Sia kind of breaks the rules of singing technique and makes it work for her. She has the best voice cracks.

She’s made a career out of all the things a vocal coach would tell you not to do. Fries, screams, cracks. She has so much control it’s insane.

Sia one of the best voice out there

Sia is one of the few vocalists of the last decade that is consistently moving. There are so many great technicians today, but I feel nothing when I listen to them. Sia is magnificent though, and she doesn't sound like anyone else (to my knowledge).

Sia is just herself. That's it. No one is like her, what makes her unique. Besides, she produces a number of hits for many top singers, and movies soundtracks. Pure talent.

Her singing Chandelier live always impresses me the most. Her vocal delivery meshes so well with the lyrical content. The way she sings it always sounds like she's barely holding herself together and is right on the edge of just breaking down completely. I know it's a conscious choice on her part and that's what makes it so impressive to me. Really feel that one.

Pay attention people. Sia is the 1st female artist that reach 5 vids over than 1 B views on YT. Chandelier, Cheapthrills, Titanium, Elastic heart, Dusk till dawn. Only Sia, no other female artists can do it. Maybe no one can break it. Respect her peoples. Pay attention that we are the witness of her being a Legend. 5 - 10 years again shes a Legendary, one of the best Singer/Songwriter/Composer/Performer in music history. A complete package artists, n i dare to say her writing n composing skill are match of legendary Joni Mitchell, thats my immense respect for her.

Sia makes unique work like no one else, maybe ever. And such a brilliant songwriter. Her SNL performance of "Chandelier" broke me.

Sia's Breathe Me, Live at Sydney has such an interesting riff at the end where she echoes the backing instruments and then lets out this wonderul scream, is probably my favourite performance of hers - I'd love to hear your opinion of it

Sia is tough to vocal coach. She sings at an impact level of probably much less than 1% of 1% of the world's population can. She brings tears to people's eyes with her power and tone.

I love her songs and how she sings, I think she's the one who breaks the rules of singing by singing from her heart and her songs are so deeply meaningful even you sometimes don't understand what she sings but it looks good on her !

The 2 second song of Sia was in sight language

Not saying anything anyone else hasn't said, but yeah, it's really the emotion. I just can't listen to someone like, say, Adele. Her voice literally makes me feel dead inside. She's an emotional black hole. That's the kind of music my girlfriend listens to. I'm more of a rock person, and rock vocalists are generally kinda raw and untrained. Coheed, Dinosaur Jr., The Strokes, etc. Sia somehow bridges a gap to where both me and my girlfriend can love her performance. She's got vocal chops enough for my girlfriend and makes a lot of pop songs, but she hasn't "perfected," her voice into an emotionless vacuum, either. Also, idk if you've seen interviews or anything where she just talks, but the difficulty in understanding her might not have anything to do with her singing technique. She has a ridiculously thick Australian accent. I can barely understand wtf she's saying when she's just talking.

The Mezzo-sopranos in my conservatory are unable to sing any Sia's song. This girl reaches high C notes, and is instantly down 1 octave, with optional cracks. She is unacademic. I think she could sing opera in her range if she wished.

Sia's best stuff was all pre 2010, it's a shame she never got much recognition until Chandelier, her earlier stuff was less commercial and poppy and had so much more soul.

Not only an incredible vocalist but such a great song writer . There aren't to many modern artists that she hasn't written for. She's a South Australian and went to school with another great Aussie act the Hill top Hoods who are Aussie hip hop royalty , did a song together after meeting up as kids at the bus stop.

Hang on I like hearing Beth critique singers, however, Sia is really a great singer but the techniques that she uses she's not the first one to do it. I would say the men and women that did it before her need a mention Ray Charles Janis Joplin, Stevie Nicks, Aretha Franklin, Robert Plant, Freddie Mercury, Prince, Jeff Buckley, Amy Winehouse. All the extra's that vocal teachers may say go away or off the page from how to learn to sing is what makes these singers better then all the rest. It comes down to soul. You can train or build up vocal support and have power, but you have soul or you don't like Joe Cocker for instance.

You are like an NFL QB coach....wanting to change them after they made it to the big leagues....but why? If its them being themselves, LET IT ALONE

My vocal coach says SIA sounds like she has cotton in her mouth. I hear it and I get it but, her songs are amazing!!!!!! The quality of her songs far out weigh the negative aspects of the tone of her voice. I'm saying it, I like the sound of people singing with cotton in their mouth.

I imagine writing the songs helps her be unconventional because she understands totally what she is singing about...she knows how to convey the emotion because it's hers not a reindition or an interpretation
