This isn't really my thing, but I've got to say I'm well impressed with this performance and how well everything goes together. The acting, the costuming, the singing... It's really fun to watch
Too many things were missed due to you being TOO busy talking. You missed the snakes coming out of his mouth…You missed several of the really good notes because you were talking. You missed some of the wording, some of the facial expressions of the other guys. I totally love Geoff, but this is more than one person singing. And they are all VERY good. You really need to go back and watch it again, without comment (just for you).
The one thing I love about VP is that they go all in. Costume, make up, set, character voices, lighting and they all get into character for the video. It's like watching a clip from a musical.
@@amandasamson4513 Tim is a freaking subwoofer. Listen to Sold! I swear the guy is the one that causes some earthquakes. They should use a Richter Scale not a piano to measure the magnitude of his bass.

I'm sad she missed the little riff that Geoff did after "To add a little spice". Please react to more of Voiceplay!!!! Especially Queen where Geoff is awesome again.
To be fair, I had to listen to it a couple of times to really make out that 6 note riff. I saw him doing something in the background and it sounded so natural that it's easy to miss.
I sang Southern Gospel quartet professionally for over 10 years and I can't get close to that last note. I only knew 2 or 3 who could even approach it. Phenomenal!!! I've heard he has a 5 octive range?
YESSSSS, THANKS SO MUCH FOR REACTING! I’m pretty sure the last note was an E1, which is crazy. Geoff is crazy impressive especially with his range. If you would like another VoicePlay suggestion, I would suggest panic in 4 minutes and Queen in 5 minutes. Both of which showcase their abilities as a group, and also some Geoff attention (as we are all happy for). Thank you, but it's not always great to be a bass singer. I'm a bass and I've always envied those that can sing high notes. Sure, bass is a rarer voice type, but that doesn't compensate for the fact that I can't sing 90% of pop songs nowadays without going one to two octave lower, perhaps failing to sing even then.
Exactly the reaction I was hoping to see, both to the song and Geoff as the lead! That was a solid subharmonic E1 (and Geoff is so good at subharmonics it's sickening!), and he peaks in this song at a (edit: B4... off by an octave) truly impressive. Their storytelling and videography are on-point, too. When you get some time, take a watch/listen to their "Queen in 5 Minutes" medley or - if you want some more Geoff Lead - "Daddy Sang Bass."

I adore your technical evaluations of what's happening in these videos. They explain the *reasons* WHY I love what I'm hearing. I am an acappella addict and you are an 'enabler'. Your passing reference to Citizen Queen just got me hooked on another group
It's the lowest E on my keyboard (45 keys). Geoff is constantly compared to Avi and Tim Foust and they're all insanely good. Oh and also can you react to PTX’s live performance of Can’t Sleep Love at Popspring 2016? It was amazingg
I really really love Geoff's voice. He is usually compared to Tim and Avi but i think he has the better voice out of them. His singing just sounds smoother compared to the others.
I love watching you react to Geoff's low notes because I find them to be insane as well. Thanks for doing this for us and keep up the great reaction work. You are the most enjoyable.

Love the visual for the last note too, the sorta low subharmonic matched with such a dark, evil tonality when paired with his posture and how he seemed to be drawing from the depths of something in the way he stood and held his hands

@WoefulMinion I used software to listen to this bass run an octave higher and slowed down. I believe that this is the progression that Geoff sings: They are singing in the key of Db (or C#) Using Db here, his notes are: Db, B, Ab, Gb, E, Db, Ab with the second to last note being Db1. Or the run is 1, flat 7, 5, 4, flat 3, 1, then back up to the 5. During the entire run he uses subharmonics as explained in his own subharmonics tutorial video.
I was always the one who loved listening to Shere Khan sing the last line of _That's What Friends Are For_ in _The Jungle Book_ and hearing the C2, but listening to Geoff hit that Subharmonic E1 was so much better.

Geoff's voice is crazy. Even when he's in a low octave very few singers can reach, he'll drop another full octave. I think the lowest I've heard him reach was C1. Dude keeps practicing he might hit a negative.
Thanks know House you feel about his low voice, I love it too. He’s probably my top 3 most favorite singers. It’s also cool how he sing a background part when the other singers sing the main part instead of taking a break.
Geoff is certainly special. It is great to see bassist featured. Geoff has some of his own stuff that is pretty great as well. 16 Tons and Headless Horesman are really fun. VoicePlay does their own version of The Grinch, too, and it is a lot of fun.
I just discovered this today, Geoff is the closest to my voice that I’ve ever heard. I can actually sing as low as he can. I was thrilled to hear this. I just wish I was as good as him. And I can’t seem nearly as high as him, I’m working on it. I love doing this song at karaoke, and Bare Necessities. That seems to be my voice range.
"I gotta listen to that ending note one last time" Me thinks that won't be the last time she goes to hear it again and again, over and over, turned up, bass up full...
Tim Foust was lower during the Sing Off on Life is a Highway. He also goes lower on Sold, the live version of Ring of Fire, and several others. React to Tim Foust's vocal range. Geoff is good no doubt, but he can't beat Tim.
@@MrMaddoggy123 They are both good. I'm not sure of Geoff's range but Tim's is 5 octaves. Geoff has a deeper tone tone and he also considers himself a baritone with a bass range. He is more comfortable staying within about 4 octaves. Listen to Home Free's Do you hear what I Hear. Tim goes way down there. If you want to get an idea of his range, listen to their cover of Josh Turner's Your Man. Both men are very good basses, just with different styles.
This is really good he looks just like the guy that has long hair in the band Home Free if you didn't know better you would think it's him they even have the same voice very interesting it's good
There is no instrument more interesting, more versatile nor more exciting than the human voice. When you put your mind to it, the human voice can almost simulate any other instrument. Layne from Voiceplay proves this with his beat boxing. Geoff can also sound so much like a bass guitar that many are not sure if it is a voice or a guitar making the sound. But it's acapella, so it's a human voice. Geoff Castelucci also has his own channel where he does acapella but with all parts being played by himself. If you like low notes, try Misty Mountains Cold or Blackbird.
It's an E1 subharmonic. I think that high note to the bottom of the barrel is a full 4 octaves. He has an A0 growl, B0 subharmonic, F1 full chest, B4 mix although not always, Bb5 falsetto. Do Hellfire which was their Halloween one last year, Creep is amazing.
Breaks my heart that my hearing loss has taken away the ability to hear deep low notes. every time I see reactions of shock to a sound I can't hear.... it hurts a bit
have you tried feeling a speaker? or holding a speaker t your chest, to feel the sounds and sometimes hear it in your bones like you hear your own voice sometimes
Yes same!! My illness should normally let me become deaf to high tones but.... Yeah no... Starting to not hear the low notes. It still works if its loud or on headphones but....
The lower notes in songs that im aware of are Sold, Honey I'm Good, Yours, and the live versions of Your man when he hits a super low vocal fry but most compilations count it as part of his range. Its like a G0 i believe.
Seeing the videos where vocal coaches listen to good bass vocalists really drives home how hard it is of bass vocalists to learn. Most of us have to teach ourselves.
I am proud to say that watching these singers (tim geoff and Avi) has pushed my vocal range from 2.5 octaves to a healthy 4. A1 to A5 if you're curious.
Tim Faust hits that note in a song he did with Peter Hollens, "Misty Mountains". Also Please please please react to Home Free's cover of Mayday by CAM. Tim Faust starts the song with a surprise.
Dimash Qudaibergen has sung a G0 (the most impressive thing about this is that he has also done a D8 inhale whistle) but Tim Storms has gone to a G-7 (0.189 Hz)
The end note is a subharmonic E1. He learned the technique from Tim Foust, bass for Home Free. Tim's range is A0 to A5. Tim, Avi and Geoff have learned from each other and are all good friends.
