I was i Voi - Taita Taveta district - as a danish deveolpment volunteer 1980 -82. I started at workshop for general maintanence - Rural Health Maintanence Unit, based on Voi Hospital, but doing work in the whole district. I am wandering, if there still - after all these years - still are something left of taht. It looks as if Voi has grown a LOT since through the years. We had a good time in Voi, and our first son was born in Kenya - all good memories. My electrical trainee was named Kennedy - do not remember his surname.
Indeed those seem to be great memories, that's such a long time ago. For sure Voi has grown steadily. Thank you for watching and sharing your memories 🙏
Im happy you are getting to show less popular towns in Kenya ...not something Kenyan youtubers do alot ...hopefully your numbers grow and you get to collaborate with others great job bro
Nice vlog bro,voi is gradually developing..it used to be bushy back then, though its not the county hdqs of taita taveta county. The town was named after a famous kamba chief called chief kivoi. Voi now is widely dominated by the native taitas, some tavetas, wakamba coz of its proximity to the neighbouring makueni county and kitui counties... So its developing though at a slow pace but atleast u can find other tribes in kenya also investing in voi nowadays. Mijikendas call home while taitas call it kuna a slight difference though they are all bantu speaking communities.
Thanks so much for that clarity bro, it seems you are very knowledgeable, I didn't know much about Voi like being named after Chief Kivoi. For sure nowadays Voi is somehow growing, it's not the voi I saw ten years ago
Voi women destroyed this town by bringing the uneducated Samboja as governor...imagine mtu anatoa soko town anaipeleka sijui wapi?Watu hawana tittle deeds pia,who will buy land there?
