsetto and rich low register. Really hope I continue to see her on your channel since I feel like she has been kinda black listed by many vocal coaches on RU-vid because of some of her older performances in which she showcased a lot of instability on her singing due to nerves and the poor technique she used at the time. As I said she has definitely improved a bunch and I would love to see her voice and overall art getting more appreciation by vocal coaches such as you. ❤ Thank you for the reaction, sending lots of love your way. 😊
So happy you're reacting to lana. I know, as you said in the video, you prefer reacting to live performances but could you possible react to one of her videos aswell. Your classically trained and know about a wide range of music. You also seem to appreciate theatrics when it comes to music and lana is one of the few artists where her visuals are just as important as her sound, which has changed in style over the years. I feel like you would appreciate the artistry of her videos to enhance her music. Love all your videos btw
I used to be obsessed with Lana. I love her she really creates this character of old Hollywood glamour. Her range and style of shifting between those lows and highs represent the glitz and glamour of old Hollywood; while revealing some of the truths of it. Fascinating :)
I'm a huge Lana fan, but I think she's more of a studio artist than a live artist. It's hard to capture the mysterious, ethereal quality she has in the studio and her music is best listened to with head phones.
I love this reaction! I also think Lana was soooo vulnerable at this moment! I saw this performance when i was live and it was such a performance that really really gets to you! Just amazing. I miss these kind if authentic artists!
I love lana live and on records.... either way for me, she makes amazing, detailed music and that’s what I love❤️❤️hope you listen to more of her recent music xx
She has some serious stage fright and this an example of one of her really nervous performances. Bless her❤️ She many awesome confident moments. You should react to *Lana Del Rey's best live vocals, by popcrush*
It’s been forever since you’ve done a throwback vid Tara, could you check out Ms. Patti LaBelle doing “somewhere over the rainbow” live at the MLK tribute. She’s such a powerhouse.
This was fairly early in her career. I actually first saw and heard her in March 2012 on American Idol, singing her viral hit Video Games, and I thought she was the perfect antidote to all the high-pitched autotuned pop, a throwback style. Although I don't follow her as much now, I did research and follow her for quite a while. She had a previous album under the name Lizzy Grant (her real name is Elizabeth Grant, and she's a natural blonde), and an even earlier demo album recorded in 2006, Sirens, using the name May Jailer, that was "leaked" on RU-vid in 2012. In those albums she sang in a higher pitched voice, and of course would jump back and forth between the higher and lower voices in many of her later songs. Singing in a lower voice was a deliberate decision she made because she thought she would be taken more seriously if she sang in a lower voice. Maybe the same reason for getting rid of her natural blonde hair. She was a bit insecure the year she sang this song because she started the year in January with a live performance of Video Games on Saturday Night Live, which was maybe slightly less good than usual but the audience and critics just weren't prepared for her style, and savaged her. About a year later she was performing in Europe, and between songs while the crowd was cheering she turned her back to them and started crying. Because of all the criticism of the previous year she felt like she was a fraud and didn't deserve the applause, or something to that effect. I'm not sure about her being shy but one thing I observed is that she would go into the middle of a crowd of fans without any protection, signing autographs and kissing people--I was scared for her watching those videos. Feminists criticized Video Games for catering to a man, and when she was asked if she was interested in feminist causes, she said she is not interested in that, she's more interested in new technology like Tesla and space exploration. She has gotten to the top and did it her way. Feminists should admire her.
Great reaction Tara, thank you 🤗 You should react more to Lana, she really improved her vocals and stage presence. I would like to recommend reacting to EXO. EXO is one of the most popular and most successful Kpop bands ever. They are named Kings of Kpop and have the best vocal line in Kpop. They are known for outstanding vocals and harmonizing. They are one of the best performers, able to sing and dance at the same time. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Lo7tMgoHXrs.html This is a compilation of some of their best live vocals in past 5 years, although they have many more worth-reaction performances. TIA 🥰
Totally fine to not watch the video for the reaction, but definitely worth a watch! The official video has a lovely poem that gets out in the beginning and continued at the end and it’s EVERYTHING.
You should react to Agoraphobic or E-Girls are Ruining My Life by Corpse Husband, or We Will Rock You by In This Moment, both of these people have crazy voices.
I so wish you would react to Mónica Naranjo!! She is such superb talent and her vocal range and tecniuque is beyond!! You could react to Europa, please!! I love your videos, by the way :D
She's not the best singer but there's something to it that makes her voice so unique and enchanting! I hope you keep reacting more of her live performances or maybe some of those "best vocals" videos
Listen to more of her recent performances also the show at Park live festival was very good or her shows durin endless summer tour or la to the moon tour 💗
Tara!! Loved this one ♡ Happy New Year to you and your family! I have given up asking for Ben Platt and his brother BUT would love for you to react to the brand new Cimorelli Lewis Capaldi Medley! Its my fave when you react to them!
Hey, Tara! You should do a reaction of Mariah singing Anytime you need a friend Live at Tokyo Dome (1996). The performance is impeccable! Love from Brazil
You should start a series, taking a random ‘watcher’ on as a student (who can’t sing) and watch as his/her singing progresses with your coaching... like a long-term “sing better in seconds” where the crowd likes the students personality and invests in your growing coach/mentee relationship!
actually her technique is pretty good! but more importantly she channels pure raw emotion and vulnerability. Those are more rare than amazing technique anyway. There are tons of great vocal coaches with amazing technique but they never sell millions or records.
Tara, think you are great. Time for a rock singer again!! Please check out Watch Over You by Alter Bridge. Billboard version. Love to hear your critique.
I would recommend you to watch Valerie Carpentier, She’s the first winner of La voix (The voice in Quebec/Ca) She have a beautiful and special voice and she even cover Video Game from Lana during her time on La Voix. Enjoy and the you’ll see if a reaction is in order ;). Full love and health for you and your team!! 😊🖤💎
