I think you misinterpreted the title of the RU-vid video and incorrectly assumed that 歌いました is the Japanese name of the song and 罪と罰 is the Japanese name of the artist, but this isn't the case. 罪と罰 is the Japanese name of the song. The artist uses "Ado" in both English and Japanese. If it *needs* to be written in Japanese, it's spelled アド, but she usually writes it in with Latin characters from what I've seen. 歌いました is just the Japanese word for "sung". So your title should be: "Vocal Coach & Songwriters First Time Reaction to Crime & Punishment (罪と罰) - Ado (アド)"

I would like to recommend you DROWNING by WOODZ. A song that make u want to scream together with him while singing this song but also your heart suddenly full of sick feeling that ready to blown up and cry. His vocals is so unique and amazing. He debut as a rapper, but now he's officially an all-rounder with amazing skill in many field (rap, vocal, choreo, even he's always be one of the important person behind all his songs in writing, composing, etc bcs i dont remember the way to say it, sorry). He did 3 octave highnote here. Actually in the demo (also made and sung by him) its a little higher, but bcs his throat was sick on the recording day so he made it a little lower (lower he said, but for me its still higher than what i could do, lol). ado is very nice. However, if you compare it to Shiina Ringo, it sounds like a girl with little life experience still screaming. If you compare it to Shiina Ringo... Of course, this is my personal opinion.

If you listened to the live version of this same song, she almost couldn't finish the song. She barely made it and her voice was tattered, weak by mid song. I wish she doesn't torture her own voice this way.

Just a trivia, Ado actually means a side character in Kyōgen (japanese comic theatre depicting real life). She used that name because she wanted to be a side character to her music. That's probably another reason that she doesn't reveal her face.

She was actually the first female solo artist that performed in the Kokuritsu Kyougijou, the Japan National Stadium earlier this year. She completely sold out 80k tickets and that two days in a row. On her world tour she also sold out a 7.5k cap venue in Germany and a 14k cap venue in Belgium. She probably could've also sold out way bigger venues in the US, too, but I think they kind of underestimated her popularity outside of Japan. And what you talked about afterwards, the anonymity, is actually because she is very conscious of herself and extremely introverted (at least it started out that way), that's at least one reason why she doesn't want people to know how she looks like and anything about her. Her voice was always the only thing she was really confident about when it comes to herself. I think she'll keep it that way until she gets either forcefully "unmasked" or doesn't want to do music anymore.

one thing i think is not talked enough about is how the mystery behind her identity has influenced the artists that work on her music videos to completely revolutionize her 2D appearance with each song. there's a lot to praise when it comes with these artists, alongside the people that edit the video together; they themselves have as much freedom with the visuals as ado has with her vocals. much like her voice, who can have infinite shades and tones, her "cartoon persona" can become whoever she wants. she can be a waitress turned baseball player in one(ready made), a fabricated product of an imperfect god(gira gira), a rebellious teenager(usseewa and her new song rule), a character from one piece (all her songs for the movie for the character uta), in the same way figures like miku hatsune (if you're not aware she's a vocaloid, a synthetized computer-ish voice that you can play basically as an instrument, but also has an identity of her own and an appearance) or even barbie, if you've seen the movie, which puts value in her FREEDOM to be anything she wants. yasutatsu and wooma are my favorite artists that have worked with ado, having drawn ready made, motherland, show(yasutatsu), usseewa, tot musica(wooma). wooma is the one who drew the "original" iconic ado design, matching her aggressive vocals perfectly.
