J-hope's mother was also among the audience at the concert, and J-hope said that his mother cried a lot after watching this performance.

Hobi is definitely an A+ performer. His Lollapalooza concert was just outstanding

Evidently his mother worked 2 jobs just to help finance J-Hope's early career. A rare case of a dancer/singer with full support of family members.

In my opinion, this is one of the best stages in BTS history. Like it stole the show at the Wings concert. And it was kind of the moment where Hoseok's place among the greats as a world class showman was promised. He took us all to church and he delivered something so moving and powerful and really joyful and sincere. We've seen over and over since this stage how strong of a performer he is and he's very widely recognized as one of the best in the industry but this is where it really hit that we all had something extraordinary on our hands with him. And can we talk about the vocals?? He's up there doing belts with vibrato and runs and pitch-perfect falsettos...like?? So good. Mama wasn't one of my favorite solos of the Wings series off of just the studio versions but live for live for live, Mama is just so far above and beyond for me. And it's an incredible series of solos so that's saying something. Thank you for reacting!

I love how bts takes old classic sounds and makes them sound completely new. 💜 JHope's stage presence is unmatched. And this is seriously the sweetest song ever! 💜

Jhope and BTS in general are the kings of using upbeat music with the saddest lyrics.....as RM once said....this is not a happy song....When you grow up and finally realize the pain and suffering that your parents went through for you that you never realized as a child.

I've read/watched somewhere that jhope have his mother listen to the song before it even release and his mom cry after that. He makes sure that his mother listens to it first before anyone else 🥹🥹

The wild thing is this is a dancer and a rapper and then he can sing like this? Also welled up big time as a mom. I would be so proud.

7:15 This is my fav part of this performance, when J-Hope walks in silence all the way back to the mic on the main stage and then just speaks his lines with such emotion.

This is on the same album as Suga's First love, the Wings album. I would say you can call that the beginning of their solo career. They each had a solo song, given the freedom to write about whatever they want... In the spirit of the album of course, youth , the difficult transition from teen to almost adult, something personal. So you can see exactly who they were at that stage of their life.

JHope is such a good singer! Love when he raps, love when he sings. And he dances, writes and produces! Such an all rounder artist!

This performance always gives me chills and brings a tear to my eye. Such a beautiful tribute for his mom. 💜

The best thing is how unexpected BTS is in how they explore music. The glen miller type bits and how upbeat it is but it’s a bit of a sad song yet fun. It’s poignant with the huge choir. He’s such an amazing performer that grabs a whole stadium. As a mom this truly speaks to me, may my kids realize I love them like this.

There’s actually quite a bit of rap songs about moms, starting with Tupac for instance.

He is such a performer!!! He's called Golden Hyung (the golden older one) because he does it all without fear or despite fear. He may not be talented in other fields but in his industry he is definately a reference (inside BTS he is considered the second leader). And I don't think it is coincidental that both Jin and J-hope were assigned as Instructors and reached Sargeant roles. 😍😍💜

J Hope has the most beautiful heart. I just know his mother is so incredibly proud. He is not only incredibly talented at singing, rapping, and dancing, but he's also extremely empathetic and just so sweet.

Fun fact - the "Wings" album (which I've been promoting nonstop lol) was what earned BTS their first Daesang award in 2016, and gave them their first major break. "First love" and "Lie" also came from this album, so you can see why this is the album that made history for them 😊 Unfortunately, this was an extremely emotionally difficult time for them. Their career was blossoming but still shaky, and they were getting so much harassment from all over the industry. I believe it was Suga who said that this was the era that made him realize hard work didnt always pay off.

I love this so much💜 because: 1) I'm a mother with wonderful children so I could relate to this sweet, thoughtful gesture to his mother; 2) I loved how sensitive he is and that he's willing to be vulnerable especially when he told his mom that he loved her (this got me) and 3) His beautiful smile and sunshine personality while he was performing makes me happy. Thanks for the reaction!

I love everything about this song. And the beginning: "time travel" - also musically. And a tribute to his mum ❤ His mum took another job in another city to support Hobi's dance dream. It took his dad a bit more time to support but then he come round too. But it seems mum was there on it from the beginning and so she has this song ❤

This normal in Rap to sing to your mom. It’s that out of the box. For someone who grew up with Hip hop this is normal.

this literally made me sobbed and cried buckets.... the emotions that hobi evoked is so sincere and just amazing, do watch his Lollapalooza performance it will blow your mind away :) if you like Beattles, Jimin's new released single Smeraldo Garden Marching Band on 28 june last week was inspired by them, do check it out, its such a sweet and beautiful happy song :)
