Voidkind by DVNE - METAL ALBUM REVIEW 

I think that Post/Sludge sound is my favorite flavor of progressive metal over the past few years. Bands like DVNE, The Ocean, Intronaut, or Anciients. They take that traditional post-metal vibes of bands like Isis, Cult of Luna, or Neurosis and layer on the progressive and sludgy edges that just makes it so appealing for me. If I had to suggest another band, I’d recommend listening to the album “Of Valleys and Mountains” by the band Pull Down the Sun. It has that same style with a heavy Gojira influence. It’s their only album so far, but they might have another coming out this year

Funny that you review this very album today, as I just published my own review on my blog. I was also expecting a lot (Etemen Ænka was also my Album of the Year) and I feel Voidkind is a bit less powerful. It's less homogenous, it has less great riffs, but it's still a pretty good album.

I haven't listened to the album, will do soon. Huge fan of the past album. I still come back to it from time to time

Really good album.Wasn't superexited after first listen,but more was into it the more I enjoy it . Especially after gig in birmingham i come back to it very often.The band even signed my vinyl after the gig so I am greatful for this!

I'm a little disapointed on a super high level. Etemen Aenka is such a heavy burden ...
