Idk if you know but that live performance you reacted to of Epiphany isn't the full song. I highly recommend listening to the full live performance. Thank for reacting. Personally, Jin's voice is so beautiful and underrated (in my opinion).
His voice IS beautiful. Hard to realize that he learned to sing only after he joined the group at age 20 (he is the oldest) He spent many many extra hours to learn to sing and dance and It took him a long time to really feel like he actually contributed to the group. When one of the members got sick and could not perform, Jin actually said it would have been better for the group if it had been him who got sick. So 'Epiphany' is the perfect song for Jin to own, heart and soul. And as he sang the song on their 'Love Yourself' tour, Jin did in fact learn to love and accept himself both in and outside the group. He has become an amazing vocalist whose sincere voice touches our heart. Epiphany and Yours are my two favorites.
I recommand you to listen the full version of Epiphany. You listened just a begining part of Epiphany in this video. There are not highlights of the song. It's so gorgeous. You have to listen the full version of the song in Jin's live performance

I don't if you're aware of it but the "Yours" video was a fan made video with clips from other BTS MVs. It doesn't take away from the analysis of his vocal performance 🙂 And the full live performance of " Epiphany " is absolutely breath taking 💜
I absolutely adore every member of BTS. But Jin was literally picked off the streets because of how incredibly handsome he is for more of an actor role. He worked so hard ! I also think he’s a natural too. I miss him ❤
I finally understood thanks to your video the magic effect of Jin's voice. You target the total relaxation of the lower jaw combined with a generous release of the breath. I think it's this relaxation that creates this proximity effect for our ear and makes it so close to us when he sings. Thanks for this video.
I just discovered your channel. Jin's voice is personally one of my favorite voices in BTS (underrated in my opinion). His voice has such vulnerability and expresses emotions so well. Someone describes his voice as childlike as I think it is a perfect description because children are usually very open and honest with their emotions and his voice does that so well. IDK if you know but the video you watched of Epiphany isn't the full song. There is a beautiful part of the song where he belts. I do hope you check it out (would love to see your reaction but you can watch it on your own if you would like). Also, the Yours video was a fan made video which is fine. Yours is actually an OST for a Kdrama. It is crazy to see his growth from when they debut to now (as well as the other members). Idk if anyone told you but he literally learned to sing and dance while being with BTS (he had zero knowledge of any of it). I think he joined when he was around 18 but they debut when he was 20 (he is also the oldest member). His growth is beautiful to watch and listen too! I recommend listening to his first ever solo song called Awake (live of course). It is such a beautiful song. Another fun song to listen to is Super Tuna which he made for fun and wasn't supposed to be taken seriously. One last recommendation is Astronaut live (he collaborated with Chris Martin of Coldplay on the song. It is his goodbye for now song to ARMY since he is in the mandatory military service right now). Edit: sorry for one more but if you would like a more pop solo song, I recommend his song called Moon

Actually he has no vocal background, he learned to sing and dance from scratch after being scouted for BTS at age 20, before he wanted to be an actor. This was a shortened live performance of Epiphany the later part of song has such beautiful belting.
i believe most actors get vocal lessons in their classes to have a better control of their voices so it's not surprising to see him being such a good singer even though he didn't have any professional singing background
What a delightful reaction! ☺💜 Adding my voice to the recommendations to listen to the whole thing at some point-- and definitely check out the lyrics, also, because they're every bit as touching as his vocals. Jin's range and his control of his break is just incredible, and yes, he definitely sings more strongly in other BTS songs. In one of their songs, "Dionysus," he's mainly singing half of a call-and-response part in chest voice, quite low, but near the end, there's a sound behind the main vocals that I initially thought was a siren. (It's *also* Jin.)

Also just to add up, Jin has an acting degree in one of the most prestigious Universities in SK making him a great actor hence he delivers all the right emotions on every song. Amongst the members he displays the most sentiments and passion on every live performance but they all are great performers on and off stage. Jin and Suga are my equal biases. Jin's voice and delivery evokes a sense of nostalgia and sentimentality. He's an incredible balladeer and knows how to deliver an emotional performance. Sometimes you can hear heartbreak in his voice. Both Jin and Suga have made me cry.
and what I admire about him is that he started to take voice training and sing at the age of 20. with his hardwork and passion, he got to where he is now. and he sings with so much emotions like he is telling a story.

Jin and Suga my favs too. But did you know he had no idea how to sing or dance when he joined. He was for their visual film effect but trainer had as a singer and dancer and blows me away everytime. So beautiful. He sings with so so much passion makes me feel what he is singing. I love his OST songs. So beautiful and are perfect for them.

There was something called Korean age in Korea but now law already change so ya. He was scouted at the age of 17 and had no background for music. Bc he was acting major and wanted to be an actor. And after 2years bts debuted when he was 19. Jin is youngest maknae(Child)of his family. He's so well mannered known as nation son in law in Korea bc he's great ideal and role model for man. Bc he's talented, hardwoking, inspiring, lovable, caring,well mannered and do have great personality..!
A nice reaction, but why only a pinch of the song? There is so much more of his beautiful voice that you havent heard. The most amazing fact about Jin is that he had to learn to sing when he joined BTS. But the notes he reaches later song are amazing, his voice is really powerful. Yours is an exercise in pure control. Never too much, never too little. Jin can belt, probably the best in BTS, and you missed his powerful belt in Epiphany.

Tye more impressive and mind-blowing is that he couldn't sing when he came tochis agency in 2011. So it's all from his immense efforts and training. He was practicing day and bight. I also hope to hear him in more rock song, i think he willcsound amazing on a rock song.

This was the live one that was good quality that popped up, otherwise it was fan videos and lyrics videos. I didn't know the song so assumed this was it 😭 I'm now looking through, there's one of him with purple hair and a white jacket? I saw JKs song that looked to be on the same performance, but it was so obviously lip synced I didn't want to react to it, because there's simply no reason for everyone to hear me bang on about lipsyncing. 😅 Having listened to epiphany just now of that show, it's also lip synced so it's not fair to the artist or to fans for me to analyze it.
@Studio173 they're not lipsynched, but if it's a video by fans the quality might jot be good and so would look lipsynched..they sing well live. There may be back vocals, but they do sing live and do it so well.
"Yours" was not my fav but other comments are right the original mv is more moving. Others I like by Jin are Tonight and Awake. Tonight does not get enough love, very emotional
loved your take on bts song. allow me to recommend a performance that it's one of my favorites (as non specialist in music) not bts related, but for sure kpop related. please search for "fantastic duo taeyang eyes nose lips" it's the performance with more than 5 minutes. you won't regret and real music and k pop fans love it (context fan singing with artist) this one is stuck on my playlist forever😊
hi, as someone who doesn't know the technical terms for singing, why do you mean by "support"? how can a note be more supported than other? or what could happen when a note isn't being properly supported? i hope you don't take this the wrong way, i genuinely don't know what it means and i've seen so many people use this term so i'm curious. also, my favourite solo songs from jin are The Astronaut (his debut single) and Awake (his first solo in bts) and he has performed both live so i hope you check them out soon.
Hi 👋 when we talk about how well supported a note is, we are meaning the adequate amount of breath pressure or compressed air in our lungs to keep the vocal folds vibrating at the speed they need to to achieve notes. This means our core support which we use to help with the release of our breath comes into play too. If you don't have a well supported note, eg, not enough breath pressure, you will either crack on a note as the folds can not continue vibrating as they need to, or you may experience strain 😊.
