i do enjoy these videos, but sometimes i wish hed listen to the commentator [the strange rocks affect my sensors, stuff wont work] seconds later "why dont my radars work? [this planet has gravity anomalies] "hmm, grenades are being weird, must be a graphics setting" [wind/solar is bad, use geothermal] "hmm, barely making power.. MORE SOLAR " lol
its just a guess... but those snails are probably kill-able with one of the damage types you never use... second guess - your alien database panel will tell you if you scan enough of them just guesses until i can afford to buy that game
I think your voice comes a bit too early. At 46:21 you say you are at -60 Power but the HUD stills shows -98. But its not distractable. The game Audio is fine.
It's great to see that you're having fun with the new PC. I'm actually looking to get a backup PC in the Mele Quieter 2. It certainly can't play more demanding games, but that's why we have Factorio!
The radar method to stop respawns doesn't work so well on the acidic maps, the acidic yeast colonies still respawn wherever they want and destroy the buildings around them. I also had a LOT of ion storms trying to set up on that map, and enemies will spawn during ion storms when radar is down.
The final wave on that mission was quite crazy compared to any previous ones I encountered. I had 2 miners left standing. "We defended the outpost. I call it a day!" Whatever you say Ashley...
hammer, gloves and plasma weapons crack the slugs no problem, but I always add a second damage type to my weapon mods just so i have a easy time hitting enemy weaknesses. they drop almost every type of mineral you have unlocked so they are worth killing if you have the dps for it. also scanning beyond your basic tier 1 familiarity unlocks more info about the animals plants, then eventually increases both your loot drop rate and damage against them.
The titanium and grenades launching up into low planetary orbit made sense because they said gravity was said to be around 10%. I think that was a nice touch the developers did.
The reason why those pieces of titanium bounced so far away in the one area is because the gravity in that area was only .56G so approximately half of normal gravity.
Snails are not impervious. Plasma works just fine but they do take 200% damage from corrosive. If you get familiarity level of a creature to 3 you can see what it's weak and resistant to. Beyond that level you'll only get a slight damage multiplier and material drop bonus. The weird loot bouncing in the radar mission was due to the area having lower gravity. You can drag-build the 4x4 concrete platforms and it will still come out as 4x4 platform. Don't forget the laboratory upgrades! The third research page uses it's own research buildings to determine the speed. As you could see the magma power was taking ages already.
In my opinion, a bit more than ordinary tower defence games. You need to setup a base to support your towers and a main story goal, but it's not that complex. On the plus side you can mix pew-pew with base building to suite your current desires - build towers and staff to do killing or just go and blast them yourself.
Coming from mostly FPS and lots of RTS games when I was younger (Starcraft, WCIII, Command and conquer etc), I can’t stop playing this damn game. A lot to learn and countless ways to play it. I’ve probably logged about 16 hrs on it in the last 2 days 😅. Happy with my purchase so far and excited to see what they bring to it in the future. They have promised coop too which sounds cool.
the way you play and run up and kill all the enemies really urks me there's a reason you build defenses it's so you can watch your defense merk em, also if you had a platform on your wall you could stand there and use the nuke while your defense shoots them.
Since you now own a monster of a PC with plenty storage and performance, I would love for you to upgrade to 1440P (2K) or even 4K resolution, increasing the quality of the videos. Especially with very busy graphical "noise" as a quick/fastpace game like this. The RU-vid compression makes the videos look blurry, higher bitrates would make it look much better (I think RU-vid wants you to upload better than 1080P content nowadays). Also I have a 1440P monitor, so all 1080P content does not look sharp.
The magma power plant is wonderful, 3 lv.3 pumps are enough to sustain 2 lv.3 magma power plants meaning 2000 free energy, and the magma is literally everywhere. Also, the Dash - Fire is almost useless in volcanic biome since all enemies has fire resistance, and installing Homing Projectile mod for you minigum will make it much better as the bullets just magically hit the enemies
The minable ones all come from the missions in the Orbital Scanner. The gems (Hazenite, Tanzenite, etc.) all come from various plants. Scan things with your bioscanner to build familiarity. Once you have them in your encyclopedia, you can use the Cultivators and Harvesters to get an infinite supply of them.
It might be worth it to add a layer of walls around your miners, since they're impassible anyway. Maybe add a repair tower near important ones too? I think it would out-heal small critters and slow down the bigger ones.
Reminder: if you let the corrosive spores multiply too much, the game can become unable to save and you can’t leave the area. There is no space to RP Ashley’s suggestion of avoiding interference with the local flora and fauna…
