Eren’s seen so much. Between Kruger’s memories of his family being burned to death in front of him, having to execute hundreds of Eldians, and being eaten alive, Grisha’s memories of Faye’s death, his fingers being sliced off, his comrades and wife being turned into Titans, being forced to murder the Reiss family, and being eaten by his own son, Uri and Frieda’s memories of having to eat one another, and being enslaved by the First King to keep humanity in bondage, Laura’s memories of literally being crushed to death, Ymir’s memories of being enslaved and abused for her entire life, and bearing children for King Fritz, and his own memories of his mother’s death, all of his friend’s deaths, being eaten alive, being betrayed by so many people, seeing all the innocents slaughtered because of the Rumbling, and knowing that it was all decided from the start. That’s rough buddy.
@@dubbyplays what other choice did he have? Either he would destroy one of the camps entirely in order to end this endless cycle of revenge, or he would let his people, his friends, his family, be reduced to subhumans dying for the pleasure of rogue guards -and let's not forget that he still has the memories of his father- or he would let this endless cycle of hatred and despair continue on and on. He chose to let his friends live a full and happy life, he gave humanity one last chance by accepting the fate of dying - logically, according to the power of the assailant he must have known he was going to die before he could accomplish the great earthwork, yet he did not seek to create a future where his victory is total - and chose to suppress the titans in order to put an end to the cycles engendered by the latter I doubt he could do any better.
The saddest part is that, no matter what he did or would’ve decided to do. The cycle of hate and violence will always continue, one way or another. I will never agree with what he did but poor soul, and only 19-20 years old :/ managing my own life at that time was already hard, I cant even imagine how that would’ve been.
@@kassyyar97 That's the cold truth about the series. Every attempt everyone will do just won't do. It's the case for our world as well. No matter how hard we try, violence will always appear then and there.
@@JudahDavis He is and isnt at the same time. Bertholdt kicked the walls down however it was Reiners idea but it was only because they had no other choice and Annie was knocked out from the argument they had prior, which was all because they lost marcel the jaw titan who sacrificed himself to save Reiner.. The point is it wasn't solely Reiners fault, theres a great chain of events that lead to that moment and in the end he was just trying to do the best for his family his friend and himself so saying Reiner was responsible is true but it wasn't all his fault.
@@JudahDavis Idk I can't really blame Reiner the dude was a brainwashed 12 years old kid thinking that what he was doing was heroic. I am pretty sure that you, me or anyone in his situation would've done the same. Reiner is like Eren since both killed a lot of people because the world and their environement pushed them to do it not because they are bad people. The first Eldian king is just an evil guy, he has literally no valid reason for doing what he was doing. Plus all the mess that happened in aot is indirectly because of him.
They should play this when Eren transforms into the founding titan. Since they played this when he first transformed, it would makes sense for them to play it for his final transformation
Eren was quite literally carrying the whole weight of the world on his back. Whatever decision he made would change the fate of the world; either Eldia's extinction, the extinction of all life, or something in between.
Imagine having to cope with all the memories of the Founder, Attack and lately Warhammer titans' memories, and seeing also an unavoidable future brought to you by the Attack Titan. He knew he needed to end all, but ended up not knowing the reason. He had to say goodbye to the woman he loved but never couldn't confess his feelings for, Mikasa. Had to say goodbye to Armin, whom he promised to travel around the world (he did, but in Paths). He suffered enough.
It’s sad that our favorite characters had to suffer and take responsibility for the benefit of the future generations. But it’s way more realistic when the same expectations are given to other shounen and seinen protagonists and they can just get through everything pretty clean because there has to be more seasons…plus the power of friendship…or the best friend is sacrificed to drive the plot. Here we have betrayal and genocide. It’s indeed the extreme but it’s very dramatic and entertaining :D
Noooo broo even tho he is the protagonist of this HE IS THE ONLY PERSON WHO GOT THE HARDEST AND SADDEST LIFE STORY EVER BRO I ...😣😣😭😭😭TFFF!!!!!! I CANT STOP CRYINGGGGG;;;
Omg same.. just had a talk about this w my friend… i want to rewatch all the seasons w/o the knowledge of all the Episodes… it would be so fking mindblowing… It just hits different..
You can. You can do it right now right here. Just don't be surprised if you don't like what's in the other side as much as your thinking you will. I've seen a war hardened veteran who killed VC with his bare hands and survived death multiple times and laughed at it until he took a heart attack one day and passed on for almost a minute. He came back sobbing and terrified of what he saw and diet and exercises to this day to avoid death at all costs. Quit drinking and smoking completely after making fun of people like that for 60 years. We are not free from ourselves yet we are free to end ourselves but know what awaits you has no less thirst for control than this world. Death is not release it is rebirth and birth is is nothing more than confirmation of death. Existence is an infinite loop.
Due to it's epic ost, story and worldbuilding, aot often doesn't feel like an anime, it is something made for even bigger recognition. I wanna see it beating Avengers:endgame which is possible if the movies are made keeping in mind the potential of this story.
It won’t be a movie, plus quality does not equal attention, even if the final part of AoT was made into a movie, due to the abnormally large audience and cultural phenomenon marvel is, it most likely would not beat it
"A hero will sacrifice you for the world. A villain will sacrifice the world for you." "To the boy who sought freedom, goodbye." -Two quotes to perfectly sum up the masterpiece that is shingeki no kyojin
It makes me angry bc they spit on freedom just to do a crime which will destroye there Own life. They only learn in Prison how much value FREEDOM really has... sadly...
@@darokh3807 I am forced to believe that you are either a young child or English is not your first language. However, you are correct. They spit on the freedom given to them to try to fulfill some desire or need they have.
In AOT, at first, we thought we would see Eren, *The Main Hero* in a journey to give True Freedom to everyone inside the wall But at the time we keep watch the Show, Ss1,2,3 then 4, all we see is just a past of a *Main Villian* He will do everything to give Freedom to his people. Even if they call him a Monster. Eren become a Villian makes me remember a quote of the Buddhist Monks: *If I'm Not Going To Hell, Then Who Will?* This quote replicates exactly what Eren Think. And I LOVE IT!
@@alfredpierre7154 he choosed necrokasa, this idiot haven't achieve a thing, he killed only 80% of population and the paradise destruction was only conclution of this simp s action.
5:58 That moment is freedom... That moment describes the feeling that you have when you're finished with the whole story... ur last sense of living right now is the end of Aot being animated... that's how I feel for the last years, months, weeks an days...
That is obvious, SNK stood out in an unimaginable way in the world of manga and anime, the plot, characters, fictional world, everything was very well done, it is a fact that it left a mark on history
5:57 Hear me all subjects of Ymir I am Eren Yeager I now speak to all the subjects of Ymir by way of the founding titans power all the walls on the island of paradis have been unhardened and the titans buried within them have begun to walk and my goal is to protect the people of paradis who bore and raise me over countless years their hatred has grown more and more beyond this island and they won’t stop until they kill everyone of our people but I reject their desire the titans of the walls will trample and crumble all the lands beyond this island until the lives there are eliminated from this world
If you haven't seen Vinland Saga, I'd say that could be a start. It's made by the same studio of the first 3 seasons of AoT, so you'll get that crisp animation. Very good characters so far, with a beefy first season
@@lamie0237 seen, even read the manga and the manga is in the same tier as Aot in my opinion but it's too soon for the anime, I think it would would be comparable to apt by the time of the third season.
3:20 All still cursed with life, hear my words and pray There was no devil behind the walls 'til the day you made him See what has been done in the name of the cycle of revenge Feel the wrath of the innocent children, trampled by greed Hear loss, taste dust, see fire, feel naught there is no hope, in your old ways, betrayed Betrayed by your refusal to let go There was a devil in every wall of all man's hearts 5:58 There is nothing left but to break the wheel The age of death you refused to bring to heel The day has at long last come We will be free from what you've done
OI MAN. DId you Write this? If you did then GOD BLESS you. It's one of the most BEAUTIFUL thing i have seen . But if you didn't can you share the Source? BTW what was you Inspiration while Writing this?
Everytime I see a dog in a leash i get angry at the dog for not being free like I am and everytime the cashier asks me "want some french fries with that?" I yell at the cashier for not calling them "Freedom fries"
Whenever I see someone in a locked bathroom, I get an indescribable feeling of rage. Why isn’t this pooper free? Why is this defecator being denied the opportunity of freedom, the free choice and will to move on. To move on past the bathroom door, to and from the bathroom at will. Why? Why?
@@luckyraygun1607 mappa probably didn't have the rights to use them, at least we got some new songs that are fire and sawano also did 3 soundtracks that are like compilations of previous soundtracks
@@luckyraygun1607 I can think of many moments when scores from past seasons played, and there will likely be more for Part 2 as I believe that Sawano will have more part in it. I’m not entirely sure though.
The way this song embodies the pain of Eren perfectly... he has seen so much, he knows what will happen yet he can't do anything but follow, he's carrying the weight of memories of 2000 years, all the people he had to kill, even his own family, all to finally reclaim freedom.
The music always gives me mad goose bumps its so good. Whenever I read a quote said by a character in the comment sections it just amplifies the effect 10x.
Me when first introduced to Attack on Titan: Man, people are calling this like Game of Thrones with character deaths!? Nobody important dies! I mean it's like people never heard of Redshirts before! Nobody important dies; these characters have some serious plot-armor! Have a few important named characters die, or at-least have some lasting impacts to them like Berserk, and maybe we'll get there. But so far this is just a slightly bloodier shoenen...still, I'll stick with it, the setting's interesting and so is the mystery; Hopefully it delivers. Me after the second half of the series starts: No! Please! No more! Stop killing the characters I like! Give them back their plot armor! I take back what I said! I TAKE IT BACK!
Eren could act through past Attack Titan's users. He didn't just tell Grisha to kill the Reiss family. He acted through every user of the Titan. The Attack Titan always pursued freedom because Eren pursued freedom, not because it was a coincidence. Eren forced every Attack Titan of the past to do as he wanted, and they didn't even notice. They thought it was their choice. History was decided by Eren. Everything that happened since the birth of the Attack Titan could have been part of Eren's plan. It had to be that way so everything could end as he wanted.
Does anything that happens during the events of AOT sound like something Erin wanted? His mother's death. The Countless Corpses of his comrades. The Suffering his Father endured. Sasha's death. You think he wanted any part of this? If Erin had the ability to influence events THAT far back, then the you can bet Marley would never have gotten as big as it did. He would have killed the Tybur Family and taken the Warhammer Titan MUCH MUCH EARLIER. The Tyburs are the closest thing to a Direct Antagonist in AoT. The Tyburs controlled Marley for nearly a century. They had plenty of time, resources and opportunities to shift Marley from a War-Mongering nation to one that would bring peace in this World. And what did they do with it? They were no different than the Reiss Family Titan conquerors they hated so much. Willie Tybur and that Warhammer bitch got what was coming to them
@@ajayrathee7081 Well, let's assume that he controlled their mindset slightly. He didn't dare to change much of history because that might have affected him even being born. So, he only did which he knew won't change much of things. That's why it is more of a bootstrap paradox. For example, he controlled Grisha but only when he needed to kill the royal families on that specific date. He could have done it earlier. He only used Kruger to make Grisha realise his role. Only small steps, which are necessary and results to present. If all of the things in the world would have solved before Eren's birth or Grisha's exile, Eren wouldn't have been borned in the first place, and that's sacrificing freedom.
@ScarheadPotterisOP I mean, remember when Kruger told Grisha to protect Armin and Mikasa, and then getting confused and saying "...That's not one of my memories."?
If you really look more deeply into things Attack on titan is truly the best anime to have ever folled out an created such an intense in-depth story, characters and theme. There are so many beautiful things in the anime, so many metaphors and hype created for people never imagining screaming sasageyo and tadakai.
Just enjoying the feeling of dwelling in Eren’s footsteps with the future of the world already revealed to you and you being able to change that future and not knowing if what you’re doing is right or wrong. The sad part is that we keep moving forward to the future, we fight. The ending might’ve been a crappy but it was the journey for me that kept me with Attack on Titan.
What if in that kiss of Historia's hand was actually a time leap of future Eren, maybe Eren was like Subaru and Okabe where he time leap again and again but he failed to save Mikasa and Armin but in order to save them he realized that his life was needed to be sacrificed in order to change their fate
Anyone who was or is in the military as a combative MOS can probably resonate very well to AOT the aspect of war and death is depressing yet beautiful and very real i love this fuckin series
“Every day I’m here, I think Why did it ever come to this? Damaged minds and bodies… Their freedom taken away… Even losing themselves. If people knew it would come to this, nobody would go to war. But most people are pushed by something, forced to march into hell. That "something" wasn’t their choice. Their situation or others made them do it. But people who push their own backs see a different kind of hell. They can see something beyond the hell. It might be hope. It may even be another hell. Only those who keep moving forward will ever know” - Eren jaeger
To the Fans who arent German: You rly should google the english lyrics of this & the other german songs Its mindblowing for me how well they fit to the story line, …
This story is in a whole new dimension of plot and character. A timeless masterpiece, I truly feel bad for those who haven't or won't experience this in their lifetime.
