Yes she is singing on top of a backing track in many of these clips but her real voice is very distinguishable on top of them. Mostly used for layering and because she doesn't usually sing with backing singers on stage and she does all the voices so naturally is going to be a studio version backtrack. Her sound designers also add some reverberance and some mild effects for some songs which is very standard in live concerts. The "effects" that you are hearing that seem very abrupt is actually the editing of the video going from different sound qualities and volumes with blending and transitions is not like they had those effects on mic or at the live shows. That is her real live singing voice but how it sounds with different qualities of videos and different sound engineering on the many shows this is from. Lastly, concert DVDs also modify the sound to not hear the audience so loud so while some clips are from concert DVD some others are fancams or just different quality broadcasting so when they made this compilation they made some transitions in the sound. The live vocals you are hearing are all hers just through different qualities of recording. Taeyeon is amazing and she sounds great even in fancams. Actually when SNSD debuted they didn't add any mic effects, nor post editing, sometimes with no backtracks, the girls didn't even wear ear pieces while singing live but they still sounded great.

Her voice is tired sometimes because she sings over 20 songs on her concerts! Haha. And her songs are crazy challenging xD!

lately i heard she sang When We Were Young from TV Shows Begin Again 3. so emotional. when it come to singing, you can trust her.
