Adam is the best male vocalist alive today. It is a shame that people don’t recognize that in the US. He is also a very talented songwriter, he enjoys collaborating with other songwriters. He is great at twisting song and melodies around to suit him and make them fresh and new. I first heard him sing this arrangement 10 years ago during his auditioning process for American Idol. He was in Italy for a private performance a couple years ago and even sang an aria from an opera in Italian that he learned as a teenager when he was still taking voice lessons.

Karen Castelli exactly like Freddie Mercury
@toramenor
@toramenor 4 года назад
@@escape0007 Sorry, but Mercury did not have a classically trained voice. Adam Lambert doesn't sound like Freddie. Lambert has much greater control over his voice and a much better technique of singing. That is not to detract from Mercury's accomplishments. Mercury was a great singer. Lambert is an extraordinary, astonishing, superb singer.

toramenor I agree, I meant like Freddie in the sense that he was not recognized in US
@toramenor
@toramenor 4 года назад
@@escape0007 oh, yeah, that's a different story. You're right. I feel like all the critics are now praising Freddie into the stars, but while he was alive, Queen always had to struggle against bad reviews and critics spouting their nonsense, unbelievable! Also, artists like David Bowie, etc. who should have been honoured at the Grammys but never were, I just have no words when I see some pretty mediocre artists get all the awards... In Adam's case, I think that critics mostly praise him, and he always gets good reviews for albums or performances, it's just that the general mainstream audience is kind of sleeping on how incredible he is. But hopefully that is changing, and hopefully it won't take until after he dies for people to start appreciating his talent for what it is

He tailors his whole demeanor from venue to venue and it's just such a pleasure to watch. Have a look at his acoustic performance from, I think it's Foxwood? Recently. For instance his acoustic version of If I had You where he sings" because I have all of you" and it's just a very sweet moment. You’re so right! And I love how damned theatrical he is. His face when he pulled that earpiece out. That little look he gives the crowd for a second, like, ya’ll ready for this? The fact that he did it on “there’s no turning back,” because he knew by that point the whole room was under his spell. That he was taking them on a journey. He’s aware of exactly how amazing he is. And, somehow, he also manages to never miss! There’s a fine line between confidence and over-confidence, but I’ve never seen him cross it. Never seen him falter. It’s kinda miraculous. He doesn’t just sing. He sells the song, AND manages to make you forget that’s what he’s doing. So you’re just lost in the moment. Knowing he knows what he’s doing, and just grateful he’s doing it. I’ve never seen someone so professional, so seasoned and perfect, and yet so able to connect as well. And he’s also absolutely fearless. He gets the emotion, and still manages to be flawless somehow. You know Cher tweeted that night that she couldn’t quite find the words to express how moved she was by his performance, and then 3 weeks later, she tweeted while on a flight saying that she’s still in awe of him and what he did with the song was beyond comprehension. What a compliment from an icon and legend. Think about how many dance remixes of this she’s heard. Better yet think about how many times she’s performed this song and the use of auto tune in her version just as a stylistic effect, because it was new at the time. He flipped the script on the emotions of the song in a heart-felt ballad of realizing one’s self worth. Beyond performing, he takes you on a journey and has such control that when he unleashes and lets you have it - you’re shook and gobsmacked. Hearing you discuss the technical aspects of singing makes me realize how much is involved when a person with a well-developed voice and musical instinct is singing. I haven't previously heard the details about singing vowels that you've pointed out in this review and your review of Adam singing "Who Wants To Live Forever." Thank you. I'm interested in hearing your review of a few songs from Adam's new EP, Velvet Side A. He posted live sessions performances on his youtube channel ... Superpower, Closer to You, Overglow, etc. His live session of Feel Something connects on a deeply emotional level, as does Closer to You.

I remember watching american idol the year he was on, and just instantly fell in love, never have i heard someone with as much control to his voice, perfect in every second. It amazed me back then, and it still amazes me. What amazes me even more though, is how he is not bigger than he is. But that might be a choice of his own aswell, and the curse of doing eveything so god damn good is that I suppose you might have an issue finding your OWN category to fit in to. He's dong alot of like broadway and shows like that, which isnt really.... radiomusic. Some people see him as a glammy diva while others as a rock babe. And he's such a cameleont he can just do it all. As singer of Queen though, he shines as himself, sadly not with his own music. But like I said, i dont even know if he knows what he what road he'd like to go down in order to make a "proper" career. *rambling*

Buy and have a listen to his new EP #VELVETSideA. This is Adam's newest release, co-written by him. Adam has said that this is the music he has always wanted to put out. It's his groove. Then go on RU-vid and look up his recent shows from Foxwoods and the Bowery, New York. Start there and enjoy! Adam is simply the best 💚
