Actually, Scott is wearing what are called "aqua socks." They are used to walk in water, and Scott uses them for grip on his double-kick bass drum pedals.

She should hear the Song "Legacy", from thier latest album, Abyss. That's even crazier vocal layering and Birttney said she discoverd how awesome that sounds by accident.

It seems to me, personally, that great singers are not as common in mainstream music. But those who are there get the same appreciation as great metal singers. Watch any female vocal coach react to Dimash Kuidabergen. Lots of fangirling there.

@@rabiatorthegreat6163 Mainstream music used to be much more about talent, vocal, instrumental, and just in terms of challenging songwriting; but then MTV came along, and suddenly all you needed to be a pop star was a cute face and a nice butt. Since then, really starting with the new generation coming in in the 1990s and the older artists starting to fade away, mainstream pop music has largely devolved into inane, simplistic, auto-tuned dreck. There's as many musically talented people as there ever were, more, if anything. They're just not getting the attention they deserve, because they're drowned out by manufactured musical "product" being promoted on mainstream channels. Also, playing the crap out of an instrument or being a great singer just isn't important in a hip-hop dominated musical landscape. Folks keep saying new music sucks, but that only shows them to be lazy people who can't be bothered to actually do the work of looking for it, they just want to be spoonfed. People who rely on mainstream channels for their exposure to new music these days, are basically musically illiterate. Every year, there is an absolute deluge of fantastic new music from amazingly talented people in so many genres (including pop, just not mainstream pop), if certain people can't find good new music, that's on them. Sorry, I'm ranting.

@@Broccoli_Highkicks I mostly agree, but people not finding (good) new music seems more disinterest than laziness to me. It is easy these days to jump from one good RU-vid video to another, just following the recommendations. Or browse some music-related forum and try the music recommended there. That is not work, that is pleasure. At least once you have found a good starting point. Which can depend a bit on luck and happen later than you might have hoped for. As another vocal coach once said in a reaction to Nightwish: "Symphonic Metal, where have you been all my life?"
