I know my info text is very long. I couldn't make it shorter. I know you might skip reading..it's just me who wanna shout out my favorite artists. This is Forestella, a crossover group from Korea. They are the winner group in the Phantom Singer 2; a survival audition show to form a crossover quartet like il Divo from Korea. However as they have their own unique style, they won't be Korean il Divo, they will be the Forestella of the world! Forestella has sung great covers like Bohemian Rhapsody, We are the Champions, Heal the World, the Sound of Silence, My Favorite Things, Champions (mash-up of Champs league theme and Champions by Jo SuMi), Nella Fantasia, Scarborough Fair..etc etc. At the Phantom Singer All Stars they sang Time in a bottle, Je suis Malade as well. Shape of You in English, Spanish and African Zulu is fantastic indeed. You can even see them dancing singing Smooth Criminal as well! And they broke the record of their own with Lazenca Save Us winning 4 trophies for King of Kings in a row in Immortal Songs 2! Forestella is a quartet of Ko WooRim (classical bass, intense abyss-deep low tone), Kang HyungHo (ex-research chemist & rock vocalist with soprano falsetto voice), Cho MinGyu (classical leggiero tenor, light boyish crystal clear tone) and Bae DooHoon (musical actor, one of the semi-finalists from Voice Korea 2, rough-textured husky tone with R&B, Pop groove). Each has distinct tone and style of singing, different charm. But all of them are famous as practice-freaks. Ko WooRim said they met more than 300 days together in Phantom Singer All Stars behind interview but in a radio program the leader (Cho MinGyu) revealed it would be around 20 days they didn't meet in 2020. So I think this explains how their perfection executed.

This was not for competition at all. The Open Concert is KBS show presenting various artists from any genre. This song is one of their 2nd album named Mystique. But Immortal Songs 2 is a kind of remake competition show. Forestella began to be known to the world with Bohemian Rhapsody from special episode for Queen in Immortal Songs 2. After that they sang Bohemian Rhapsody at Open Concert quite times. Unfortunately all the Bohemian Rhapsody videos from KBS are blocked for abroad. The live concert video in Universal Music Classics channel is the only available for now..

Someone said Forestella sings the same quality in live show or reherasal or in recording 😁😁

They have a really good "Bohemian Rhapsody" (the one from 3 years ago).

They were chosen to be quartet members among the great professional singers. Many songs were covered in the contest. But Forestella is a group of singers who shine more together. Their music is very wide, ranging from wide range to various voice colors and rhythms. It's too early to be surprised. This is a very small part of their music. 🥰🥰🥰🥰

I've watched several reacts to this song but it's first time hearing from a professional and it's very satisfying. if you want to hear more solo of the musical actor at the right i'd recommend their Bohemian Rhapsody cover and the countertenor actually has the widest vocal range among them so he makes the team as if a quintet. he can even sing alone The Phantom of The Opera. i can't wait to see more reacts for them from you.

They are a team of the best people in their fields. First of all, two people who majored in classical training graduated from Seoul National University's vocal department and graduate school after going to an art high school. Two of them all won the best competitions in Korea, which means they have the best skills in classical music. There's something that Cho Mingyu said to Ko Woo-rim in the Phantom Singer competition' We need a new voice because we have similar classical voices. Kang Hyung-ho and Bae Doo-hoon, who have rock and popy vocalizations, were selected by Cho & Ko and became the current Forrestella. What's amazing about them is that they perfectly execute an incredibly wide range of genres and vocal styles, as if they had no limits. Above all, their harmony shines no matter what genre they sing. Be sure to check out how this classic crossover group handles pop, ballad, rock, jazz, tango, trot, folk and dance songs. It's still too early for you to be surprised by their songs. It's a roller-coaster ride of a song and very emotional. His voice is especially phenomenal in that song. It's so full of emotion and it's hard not to get teary eyed. He's so good with bringing emotion when he sings, though they all are, but he's especially good at it.

The group name Forestella is a combined words of forest and stella (star in Italian). This group was made through Phantom Singer 2 in JTBC. The audition show was designed to make a crossover quartet like il Divo from Korea. Through that survival audition the participants had solo showcase first and competition like 1:1, duet vs duet, trio round, quartet round with elimination and drafting in between. And there was random quartet round as well. 3 finalists groups competed and Forestella is the winner group in Phantom Singer 2. Through the Phantom Singer 2 audition, MinGyu(I'll say MG) picked WooRim(WR) as duet partner. They matched vs duet of DooHoon(DH) and Julian Kim (world class opera star who took the protagonista role in Italian opera theater) and won. They drafted DH as trio members. The first quartet MG leaded was named Forest. And there was random quartet round. MG and HyungHo (HH, Pitta) got to be in same team by choosing same colored balls. MG was a considering and dedicating leader so HH wanted to join in MG's team. HH was the only officeworker (he was working as a research chemist in a quite good company) in the show and sang a duet song the Phantom of the Opera by himself fantastically, got million's view video at his first appearance on air, he was considered as a star of the show. One of the Forest got eliminated in the random quartet round and HH joined, so they changed the group name into Forestella welcoming a star (HH) from Forest.

As a Spanish speaker. This song has many versions(I mean, the title one, "Hijo De La Luna" Which means "The Moon's Son"). It tells the story of a woman who prayed to the moon till dawn to get a man and get married. The moon said " You will have your man, but in exchange, I want the first son you two have together". So, the woman got married and they had a son... Sadly(for the woman), the son born with a very very white Skin, and gray eyes, instead of green(like the dad). This made the man thinks the woman cheated on him... He ended up killing her and taking the kid, leaving him alone and abandoned on a mountain. And so, the moon took him. The song finishes explaining why the moon changes its shape. "If the kid cries, she'll change the shape to make him a crib(?)" (🌙). "The nights that there are full moon, it's because the kid is happy" (🌕). I felt like I had to tellthe story ^^. Hope everyone likes it

Wow! Stunning. Just gorgeous. They sound like they've all been at Operatic School for 20 years or more. Hard to believe one had no formal training at all! Which one? And what does that mean for his 'trajectory' once trained! We can see a HUGE career, obviously, as a quartet - but is that sometimes at the expense of solo careers? I thought I spied the Counter Tenor toward the end with a bit of tenor? That's an interesting comment about the 'blend' of timbre &/or vibrato sometimes being an impediment to securing certain roles. How frustrating that must be! Classical singers work Sooooo hard and Arts Funding / roles are often scarce... We really should lobby our Governments to support the Arts far more as well as private sponsorship. Not to mention a a 'catch up' package for the set backs due to Covid.
