For this prodigy, her dynamics are effortless. The next 10, 20, 40+ years will be amazing.

Just the way she sings and pronounces that "poor boy" gives me chills. With such empathy and tenderness. She makes me care about this boy I don't even know. She recognizes the words, the highlights of a song that matter and knows how to convey them. Possibly the best at telling a story in song these days.

I just loved the fact that she was not fazed by missing a couple of chords and kept on going. And the improvisation at the and was just magical to my hears. Her future is brighter than the sun itself.

Angelina is always improving even when she already seems world-class and this has really accelerated over the last couple of years. She has developed a skill recently that she didn't have when she was 13 and I'm not even sure I have the words to explain it. She subtlely changes the texture of her voice as she sings a phrase or even within a single note that adds a dimension that only an extremely few professional singers have. You do not see this in classically trained singers, it doesn't appear to be something that is taught or can be taught. Like I said I don't even have the words to even explain what I'm hearing in her voice, it is incredible regardless.

I grew up in the 60's and this song was on many peoples top 10 back in the day. I've always loved it. Maybe not my top 10 but certainly a fav. It was certainly popular through the 70's & 80's. The 60's was the birth of Rock & Roll and has been lost to today's generations. ♥👣👸🏻

This is the latest treat that Angelina gives us, as she plays her Fender at 5am at her house, her fantastic short, scratched and deep version of this famous song (the Animals in comparison look like guys playing), recorded and sung in the purest Angelina Style (one of many 😅). Her talents are absolutely CHILLING!! I'm not aware of anyone else out there where you could actually say,.... she stops using words,.. and the song GETS BETTER!!! There is something primeval about her.

Indeed Angelina has such a rich vocal toolbox and uses it with great versatility to bring across the story and emotions. As she grows older her mastery just keeps improving with leaps and bounds. I love these kind of recordings: not smooth, in a casual setting but she gives it her full effort and you hear so many lovely details. It’s also a vulnerable setting: every error is noticeable and it speaks for her that she releases such recordings. Perfection is not the objective of art :-)

Thanks Valerie for this excellent description of what Angelina is doing in this & other songs. I'm so glad you talked about dynamics, because she is a master of that & it is one of her best skills. Well, except for her vibrato, rasp, vocal fry & every other skill that enables her genius musicality . They are ALL off the charts, but knowing when NOT to use her massive toolbox of vocal techniques is where she stands out. She knows! I hope you & your loved ones are doing well.

Wonderful reaction and observations as usual. I agree it is great to see her playing guitar and having fun. I still have a few guitars but even though I played rhythm 6 and 12 string and was lead singer in our little high school dance band I was never confident playing. We performed this song many times back in 1968/69. Our senior class song was also by the Animals, We Gotta Get Out Of This Place. Angelina is much improved with her piano playing as well. That is my favorite instrument. Thanks again for your deep appreciation of our sweet young lady.

I often learn new things from your videos, and I can always tell by your analysis that you understand Angelina is something special. In reference to something you said about technique. I think one of the things that really sets Angelina apart is that she has such a mastery over so many vocal techniques, that we don't even really notice when she is using them. She uses them in such an organic way that, to the listener, it just comes across as part of the story she is telling. Her vocal choices are so spot on, that they don't seem like they are 'choices' at all, they seem like it's just the way it was supposed to be all along.

I almost didn’t recognise Angelina with her blue contact lenses, but that incredible voice is unmistakable! Have followed Angelina since I saw her sing on RU-vid at a festival when she was around six years old. An amazingly talented young woman and definitely an old soul 💖

Simply put, the world's greatest story teller.

This is more impressive than her Queen performance and so much truer to real core talent... a classic blues song given her instinctive feel for Jazz.. The false colours app on her face looses a bit of style ... but all she has to sing and they will come running.😉💙😎 I want to hear a local girl to Eric Burdon do a version of this Courtney Hadwin who has also grown up a lot in the past year or two and has both her own style and looks.

Hello Valerie! I have been watching each and every one of your reactions to Angelina and they have all been really great. I have commented sometimes but not all the time. This time however I had to comment. Because this reaction was particularly good in my opinion. It is always a pleasure to hear a voice coach talk about singing techniques. Techniques that Angelina surely must have practiced a lot but that seems to come SO very natural for her. The fact that she has mastered this for so long speaks volumes to her musical intelligence and understanding. I am at work and on my cell phone right now so I don't have the possibility to check which songs you have reacted to by Angelina, but I can't recall that you have listened to her version of Diana Ross and Lionel Richie's "Endless Love". If you haven't, I strongly recommend that you take a look. Keep it up =) I don't if I said it to you, but to me Angie sings like an instrumentalist, combinded with narrative music. Another reason she’s so especially rare & great.
