Poets of the Fall is a band I never expected to see on a reaction channel... I discovered them through my favorite fictional non-existent band ever... Old God's of Asgard. A fictional 70s era metal band, featured in a video game. PotF wrote and performed several songs as the band for the game. Their OGoA stuff is pretty dang good as well.

I've loved their music ever since I heard "Lift" in the end of the Futuremark 3D Benchmark test software (essentially, an extensive 3D demo that tests 3D card capabilities) and then heard them play an acoustic version of Late Goodbye, the theme song of the game Max Payne 2, on a Finnish talk show. PotF is one of those bands I've been buying physical CD's from, to support the band. I've seen them live 3 times, when they've been to my home town Pori, two times in the audience with my wife and once, as part of concert security. Love Marko's voice. And as a nerd who once dabbled with computer programming (did graphics and dabbled with coding, mainly on C-64, then moved on to Amiga), I love the fact that their keyboard player was Captain from the Amiga demo scene!

Thank you so much, Beth! I'm happy you found Marko's voice as beautiful as I do (and this song, which is my favorite song in the entire world :-) ). Since you mentioned his baritone range and noted a couple of spots where he goes into his head voice for higher notes, I thought it would be interesting to show his range for anyone unfamiliar with his vocals. Contrast his deep baritone in the song False Kings ( ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vkweStbjjSE.html ) to his clear, sweet falsetto in Cradled in Love ( ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bp0AHQooVSY.html ). I'm a contralto (or a low mezzo soprano, depending on what reference you look at), but I have trouble singing Cradled in Love in the original key because the low notes are out of my range--but when I raise it up so the lowest notes are just barely reachable, the high notes are right on the bleeding edge of my high range (and this from a song written by a man with a gorgeous, deep baritone voice :-P ).

Been a huge fan of the highly underrated Poets for many, many years so its lovely to see a lesser known band feature in a video like this. I took my girlfriend, a live gig veteran from the festival days to see them in concert last year and she was stunned how he sounded exactly the same live as he does on studio recordings. After the gig she looked at me amazed and just said *"that's the best live band I've ever seen and the best concert I've ever been to!"* I'll be seeing them for the 3rd time this year and she's eager to come along for her second experience.

SO so so glad you did made this video. I hope others follow suit and react to PotF songs. They deserve way way more recognition and I'm so delighted to have someone say such positive things about them; I hope people see this and look up more of their songs.

Thank you Beth, Jennifer & (probably) a Swedish site for giving this Finnish alternative rock band what it certainly deserves. For that I decided to subscribe. P.S. Love your singing as well.

I listened to the studio version of this song years ago when it was new and I loved it then, and it's even better live! Thank you for this reaction! The music video was very cool, but the creative runs in this are well worth sacrificing.

You clearly know what you're talking about and it was a delight to see you experience the song from start to finish. Consider yourself followed! =)

They are *immensely* talented, and a solid recommendation for... well pretty much anyone. Rock without being too heavy, and so much skill *and* passion from everyone in the band. Been listening to them for almost two decades now (Late Goodbye in Max Payne 2 had me hooked), and how they manage to deliver at this insane level to this day is extremely impressive. During the pandemic they did an acoustic show without audience at a Finnish theatre (the Alexander Theatre in Helsinki) and it's amazing. And that comes from a Swedish metalhead. :) Great to see them, and especially Marko, getting the love they deserve. Thanks, Beth!
