"Whether the screen is a window to happiness or a barrier for happiness is subjective, but I imagine that a lot of people have experienced a sense of lost opportunity after having been absorbed in the screen at the wrong time and place. I surely have. It was with this image in mind that I began working on a video for Ruby Pool. I surely have. It was with this image in mind that I began working on a video for Ruby Pool. It was shot at 9 different outdoor locations on Zealand, Denmark, during April and May 2019. /Asger.

Life certainly isn't meant to be lived staring at various screens. I love the way you address this topic throughout the album. In modern times so many people have really embraced narcissism through our phones and social media. Anyway, love the video and album, I hope you guys can make it to the states some day. I'd really enjoy seeing you live and getting to meet each of you (especially your damn inspirational drummer).

A good friend of mine once jokingly told me that Scandinavian metal videos are probably made by travel advertising companies due to the absolutely gorgeous scenery. This video takes that idea and combines it with the themes of the song and album by showing us how we are distracted from the beauty around us. For this reason it takes my favorite VOLA song and gives it my favorite music video I have yet seen.

Love the concept: "Whether the screen is a window to happiness or a barrier for happiness is subjective". It's both, and we have to be careful with it. Let children get bored and be creative, stop giving them whatever they want and don't use your phone to make them quiet. And you, too, stop reading whatsapps and checking instagrams, read something and learn new stuff everyday.

I feel like it is becoming rare to find music that has deeper, important undertones about humanity and where we are headed. Asger feels very relatable, as an authentic human being with real feelings and worries. VOLA always delivers musically and metaphorically.

Its sad VOLA may never be a top 100 band purely because of genre, but they truly deserve it. One thing you can be endlessly proud of though as artists is how many other artists you inspire. I actively try to share VOLA to as many people as I can and I havent had a single bad reaction. I will continue to do this until I the day I die.

VOLA isn't commercial the way most if not all top 100 chart artists are. I hope it remains that way. I don't think the ignorant masses can appreciate the music the way it deserves.

Perfectly expressed!!! I'd prefer that they write the music that they want, the way they want. I totally agree. I don't think everyone can appreciate how complex and unique their music is. I've never seen a quartet sound that good live. Their bassist is so fun to watch as well.

@@DogOfEgypt I think you need to relax and stop being elitist about music. I've actually shown VOLA to hundreds of normal people and every single one has enjoyed them. Every single one. Rap fans, pop fans, dance fans, rock fans. You have a lot of growing to do. Especially when you say you want the bands you like to be forced to remain at a certain level to satisfy your own feelings

Fantastic song from a great album. Came out of nowhere into my life this band did. Love the production, stellar use of reverb. I run a small music studio in Norway, and this album has become one of my go-to records when I mix. Such emotional vibe on this track, and I can totally relate to the lyrics. Great work all over.

i always pictured the singer slightly smiling whenever id listen and i was right when i searched for the video. this is one of the few songs recently that makes me not dread the past... sometimes. very glad this showed up in my discover weekly. hardly find any good songs on there but this one stuck. also, that bass sounds so good inbetween the melodic guitar (dont hate me i know nothing about how music works)

I have been totally mesmerised by total gem of VOLA band since seeing them perform as support for Haken earlier this year. Not sure how I did not manage to stumble across them but so far loving musical journey and converted to full time fan. Both albums, as radically different from each other bring warmth and positive aspect to my daily existence. Hugely grateful to experience their talent and hoping to hear some new material soon too :-)
