I bought this car, tsi manual in August 20, and i feel redemeed by the most informative performace review of it that i have come across. I am glad that the reviewer has captured exactly my experience of the polo tsi manual. I also felt that gear downshift is resistive, gear stick length little difficult to reach, breaking is hard at times, at low rev than 1500 car is dead in higher gears for acceleration. Clutch pedal throw length is too long. But, man, on highways, this car is baap of many big cars, and on ghats it is even baap of baaps. Only city drive in heavy bumper to bumper traffic and hill hold on slow moving traffic is tiring in this car. Overall i am happy and feel lucky that i chose a great car for my first individual buy. I enjoyed the fact that you got so many things right about this car on a short drive which i slowly realised over few months. I drive the dsg version but many of the things mentioned made sense. Thank you.

@@vikrantsingh6916 well, I have an 8 year old (second hand) Mini Cooper S R56, the BMW second Gen with the Turbo Petrol 1.6 L Peugeot Prince N18 engine. This was the first Gen in India. Nothing really comes close to the fun factor this car gives. A couple of pals of mine have the VW GTi’s and yes those are the perfect ‘sleeper’ cars because they look so innocuous and pack such a lot of punch.

For those on a tight budget, even the base Polo Trendline looks great over any other hatchback (even looks better than the newly launched i20). the brakes on the polo with ABS feels like they wont stop but trust me they just stop where you want.... I am driving my non ABS polo since 2013 got the same feeling when i drove my friends polo with ABS but very soon i realized that there is nothing to worry about. just drive hard and have the smile on your face. 😃😃
@@shouryakuriyal9810 No competition and manual polo tsi is a beast . If you want you can easily get 17 kmpl mileage and if you want power u can easily take the machine 140 in third gear . It is class apart . Cons if i say rear seat space is less else no cons i think . POLO IS LIKE SILENCE BEFORE THE STORM ⛈.

To me heel and toe is easier than the Figo that I previously owned. I guess you should wear broader shoes if you really wanna heel and toe 😝 anyway loved the review and love my one month old Polo 1.0 TSI❤️
How is it for city traffic, I did a test drive and gear 2 and 3 were enough for Bangalore traffic. Although could not drive in bumper to bumper traffic
I think we will do this series with sporty SUVs soon. Clearly , it’s something many viewers like you want to know. And when we do, we will try and add the Seltos.

Heel and toe for rev matching ? Isn't throttle input/ fuel supply cut off while engaging the clutch in polo ? Or does the new tsi allow throttle input during clutch in ?
The steering feedback is just unreal in this car. I drive an MPI Polo and no other car that I’ve driven feels the same in terms of how connected the driver feels with this, both in terms of handling and the engine sound. It has spoiled me lmao
@vikrant singh sir , which one would you suggest me : Volkswagen Polo or New Hyundai i20 ? We are 3 members in family and I would be having daily use in the city with preference of long drives in the weekend .
I too thought that earlier but as i received my kit late by 3 months, in reality the decals look much nicer than what i had imagined after watching the various vidoes.
Swift gives you a little of lift off oversteer that makes it fun in the corners, the Polo with the new smaller engine also feels lively with a lighter front end but it still stays more neutral , especially with the larger wheels
Sir, Please review Brezza Automatic Petrol also. I was looking to buy between Skoda Rapid, Brezza and Polo. I have booked Brezza but the 4 speed gearbox makes me iffy. I was got drawn to the easy maintenance, cheaper spares and wider after sales network of Maruti. Kindly opine on which would be good choice amongst the three: Polo, Skoda and Brezza. Infact after taking test drive of ford freestyle titanium plus and polo tsi back to back, i decided to opt for polo tsi, as freestyle had all the package but i sensed Ford has decided to cost cut and compromise on many subtle things, be it plastic quality, panel gaps etc, or on reducing the features in bs6 version.
@@elnino9106 hard to decide for me to recollect about steering response which one is better, but polo's steering is meditative zen like, precise, doesnt gets preturbed by road conditions but freestyle's steering is responsive to outside condition.
The best in a segment doesn’t mean it’s lovely or great or something you’d fall in love with. All it means is - in a community pool, at that given moment, it is the best swimmer. Is all.
A better infotainment system with navigation n geo connect option will make polo 100% better hatch in india.. well, without these add on's Polo is 99% hot hatch! (Using polo since 2011.. Currently 2018 model H+)

Your review speaks volumes. An old car being hashed around by VW instead of bringing us the new polo available everywhere else. The engine is ok but nothing earth shattering. The Honda City ivtec is a much better car, unless you cannot live with anything but a small hatchback. The Polo works but doesn't really satisfy the soul.
Yes, i too noticed that. Tfsi has evolved from tsi to add both direct injection and port injection to avoid carbon sludge deposit problem on valves as the valves do not get oil for cleaning function, in tsi direct injection.
If possible kindly rank the cars that came through this driver series.. "CarWale DRIVER'S RANK": 1, 2 or 3.. Like New video can change the list. Just a suggestion...
@@subashbabus1152 polo would be the best drivers car. Maintenance will be expensive. Back seat is cramped. Tsi manual is a great engine. Freestyle more ground clearance. Has very good diesel engine. Good to drive. Ecosport is a mini suv. More ground clearance. More features. I ended up going for the Ecosport diesel.
