The interior quality is best in the class and offers one of the best engine options, despite its very uninteresting exterior

They stopped exporting them to us aboit 5 years ago. We complained that it wasn't big enough & too pricy. We had the same complaint about the Taoureg, which is why we won't be getting them anymore either. They'll be replaced by dumbed down, U.S. built versions.

can start/stop feature be turned off permanently or you have to do it every time you drive?screw that feature,best way to screw up your engine in a long run but mechanics are happy.

I wanted to one of these but stopped immediately when I learned the the VW charges 510 euro for knee airbag on Highline trim! Ridiculous. Really? For an obvious safety feature on Highline trim another 510 Euro?

At a stand still it s a noisy diesel. It s quiet on the highway like every other new sedan. We'll talk in 7 ys about how quiet and reliable this is. So far it s a nice design made out of plastic inside and outside.

USA Passat looks like CRAP ! Go to VW USA website to find that the Passat shown here, is not what is being offered in the USA.

yes I have noticed...i even test drove the 2017 passat SEL premium...it looks nothing like the one in the video...I guess in US it will be the 2018 model...

The US model is different from everywhere else. In Australia we have the European version. I do NOT like the styling of the US market version.

I'm sorry to say i would rather a 2018 Camry to this, this just looks bland all through. I have never been a major fan of VW cars really.

***** VW and their cheating with emissions is far worse. There's no manufacturer who hasn't had recalls at some point, absolutely none except may be bespoke limited cars like Rolls Royce

VW's don't have funky designs with lots of neon colour lights but they are pretty solid with a good finish and far better to drive than any Toyota here in the UK apart from the GT86. I like my current Golf, but will probably swap to a different German car next

Design is highly subjective and personal. There is no right or wrong when it comes to your personal preference; it's what YOU find aesthetically pleasing. Cool. I will say this though; the Volkswagen Passat, unlike the Camry, has always had an evolving design evolution, inside and out. This is especially true for the last few generations. The Camry? Not to take anything away from it, but Toyota isn't really renowned for evolving design. The Camry design evolution doesn't exist. Is this a big deal? Not really. I think design isn't high on the list of Camry shoppers. Though the newest Camry looks quite sharp on the outside, but I can't warm up to that mess of an interior design.
