I have gotten a false copyright that I can't dispute soon, therefore there are 4 clips that are silent in this video, and if you wish to see the entire reaction, please take a look at the video on Patreon, it's public and free, as always :) www.patreon.com/posts/celine-vs-mariah-78136245
Celine's D5 from 9 minutes and 17 seconds comes from the song named ''Délivre-Moi'', in some of her performances she did even add explosive growl and intensity. I think her speciality amongst the three is her vocal effects (Rasp, distortion, growl, dynamics et cetera).
The video clips picked for mariah were literally her first 2 years in the industry, so she didnt have many sustained notes yet because she had just started. If the timeframe had been throughout their entire 20s, or their prime, there would have been more competition as mariahs sustained and resonant notes rlly started to kick in after 1993 which is a coincidence cuz this video only goes to 1992.
@@jeonjungkookie1209 mariah was in her 20s during the entire 90s. Or what u think ppl can be in their 20s for only 2 years? Cuz they only showed 2 years of her entire career💀.
@@angelxemotions9102 Mariah was 30 in the late 90’s sweetie and it says EARLY 20’s and Mariah in her early 20’s 1989-1992 had so many better clips. If we’re counting 1993 then HERO alone had so many SUSTAINED B4’s and MUSICBOX TOUR alone had countless of sustained MID BELTS. The creator is bias that’s it
@@jeonjungkookie1209 bitch it says “the voices in their 20s. Is 23-29 all of a sudden not considered in their 20s? Also mariah was not in her 30s in the late 90s idiota she was born in 1970, and even IF SHE WAS born in 1969 then that would make her 30 in 1999, so why dont they show clips of her from 1998 and earlier?? Read pendeja.
@@jeonjungkookie1209 maybe the original vid said early 20s but then they coulda still added mariah up to Music Box as she was 23 if im not mistaking during that era, at least according to her and when ppl ask for her age in interviews back then. But i mean yea the creator definitely chose dumb clips in fact in one of the notes showcased for her she literally sounded congested bcuz she was sick in the performance.🤦🏽♀️
@D D some people prefer her earlier sound . Her tessatura was naturally high asf and her agility had no limit. But some people prefer her darker voice which sounded even more powerful and soulful and her head voice was fuller. As a real fan, I can't choose because she was still able to deliver either way 🙌🏾
@@DiorD737 in the 90s her agility went down quite a bit and her stamina ran out much faster when holding out a note so 80s whitney was far superior but to each their own i suppose
This video was obviously made by a Celine stan. Whitney and MAINLY Mariah videos were not good in quality and even on the choice of the notes (choices for Mariah were a joke). Whitney had better notes from these same songs and Mariah had A LOT of sustained notes for the mid belts, but it turns to be really an obvious preference when the person simply picks ALL the best notes from Celine, even some recent fans of her probably not even know.
Mariah is not a fan of sustaining notes. She's singing with vocal acrobatics. That's why people are afraid to sing her songs because its very complicated. I remembered watching American Idol. Jlo together with her co Judges saidsinging Mariah song is really hard. Its very very hard that's why nobody tries to attempt her songs.
Take note sustaining notes is very easy but if you attempt Mariah's style. It's suicidal.. Singing Whitney's song is hard but if You're singing Mariah Carey song it's vocally suicidal-Simon
@vondellola1607 Simon is not a creditable vocalist. He is a judge on a singing show with a preference and opinion like everyone else. Sustaining notes Is just as difficult. If vocal acrobatics were the superior factor Vanessa Bell Armstrong and Kim Burrell would definitely come before a Mariah Carey
@@iss_iam809 Simon has a good ear. He knows better because he's been on that business for so long.. many singers can sing the singers' songs you were mentioned but admit it Mariah's song is in another level, few singers or only gifted singer can slay Mariah's song but not as close.
If that is true, I find that to be disrespectful towards the art of singing as well as artists. Idk if I believe she said that considering she belts too, just not in these clips much. When did she allegedly say it?
@@fashionblank dude it's boring. It's shows less artistry. Not thg creative. Holding a straight note isn't that creative. Bro and that's why I'll always say ur biased. Celine does that a lot.
@@fashionblank ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-szISa2oMvcw.html it's an opinion... she prefers the creativity of melismas and registers
Can i recommend you react to celine dion singing "thats just the woman in me" i think youd love her vocal runs and how she uses her raspy voice on purpose
I would love to, but being a Celine fan I already know that performance so it wouldn't be surprising to me :D but I love her rasp and how she uses it to fit the genre flawlessly
I don't know if it those making the videos are picking bad mariah whitney or celine clips.. some registries are hard to find. Many of celne's french songs for example are blocked in the US and you can find WAAY more examples of her vocal power in those.
Mariah didn’t belt and sustain much of anything under bb4 in her early 20’s. The creator wasn’t just picking a random pic, the creator picked the best G#4’s of that time frame.
There's a sustained G#4 with vibrato in that America The Beautiful performance. There's a sustained A4 with vibrato at the end of MTV Unplugged's "If It's Over" performance. There are many sustained Bb4s with vibrato during her 93 Music Box Tour. All of these are far better examples.
I prefer Mariah even in a bad clip. Best and most pleasant voice! I also prefer her musicality when belting, she hits the note and plays with it. Love her!
I knew this was rigged when he gave the F#5 to Whitney and not Mariah. But also, wasn't Mariah still in her 20's during Music Box era and Daydream? Those eras were her best era for belting and sustaining notes (apparently you have to sustain notes to become the better one).
A good singer can under sing or pull too much, sometimes they suit to certain songs but not a fair representive of their "best" singing, So its not fair to compare two or more singers on very different spectrums
Absolutely. And these are not made to determine who is a better singer, but just for fun. People love notes, they love belts, they love good singers, so they just compile a few clips into a pleasurable fun listening heh :)
Agreed and people forget that producers tell the singers what sound they want for the song and the singer gives them that sound regardless of how proficient they are in vocal technique. Music is art, not science.
Tell me how is this Guy comparing Mariah to Whitney and Celine. Go and get a job! Mariah has it all !!!! Why don't you choose Material where she is holding her voice. What a silly comparison
Cannot sustain? The ignorance lmao. She can sustain but not a fan of sustaining notes she’s done it countless of times which proves she can do it, it’s not just her thing.
@@jeonjungkookie1209 show me multiple legit clips of Mariah sustaining a note for longer than 5 seconds LIVE and I’ll believe it. Mariah has NEVER been as capable of sustaining as the other two. In fact the likes of modern singers like Katy Perry surpass her in that area. I find her “not liking it” to simply be an excuse for her not being able to consistently.
