I’m glad you’ve finally broached VoicePlay. Their Queen in Five Minutes is incredible. If you want something with Rachel again, I’d recommend their Phantom of the Opera.

Tara! Layne is a good friend of mine from down south. Here are their names for future videos you might see of theirs (I hope you watch all of them!): Earl is Tenor 1/Countertenor Eli (pronounced like "Elly", short for Eliezer) is Lead/Tenor Geoff (pronounced "Jeff") is Bass Layne is Vocal Percussion They had another main member named Tony who is on hiatus, so their fifth member is usually a featured soloist. Yes!! So glad you discovered VoicePlay! As you may have realized, Rachel is not a permanent member of the group, but a frequent collaborator. And all of the guys are fantastic, but I especially think Layne and Geoff are a couple of the best vocal percussionists and basses, respectively, out there! Definitely hoping to see you react to more of their stuff!

Geoff actually stops after Rachel sings "I have crossed the horizon to find you." you can hear the pause then he gets lower.

I've been a fan of them for like 2 years now but don't listen to them that often and watching this makes me wonder why I haven't, they're AWESOME!!!!

It's funny, I was hoping you would react to VoicePlay for a while. Some great songs from them I strongly suggest everyone check out (they're all great, but let's narrow it down): Queen in 5 Minutes, This is Halloween, Grim Grinning Ghosts, Bridge Over Troubled Water. For those new to VoicePlay, let's go over names. Bass- Geoff, Beatbox- Layne, Tenor 1- Earl (back right), Tenor 2- Eli (pronounced like Ellie, he's in the back left), and not featured in this video is J. None, who is the newest member of the group. Rachel is not an official member of VoicePlay, but they do collaborate with her pretty often. In older videos, you'll see Tony, who left the group about 2 years ago.

You should react to Tim Fousts vocal range! He's got a five octave vocal range and its absolutely incredible!!

The low notes, which sounds like an instrument (B1 and G1) are subharmonic notes. It is a technique, where you normally sing one octave higher (B2 and G2) but with that technique the human being hear it one octave lower.

Tara's such a good singer, she often copies a line that they sang on the spot, and it's always bang on. For instance there's a slight trill on "*who* you are" at 8:35, which makes it very pretty. Rachel did it, then Tara did. Most would miss the trill. Tara's a pro.

Mark Lowry's note in Mary, Did You Know at 3:27 is of similar length, but you should hear Johnny Mathis' note on Pieces of Dreams at 4:00 that he did on the Johnny Carson show. I first heard it the night of the show decades ago. The NBC orchestra overwhelms him some and the tape is old, but WOW! That performance is one of top 3 or 4 Magical Musical Moments of my life. Wonderful songs by Lowry and Legrand, awesome performers - Lowry and Mathis.Geoff Castellucci is just plain otherworldly.

Hello, if you ever react to C-pop could you do one on JJ Lin, hes a Singaporean singer-songwriter, one of the best singers in the Chinese music industry now. He is even dubbed as the “Walking CD” by the Chinese media for being able to replicate the sound quality of his studio recordings on live stages. Would love to see how a vocal coach will react to his vocals 😊 His most well-known song will be Twilight, which won the Pensado award for Best Non-English songs.

The girl singing did did an audition at x factor and sang a country ish version of somebody to love by Queen. Good to see she made it somewhere with a deal of some sort or whatever this is. She's good. Watch the audition

This group will knock your socks off. Check out their phantom of the opera that is my favorite VoicePlay.

I was listening to Geoff’s low “didjeridoo” type hold over and over to try to figure out how long he held it for and I think he actually did take a sneaky breath. I could be wrong, but after the transition to the dark theme and Rachel sings her first line and then the background harmony comes in before his note change. I’m pretty sure he takes a breath just before the note change while the harmony after Rachel’s first line covers for him. Nobody is matching his note for him to take a breath or anything like that, but they’re much louder and just the volume of their harmony is enough for him to sneak a breath before he changes notes. Like I said, I may be wrong but I listened to it over and over again with it bass boosted to make him stand out more and it’s tricky to tell but I’m pretty sure that’s what they did.

This is a big reason why I subbed and watch these. I've never heard of Voiceplay, but I want to! And I would feel more like a dope for not having heard of them but even Tara is new to them. If you loved Geoff (which you clearly did 😁) then check out the Oogie Boogie song. It's a bop of a Halloween song and he sings lead. I love it, as do many, *many* other people. Also, This Is Halloween is amazing and hey, so is the Queen medley because 1) Queen, and 2) VoicePlay. 😊 (Edity-edit: Their ACA Top Ten of Disney Villains is fantastic and showcases all of them individually really well. That might be a good one to look at.)

Geoff, not Layne is the bass with the nice hair, and long deep notes. He has his own channel where he sings all the parts and harmonies with his 5 octave range. Last name Castallucci. Believe me Geoff is NEVER under appreciated, in fact, most of us fans, just wait for his low notes and subharmonics.
