Angelina just turned 9 two months before she recorded this. It wasn't released until she was 10. She was 6 when she met a homeless girl, around 7, weighing people to support her younger siblings. It was cold and the girl had no shoes. Angelina gave her the shoes she was wearing and promised to always remember her by not wearing shoes on stage until all children had shoes. She was 6!! She is now 16 and holds onto that promise.

Great reaction. The story of her bare feet is one of unbelievable commitment and caring. When she was 6 years old, she was traveling in the middle east (her grandmother is Iranian), and she came across a young girl close to her age who was working in the street offering to weigh people with a bathroom scale for money. She had no shoes on her feet and her feet were cracked and in pretty bad shape. They talked for a while and then the little girl mentioned how nice she thought Angelina's shoes were. Angelina asked her if she had any shoes and she said no, so Angelina gave her the shoes off her feet. Angelina asked her what her dreams were and the little girl said she wanted to be a doctor. Angelina told the little girl that she wanted to be a star and sing for the world. The little girl told Angelina she would pray for her every day and asked Angelina to not forget about her. Angelina made a promise at that time that any time she sang in public she would sing barefoot to remember this little girl and bring awareness to the suffering of children around the world. To this day, over 9 years later, she has stayed true to that commitment. She remains a very grounded and humble young lady She has spent the past 9 years pouring out her soul and her talent to help people who are not as fortunate as her. She donated much, if not most of her winnings from Norway's Got Talent to children's charities and has performed in benefit concerts across the globe in support of disadvantaged children and other social causes (raising over 20 million Euros).

Angelina’s Mother is from Norway, Daddy Swedish, Granny Irani and Grandpa was Japanese, so English is her fifth language because if she was to become a singing star she had t0 sing in English. Around age 6 the family lived in Iran for six months and one day AJ saw a homeless girl, her age, weighing people on a bathroom scale for whatever coins they would give her. AJ talked to her for a while and the girl told her she had wanted to become a Doctor. AJ told her to not give up hope. AJ had on her most favorite pair of Teal color boots but gave them to her anyway. The girl was reluctant to take them but eventually did saying she would pray everyday for AJ and all the kids with no shoes. AJ told her that when she saw her singing with no shoes, she would know that AJ had not forgot about her and would do whatever she could for the other children. When AJ got back to Norway she wrote a book about it. Her Granny, a Prodigy herself. Illustrated the book and AJ becam the youngest published arthor in Norways history at qge 6.

She was actually 10 months younger than ten years.

We angels (fans) continue to remain patient as Angelina's family doesn't want Republic Records (signed August 2020 at age 14) to promote her yet which is very wise. *Here is why Angelina performs barefoot.* At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. she was nine years old and the shoes story was not at a concert...she was in Iran traveling with her family and a girl street vendor who earned money weighing people and was obviously poor and without shoes. This girl looked at Angelina's shoes and said she liked them. Angelina then took them off and gave them to her. Angelina wants to bring awareness to the great number of children in this world who go without any shoes. What a sweetheart!!! In my opinion Screamin' Jay Hawkins' performance was actually quite inferior to Angelina's rendition. PS Her father and grandmother are Iranian and her grandmother, who often appears close by during Angelina's recordings, is a great source of inspiration as an artist and I believe would have been the one who introduced her to jazz. I saw her being filmed at home in Norway for a television interview where she was showing everyone her bedroom which displayed much of her creative interests as well as her dolls. She was also shown going into a record store called "Raw Jazz" where she picked out albums and could sit and listen to them on headphones. :- )

Angelina wrote an incredibly emotional song called "Million Miles" in memory of her beloved grandfather who had just passed away (at that time). She was 13/14 years old. She recorded it later as her first single for her new label, Republic Records. Do a reaction to the black and white live studio version. It is one of three companion videos. The others are the actual official Republic video music release and a lyrics version. I highly recommend doing a reaction to the lyrics version second. It is the same recording as the official version but has graphics done by her grandmother, a noteworthy Iranian artist. With these videos, she has produced a quite stunning beginning of her career with Republic. Also, the pianist in the live studio video is a very high up Republic executive. Angelina commented that when she was in the studio doing the song she cried throughout the session. You can hear and see the pain she feels for her loss when you watch the live studio set. She said she wanted the song to be for anyone that had such a loss. With consideration to that background to her song, you will get as emotional as she was when she recorded it. She has this magical vocal power that draws you into this other dimension. She has always put her soul and emotions into her works. She arranges most all her music, as she has been doing since she began performing over the past ten plus years.

The first time I ever heard her was on AGT when she sang Bohemian Rhapsody. I was awe struck by the sound of her voice and every time I come across it on RU-vid, I have to listen to it. It never gets old.
