Way to go Don for recommending Courtney to another shocked and new admirer,. So much to talked about when any new finds out about Courtney, but I'll try to keep it simple. Courtney got world wide recognition on AGT 2018 season. You have to watch the AGT audition she did that completely shocked millions over night. A must see. She has so many great video to react to, but she has just released her 1st and 2nd originals and we would like to support her with those as she is now an independent after getting freed from Sony/Arista records who did absolutely nothing for Courtney, but presumably tried to change her. She wanted no part of changing who she is and even wrote these new originals with lyrics to talk about what she endured for the past 4 or 5 years. Anyway, Sucker was a big pop hit by the Jonas brothers. Courtney took that song and funked it up into this blues funk rock hit.. This is what she does. Any song she covers she's almost always hears it differently and kills it her way. Another great ex. is "Old Town Road" by Little Nas X which I believe is still considered the longest #1 hit on billboards. Courtney made that one way better and rock the hell out of it. She's a stage phenom. NO ONE can compete with her with stage presence. Not since the legends of the past has an artist been this exciting to watch and listen to. She constantly keeps evolving. She was only 14 when she recorded this song along with 3 others that she released one by one in 2019 as her "Cover Sessions" mini album when she turned 15 that summer. Today at 18 she got freed from her labels traps and is now releasing her new originals, again one by one each month she said. Enjoy the future legend who brought back great music and style. Btw, Courtney is the culmination of all the legends she admires and learns from to form a new and different great artist. She's well past her years in talent and always has been. She needs our support to help get her name heard once again around the world. She deserves all good fortunes. God knows she's had some of the worst luck and timing and mishandling by her people of the past. Everyone loves her, but marketing is what labels do, and she will have to take more time to get at the major label recognition. Hell even many of the great artists of today are in awe of her.
hi Bert! thank you by the way for checking out my channel.. much appreciated… and wow its been a long time since i was able to listen to someone with her style and tone.. you can tell right away that Courtney had been listening to real real real great music… and i am exited to check all of her covera and performances on my journey to Her music.. again thank you and stay tuned…
She's the most amazing thing I've heard in many many many years a voice she can do anything she can hit any note she also plays guitar piano she dances she's the whole package
@MusicAndVocals You need first to see Courtney Hadwin's 2018 full audition--over 1/2 billion views by now--with coaches' reactions on America's Got Talent, then there are a lot of ways to go.
Hi. You just happened to come across the best thing to happen to music in decades, if not forever. There is no one like Courtney, but you've got a lot of catching up to do. You mentioned both AGT and old school. Courtney was on the 2018 season of AGT where she sang exclusively classic rock from the 60's and 70's from the likes of James Brown, Tina Turner and Janis Joplin. She blew the roof off of the arena. Her audition went viral and now has over 500M views and Courtney herself has over two billion views. Not only does she have one of the greatest voices we've ever heard but, you can't tell from the confined spaces of this performance, but she is a true stage beast. No one dominates a stage like Courtney. After AGT, so many viewed her as only this stage dominating, fabulous rocker, which she certainly is, but she is so much more. Her vocal versatility is unparalleled. She can sing everything from R&B to Funk, Soul and Ballads, as well as rock, and there is never a drop off in the incredible quality her music. She even had an opera clip go viral. So after AGT, she released an EP of four songs, where she took massive recent hits across different genres and re-invented them. This is one of those four. If you know the original of this song, it is a pop song that Courtney turned into this Funk classic. Another of the songs from this EP, 'Sign of the Times' is a beautiful ballad which will show you how incredibly beautiful Courtney's voice truly is. Courtney's release of original music has been delayed by a number of things. First she signed with Syco/Arista records (Sony Music), but then the label was sold. Then just as she was ready to drop her debut album, Covid hit, and all the lock downs and travel bans shut her down for more than two years. Courtney has such a unique style and voice that labels have been trying to twist her into something she doesn't want to be for a long time. Fortunately, she said 'No' and decided to go independent. We are all so lucky that she did, because her style of music is both so spectacular and also so rare in today's music world. Once she walked away from her label, she had her first original out in two months. It is the song 'Breakable' that you are going to react to. Hold onto your hat, because that original is a complete 360 from what you just heard. If it wasn't someone as talented as Courtney, you wouldn't believe it came from the same person as this song. She also has a second original that dropped a week ago called 'That Girl Don't Live Here' which is an uptempo sensation. Now that Courtney is in control of her own music, she said to expect a release around once a month. So buckle up your seat belt. You, and the rest of us, are in for one heck of a wild ride.
wow Edward! thank you for the detailed information and background of Courtney Hadwin.. i have a catching up to do... James brown in the flesh like lady... she is amazing and normally she will shock anyone at first sight. her lvl of musicality is insane at her age... again thank you so much .. much appreciated.. and if you have a song from her that you want me to react?
Usually takes about 1 song to be a fan of Courtney as you proceed on you'll see that Courtney can sing anyting from blues to jazz Rock she also has a very beautiful voice which she can fit into any song I think she was fifteen when she did these four covers she is a great performer onstage a writer a musician and now her own boss at 18 I don't think you could pick any of her song she's done that you would be disappointed thank you so much for doing courtney song can't wait to see you do another
hi Don! thank you for recommending me Courtney Hadwin and yeah i’m a fan.. and looking forward on making more reactions and to dive on her music…. much love and i appreciate it Don.. thank you again
She has a mean 'Sweet Child of Mine' shout video. Courtney's has credited James Brown for inspiring her performing style. She had said she strives to release music more along the lines of Amy Winehouse. She also does very well with Tina Turner performances. Expect the unexpected from Courtney.
Hi David... I'll definitely check that out..James Brown would be so proud of Courtney... She is an amazing artist that showcases the real roots of her music.. which is real music... I'm excited to react for more
You're glued to you seat because you likely are shocked by the first time viewing of Courtney's dynamic performance, a common reaction. Bert in the comments has well summarized some Courtney history for you, so I hope you continue down the wonderful Courtney path. Remember she was only 14 when she rocked that cover of Sucker. At 18 now she has 2 great originals out with more to follow.
hi RIck.. yes you can see the raw talent this girl has.. coz you can't train someone to be this good... on this type of music.. its like you have to be born with it... amazing
A typical reaction when hearing Courtney for the first time, you don't quite know what to say. Courtney is 14 years old on these four covers she did. She has a big strong voice far beyond her age. She always has. There is so much to say about Courtney about everything that happened during a period of about 5 years after AGT. Her first newly released song "Breakable" says a lot about that. The second she released "That Girl Don't Live Here" says we let go of the past and move on and look forward. Great songs both of them.
You haven't even scratch the surface on cortney as you will see as you do more reactions to her as you move forward with cortney try listening to the original first especially on the covers makes what she does with them blow your mind even more and listen to the emotions she puts into it you will not be disappointed that you got on the ride
Buckle up, Sunshine! Cause you are ABSOLUTELY NOT READY for Sept 29, 2023 when Courtney finally releases one of her originals we've heard a snippet of via YT 'Shorts' tab on her channel: Monsters! This'll be her 4th original single released since February 2023.
Courtney Hawdin es única, tiene una voz privilegiada. Ojalá y puedas escuchar los demás covers que ha interpretado y por supuesto, su nueva canciòn🤟💯🎸🎤Saludos desde México🤟🤟🤟
Courtney is an amazing package of talent and energy, she can go very far with her skill set. Also now as she's independent again I hope she'll follow the road of real music and raw emotion, not having to adjust to the kind of meaningless puffy foam the industry wants to spoon feed to the people... Looking forward to your next reactions to her! Speaking of "spoon feeding" I have to think of Paolo Nutini, a Scottish guy with Italian roots who has a real great voice and similar vibe and writes really great songs... You would be blown away by his live performance of his song "Iron Sky" at Abbey Road studios, I'll leave a link, maybe you find a place and time to add him to your channel, he's great, raw, emotional... the real deal...(he has a line in that song that goes "mass confusion spoon fed to the blind..." that had me think of him as soon as I used that term, especially in the context of Courtney, the two of them would make for a great duo...) Interesting to hear you compare Courtney and Angelina. Angelina is more of a jazz-oriented singer, but she has a wide range that she can do and impress you with her control over the whole presentation. Courtney is more a force-of-nature rock singer -- she also has a lot of power and range that (as you found out) can leave you speechless. I would suggest going back to Courtney's AGT audition (at age 13) and then her audition on UK Kids Voice (at age 12). From there, you might try comparing Courtney's and Angelina's versions of Lewis Capaldi's "Someone You Loved". Then, look into Courtney's latest originals ("Breakable" and "That Girl Don't Live Here"). There are many videos from age 10 to 17 to look into. I'll leave it to others to fill in the back story.
Hi David . Thank you for the time.. my comparison for Angelina and Courtney is about the core of the music they both grew with.. and those are real music.. unlike the new generations now that loves what they call music which has no core values and just having the beat to make it sound better then they will call it music.. for me what Angelina and Courtney is doing is showing new generation that real music is still alive and will continue.... They have different style but same value of loving the core value of musicality.... And i am excited to react for more of Courtney Hadwin.... Tc brother and again thank you
As a fellow/past? lurker in the 'Tube, let me suggest you listen to Courtney's softer soulful ballads too, she sings many styles of songs, fusing genres with gleeful abandon. As does Angelina. Both AJ and Daneliya Tuleshova got some SERIOUS vocal training as children that I don't believe Courtney had the privilege to enjoy. Courtney learned so much of what she knows both from choir instruction (iirc), later true vocal coaching AFTER she started AGT, and most especially from RU-vid, studying the oldies, the old school ROOTS of Rock, blues, funk, soul, folk, and more. Her list of early influences matches WELL with from whom artists like Mick Jagger and the Beatles learned their styles and stagecraft, including James Brown. Courtz absolutely IS a ROCKSTAR, but she also rocks even when she's not rocking-out. Seriously capable, mostly self-trained iirc, vocalist with SKILLS and TALENT and a lovely VOICE that can rip your heart right out of your chest as you stand there, mesmerized, or energize you to GET UP AND MOVE when she lets that old soul loose to rock the world. Regardless, those 3 teens are, IMHO, GenZ's newest Queens of Music....though I guess Billie Eilish was there first for this generation...I'm sure they can all share the limelight. They're going to have to, for a long time, given the talents and skills each brings to the stage and to the recording studio (whatever form that studio takes, from bedroom to infamous old-school pro studio). 🎶🎸🎹🎤💐🌟
You have been Angelina-ized now you have been also Courtney-ized,. They both are something the music world has not experienced before. You must do Courtney's AGT first audition of 'Hard To Handle' ( ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lPWNBUtMNsQ.html ) , but be forewarned she will stun to to a speechless state of being , as Angelina does, and you are left with only able to utter Wow Wow Wow!! Thanks for getting around to Courtney Hadwin, she is another wild ride !!
Hi! If you are curious about the ballad side of Courtney Hadwin, her "At Last" cover maybe a good start. I believe you are familiar with this song from Etta James. 🙂 "🌟 COURTNEY HADWIN 🌟 AT LAST - ETTA JAMES | Open Mic UK 2016" ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3yAjBJoo6Dg.html
