These ladies are some of the most respected vocalists in all of South Korea. After retiring from performing and starting families of their own, they are now vocal teachers in different universities and have even taught some of the artists within various kpop groups as well. Talk about passing on the torch these ladies are legends

Fun Fact: Shin Yona on the far left is the leader and the one who did most of the vocal and harmony arrangements for their music. She knows how to make each member shine. Before Bigmama, she was a backup singer adding harmonies to most of the KPOP songs. In fact, this group was first formed around her and added 3 other members with a mission to create the best vocalists group in Korea. Thank you for the great reaction video! It has been fun watching so many reaction videos of them where the reactor had no idea who these ladies were and struggled to come up with nicknames for these ladies as they just won them over with their four distinctive talented voices, soulful singing and topflight harmonies. And you were on point to talk about how it is possible to be a vocal badass at an age where many singers are hanging it up. Great reaction.

Each of them are incredible. Thank you so much for asking me to react to them. 100% singer inspiration!! n.b. please note that after the C6... i followed the melody of the saxophone down (like a dingus cause I got too excited). It still sounds like the vocal line is up on the C6 although, all of their harmonies are so twangy that it's blending with the saxophone pretty solidly.

I'm a classically trained vocalist, multi-instrumental musician, and semi-professional Blues performer, who _also_ happened to pay for college with Theater scholarships. With a bit of Throat Singing and Whistle to supplement my natural range and falsetto, I can sing from C2 to C6 on any average day. I don't say all this to brag; I say it to explain the degree to which I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to music, particularly vocals. Having said that, you'll understand what it means when I say that this group made me cry...several times! DAMN!!! Moreover, from a Music Theory standpoint, it's especially refreshing to hear a degree of melodic and chordal complexity that most of today's current Pop (and KPOP) songs don't don't have. Not only are the vocals amazing; the music itself is interesting, too. I'm 46 years old, and I officially have my first KPOP fanboy crush(es).

How much fun can four girls have together. These ladies are a joy to watch. Individually brilliant, together I have no adjectives adequate. I love that we have privilege of hearing these ladies with so much experience together. They are so tight. Talent doesn't have a use by. Hard not to fall in love with them. Romance in every note. Think I need a cup of tea and a lie down. Thanks Julie brilliant as always.

Wow, that is sooo tight...and the harmonies are extremely precise, have almost machine like precision, like a horn section. I have never heard a vocal group like this. Julia sets an engaging, high standard for reaction videos. So many reaction videos have very little meat on the bones...not the case here.

Lee Jung Hyun, the lady with the white pants with letters on it, she went through throat issues and had to get it surgically treated. She couldn't sing normally for years. She had to train herself back up to where she is today. That is why her solo song sounds a bit different then when it was first released it. She can't go up high as she use to originally. I recommend you take a look at the live version of her Solo song from 10 years go to see what a powerhouse she use to be and still is.

The two women on the ends have the highest vocal range , the one on the left is the original leader but I believe the youngest of the group in the end on right was doing the part your referring to both sing effortlessly! The one on the right is similar to SoHyang as her mixed voice is well developed! That are all excellent

Big MaMa...bruh i remember listening to them back in highschool with my friends and we'd try our hardest to sound like Lee Young Hyun at karaoke whilst belting 'Resignation'. I loved watching the original killing voice video cos i got to relive those old mems but this video with your geeking-out and tech-y tidbits was so much fun to watch! I got zero clue about vocal techniques but I thought it was awesome that you went in on really breaking down each of the parts - made me appreciate these songs and this group even more! These ladies have been sharing their shimmering voices with us for several years. I must recommend a much older one that will touch you as it did me called His Eye Is On the Sparrow. They sing different genres. I found them quite by accident. There are 2 different videos to choose from. One was in 2014 and the newer one was 9 years ago in 2012. Both are good quality live performances but I would recommend the one from 9 years ago. I hope you will give a reaction. I think you will continue to be impressed. Always love your reactions!!!

All growls you were wondering who did it were made by Lee young-hyeon, third from left. She sings of most high-note with Park MIn-hye, far right. And I won't even have to mention how deep and rich voice Lee ji-young can make, second from left. They complement each other so perfectly.

Wow’ these women are killing it in the vocal department. All individually are talented but together they come together as a real tour de force! Ugh, I have gotta find more of their music! They got a nice ballad, pop and sultry soul mix. Moneymakers! The last song really is catchy and a reminder why I love Korean ballads! Those lyrics say it all. Music transcends language. We all feel it if emotions are in play. Already a favorite reaction video because she cries.

They are an amazing set of vocalists that with one song heard maybe all of two times nearly 20 years ago took up residence in my long term memory right next to the image of Lee Hyori when she was with Fin.K.L. The video for Break Away came up in my suggestions on RU-vid when I was binging J pop thanks to Final Fantasy X-2 having Jade Valerie of Sweetbox do the English OSTs and Puffy AmiYumi doing the Teen Titans theme song back in 2003. I'm what I call an fixation listener. I will focus on a group or genre for months ignoring everything else so I skipped over K pop at the time completely forgetting their name but when I heard them sing this a recently I remembered hearing the song. Before I knew what K pop was (thank you Wonder Girls and Bi Rain) I was impressed by their vocals and harmonies. Thankfully now RU-vid and streaming services have their music for me to add to my playlists.

Ohohoh, I waited for this! Thank you, thank you!!♥ While BigMama made a break, Lee Young Hyun (second from the right) is still one of the top vocal divas of korea. Her solo song is very well known and one of the most popular karaoke songs in korea! Shin Yeona is like the Wheein of Mamamoo for me. The backbone of BigMama. Their newest song has a full live stage as well if you're interested :) Since you start to get to know the korean top singers like BigMama, Sohyang, please check out Son Seung Yeon and Park Kiyoung too at some point! Son Seung Yeon is still pretty young but already one of the best with her rich voice and high notes. Please check Lost Love (it's very emotional) or Is anyone there (maybe her best but since her tone is a bit different there from usual maybe not the best one first). And Park Kiyoung is know for her high mix register (up to F6!). She's a close friend to Sohyang and a chameleon. Give her any genre, she can do it. From rock (where she originally belongs to), over Jazz to Opera. Her agility is everything and she can hold notes for ages! It's difficult to recommend a performance but Spring Rain (more rock) and Yeonan Pier (Jazzy not showing that much until the end, still iconic) are her iconic ones

I love music so much. Like soul deep. God gifted us music and dance and I'm so grateful. Music has saved my life and Big Mama just moves my soul!
