Back in August of 2021 I made a somewhat last-minute decision to go to Tulsa to see a man about a boat, SV Seeker or, "The Boat the Internet Built". It was my first long-distance motorcycle adventure, a true test of the abilities of the Honda CB500X imho, and it was a heckin' good time! This is a short PART ONE of what was a six-day riding excursion. I hope you enjoy!

Given that this was over a year ago and nothing new has popped up, we can only assume he drowned in the downpour. R.I.P. Kfoto on a Moto.

What's the polar opposite of nails on a chalkboard? I'm not sure, but your voice and cadance has got to be fairly close! lol great video, Kfoto. Getting me excited for the upcoming spring on my 500X. Excited for part II!

Wow thanks so much! Really appreciate that even though I hate the sound of my own voice, as does everyone I think! Ha Really hope you enjoy Part II and definitely get ready for riding season! That 500X is just raring to go, I bet!

Hey mate, I know its been a while since you uploaded but WE NEED MORE UPLOADS. However question, What type of helmet you have?
@kfotomoto
@kfotomoto Год назад
Yeah apologies there! I stopped filming once the 500 was gone- First came an Indian Scout Bobber but now I’m riding the AT ES! My first helmet was the AGV K3 with a chromo visor (a must!), but now I have my 2nd Arai XD-4 👍👍

I have a 2021 500x I love this bike I am 65 years old and I traded my gold wing in on it because it is fun to ride

Agreed! It’s an absolute hoot of a ride to through around in the city and on dirt tracks. I’ve recently found it quite excellent for ramping ‘speed humps’ :D

What windscreen and throttle lock? Buffeting fixed?
@kfotomoto
@kfotomoto Год назад
MOSTLY fixed with the windshield extender: Justech Motorbike Wind Deflector... www.amazon.com/dp/B07RYLLVS1?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share The throttle lock needed some epoxy to hold the pressure pad on but then was amazing, that was an Atlas throttle lock 👍

Where did you stay during your stops? How did the luggage work out for you? Do you think hard case luggage would have been better?
@kfotomoto
@kfotomoto 2 года назад
I was going to camp but weather worked against me- first severe storms plus flooded campsites and then 95+ temps overnight along my route… Hotels were the thing! I think I would have preferred hard cases for this type of travel, but they cost so much more plus it is difficult to find the correct mounting brackets here in the states, on short notice. I was able to find a plethora of mounting options in Europe but not the states. Again, the cost difference was dramatic: I purchased two different sets of soft bags (touratech & mosko) for the cost of hard cases w/ racks

@@kfotomoto gotcha. Yeah there’s no way I’m camping in that type of heat. A few days ago I purchased a pre-owned BMW F750GS with Lone Rider soft panniers and they’ve been working out really well. I’m glad they came with the bike because I don’t think I’d shell out the $1,200 for them. Not because they’re not worth it, only because I’m cheap :)

AMEN. I don’t mind spending money but I do want to be strategic! How’s the 750?? I looked at those once but it wasn’t for me… I hear good things tho!
@KillSwitch80
@KillSwitch80 2 года назад
@@kfotomoto I’ve only been able to take it out once but so far it’s been great. Just a super smooth ride. I have to make a few adjustments. The only downside I’ve noticed is the weight but I’m hoping its just me riding a new bike and get less noticeable as I spend more time on it. The low seat height is a plus as I’m 5’5”.

Let me know when you put some miles down as I definitely want to hear how it goes over time.
