Just because the VAs acknowledge each other doesn't mean the fans have to lol. I'm sure the English dub is great, but unfortunately I can only hear one audio track at a time, and for me that's going to be the Japanese original. I also think Masakazu Morita's Ichigo has much more passion when delivering certain lines. A passion that I cannot imagine Ichigo without.

@@suicunesolsan So you’re basically saying that all English dubs lack emotion or “passion”. How do you know? What makes you such an expert in voice acting? Not every subbed version is infallible, dude. Some dubs are better, some subs are better and some anime series are great both dubbed and subbed. It’s that simple. So why isn’t that enough?

@@Shinigami15436 Lol, did they say all English dubs or did they say one character from one anime? Because I think it's the latter. . . Also, they literally said "I'm sure the English dub is great". Further, they didn't claim to be an expert, they just gave their opinion. For me, while there are some great English speaking VAs, I generally default to the Sub over the Dub. I find that Dubs often have at least one or two VAs who are just horrible. And I don't mind reading subs and I have gotten used to understanding inflection in Japanese, even if I only understand like 5% of what is being said.

@@wschamps427 The original voice of Kisuke retired sometime around fake Karakura town and was replaced by the guy who did Gin. Then Kisuke's original voice actor died 1 or 2 years ago.

Even more crazy if you've been following Johnny's career since the mighty morphin power ranger days like I have. I did'nt even know he worked on anime until this show came out and even then it took me awhile. I kept having this strange feeling like ok that voice sounds really familiar. One day during high school i finally looked up his voice actor on the internet and got my answer. In short Johnny is awesome and I'm so happy I watch anime, not only is he now the voice of a really important charachter in One Piece but he get's to return to the role that first made me aware that he was a voice actor and finish that series properly.

I was really expecting both of them to say Getsuga Tenshou for the final line.

I hate it. It's obvious that Japanese seiyuu are pressured to make these shows of politeness to English voice actors. The former are coerced by Japan's culture of politness to sacrifice their self-respect to pretend that the latter are their equals.

Bleach is one of only animes where the sub and dub is great. Not many animes in my eyes can pull that off. One piece used to pull it off but after water 7 arc it got terrible

@@meurumtrain4747 I think it helps that I watched the Bleach dub when it came out, so I have nostalgia for it. I never grew up on the subs. With One Piece, my exposure to anything dubbed was 4Kids, but after that, I only watched it subbed. When I went back to see how some of the voices sound dubbed, while I do think some voices work, like Zoro, Nami, Usopp, etc, with voices like Franky and Rayleigh, I just can't even. Franky is one of my favorite Straw Hats, and 40% of that is the Japanese voice actor, and Franky's dub voice sounds like a surfer dude, and instead of sounding regal and wise, Rayleigh sounds like a bitter and crotchety old man. I don't like those voices at all. I could _never_ watch One Piece dubbed.

That's the thing. Japanese VAs are forced to give shows of respect to English VAs, out of pressure from Japan's culture of politeness. If they were allowed to be candid without judgment, I think Japanese VAs would consider English VAs beneath them as much as fans of Japanese VAs do.

@@theflamingfreezer8478 Not really . Its just hard for certain fans to accept when someone who you look up to likes something that you think that they would hate because you don't like it . It happens in music all the time.

Johnny was going to make his voice sound closer to Morita’s performance but the English director wanted to tone it down for the English audience.

So Johnny voices lelouch from code geass (if you haven’t seen it please watch, without a doubt a top 20 anime of all time).

When I first heard him as Marco in One piece I got goosebumped. He is so talented.

Makasazu's got the right voice fer link in the Skyward Sword prequel manga. If he AND James Arnold Taylor voiced Link in that prequel manga, it'd be great AND epic!

I started out in the same way! Except I started watching the dub version and wanted to catch up by reading the manga (during the Arrancar arc before they dubbed it), then I watched the subbed. So like you, I think there's something amazing about both the dubbed and subbed interpretations and really appreciate both! Wish more people could be more wholesome about just enjoying everything about Bleach, period.

@@stepehend2498 Totally agree! Dub!Aizen is perfection. For such a huge cast, I think the choices on both ends of the park are fantastic. And this is even when I do have preferences. I.E, I think dub!Grimmjow could have been better. I would have preferred a VA with a deeper candor like Junichi Suwabe. But I also prefer dub!Hitsugaya, over the Japanese. It's fun to have an appreciation for both sides.

@@misswednesday299 that's basically the same way I got through Bleach. I liked the story so much I couldn't wait for the dub to catch up so I watched the Hueco Mundo arc subbed and after ran out of episodes I started reading the manga about the time the second Ichigo and Ulquiorra fight came out. I remember waiting for that fight to be animated so badly lol. Wasn't disappointed.

i started watching bleach on hulu in sub (back when hulu was actually free to watch with no account, crazy huh?) and like after almost 300 episodes in (somewhere around karakura arc) i finally got tired of reading the screen and switched to dub. then after a few years of not watching it i tried to watch it in english, but then went back to sub cause i preferred it lol. might have saw some of the movies in english too. it is strange hearing them together. im not a big fan of bleach dub but jyb is perfect for ichigo.

they probably wont, there is a decent shot of david lodge returning for kenpachi seeing as patrick seitz is in support of the idea but ikkaku probably isnt getting his VA back
