He was right , live singing mean singing without autotune or any editing in the voice, but killing voice and a lot of Korean music shows almost always edited singers vocals even if they don't need to this , and that what happen with teayeon . If you want a pure live vocals from teayeon , you will find it just on her concert. Sorry for my bad English.

I'm sorry, but just because she was singing live in the moment doesn't mean the audio hasn't been digitally edited to hell and back. That's the nature of 'live' live performances. Every single artist, even Ariana Grande, gets their audio processed. It's not unique to Taeyeon, so don't get your panties twisted.

He didn't say Taengu wasn't singing live, he said that it has post-production, which it does. Lots of pitch correction and smoothening to give a better outcome, and they didn't exactly make it subtle. The reverb was super strong. Also reminder that she had to sing 20 minutes straight with no breaks and this was her final song (and arguably one of her most difficult AND she had 0 live stage experience of Drawing Our Moments because her Purpose tour was already set in stone before the repackage came out). Taeyeon is a capable vocalist, but she's human nonetheless. She makes mistakes, and for projects like this (because she's basically representing a 3rd party in Dingo AND she's there to promote an album), they need the final video to be 100% perfect. Everything uses pitch correction. It saves time and money. It doesn't make singers less capable, it just makes the outcome more perfect and it costs more money and time to re-shoot/re-record. Even professional Broadway albums use pitch correction. It's just industry standard. Think of it like Photoshop. Does Gigi Hadid use Photoshop on her professional shoots? Yes. Is she ugly? Fuck no. I've been a SONE since 2009. I'm confident with her abilities that I don't feel the need to have a reactor validate my thoughts on her vocal abilities. Just enjoy the video or, if it doesn't make you feel good, watch something else. Life's too short to spend it being frustrated, haha.

Exactly man...most of the time she just needs reverb and backtrack to fill out the spaces which are hard and needed for breathing....

I haven't seen the rehearsal video and admittedly I am far from being qualified to explain audio editing, but I don't think Sam is suggesting that there's anything wrong with her natural singing. Even if someone sings perfectly live, they might want to process the recording so that we can hear the desired acoustics through our headphones. And since she's singing to a separate backing track, they'd probably have to process the audio so it mixes well despite being from different sources. Granted my only recording experience has been with a phone for school things, so I definitely welcome corrections!

I think you're misunderstanding what Sam is saying. Regardless of the fact that Taeyeon is a phenomenal singer and is singing live, this was still a recorded session. Video editors are literally hired to edit these live performances regardless of who the singer is and how well they sing to "clean up" the audio quality of the videos. While she doesn't "need" editing, it will still be edited.

Taeyeon is one of the best vocalists in kpop history but fans need to stop being delusional, she sang live but dingo edited it after just like they do to every single performance.

I think , like he said its not like she didn't sing live, its more at the end result that we hear on the video is already touch-up with autotune, not completely raw vocals like we hear in concerts. Which is a normal thing, because channels like Killing Voice, Masked Singers or "It's Live" where they claimed that its live 100% is obviously a lie bcus the editors edit their voice so much to sound "perfect" to viewers. I think the only place where idols can sing 100% live is on radio station.

Absolutely agree with this comment. This reactor is not aware what Taeyeon is capable of. Bad for him. I wonder if he can do a livestream and sing LIVE so we can hear his ever so perfect voice “without computer edit” LOL

He never said she needed anything. Most decent singers don't, and she's obviously very skilled and experienced. The post production thing is a stylistic thing and has become the norm in pop music nowadays. Basically, a good singer sings well, maybe even perfect, and still, in post production they add reverb or compression or some type of sound effect to achieve what we associate with the modern vocal sound. If you were older and/or remembered/were accustomed to how older recordings and performances sounded, you would identify this "computer production" easily. It makes singing sound hyper polished and like studio version (because studio versions also have vocal effects). And it doesn't mean she isn't excellent nor that she made a mistake.

This kind of fans did know nothing about how producing a show. This is just sad, twisting every word form the reactor.
