Just underneath the oil cap, there's a round black cap with 2 x 10mm? bolts securing it, can this be removed to refill the oil?, as it looks very restrictive filling oil where the oil cap is. Pretty sure I've seen another video somewhere of him doing this.
I'll be doing an oil change on one of these soon. I take it you replace the oil seals on the oil filter stem and cap? Also, I couldn't quite see where the oil level was on the dip stick when you brought it to the camera, was it to the top of the hatched area on the dip stick, or the TOP "crease"mark?, as there looks to be a lower and top crease mark. Cheers.
I have a question, a VW Polo 1.2 of 70 hp 6R, to change spark plugs is it imperative to buy originals from the brand so as not to make a mistake or can we buy brands like Bosch or NGK or similar in competition? I heard an engineer say that he saw a case where they put some NGKs and it went wrong after a few kilometers, which then went out.
i have the same polo as this it constantly runs rough and misfires on cylinder 2, it’s had new spark plugs and coil pack still issue remains it’s been serviced and had compression test on cylinder 2 do you have any other suggestions as it’s apparently a common problem on the 1.2 non turbo but i’m yet to find a solution
To be honest those 3 things you mentioned is what I would have told uou to do, Spark Plug - Coil Pack - Compression test. As you have done them all of these I don’t really know what to say apart from cleaning out your injectors or your timing could be out.
How often do you change the oil on this car? My wife has the same car but she forgot to change the oil and she did 12000 miles so I had the oil changed recently.
Factory recommend is around 9000 mikes because of the Long Life oil but personally I change my oil and oil filter every 4000-5000 miles and do a full service every 8000 miles oil-oil filter-air filter-spark plugs-cabin filter, Hope this helps if so please like subscribe & share 👍🏽
This is my personal car so I always replace everything when the service is due also yes the only thing to check really is the dust build up but definitely worth replacing anyway
How’s it going mate nice seeing the RU-vid grow.. just a quick question. I have a 1.2 polo 2011. I’ve been to euro car parts and Halfords they are both suggesting different oils for the car. On is saying 5w30 LL and the other is saying 5w30 c3. Do you know which is better and if I could use 5w40 ? And if I can will this be a better quality of oil. Thanks
The difference in oil is normally down to how old your car is, mileage ect including. But they (car accessories shop) should be asking you that in order to give you the best oil for your car. Some are thicker than others. Hope that helps 👍
Great video! With the socket for removing the spark plug, have you used a thin walled one? I’m finding my socket will not fit in the channel to reach the plug. What brand/model socket are you using?
Yes it is a thin wall socket specifically made with a rubber grommet inside to remove spark plugs. The brand of this tool is U.S Pro 16mm Spark Plug Socket 3/8 drive hope this helps thanks
Hello I see recently there is lot of vibration and engine is also shaking a bit. (Newly changed parts Idler, tensioner, compressor , 3 Spark plugs, Serpentine belt ). Engine also feel bit louder. Any suggestions really appreciated.
How much should you pay for each spark plug? I’m on euro car parts and there’s a few spark plugs that come up for my car. There’s two different spark plugs that come up that are both made by Bosch but one is £6 and one is £30. Does it matter which one I buy?
Mines are Rhino ramps have been good for 3 plus years now but with my Abarth 500 which is on coilover’s I can’t just drive on straight need to improvise and drive on to 2 old dumbell weights first 😂
@@jaysworkshopgarage thanks, I have preowned polo 2011 1.2mpi 70k running, issue is 8-9 milage in Pune city, so visited to service centre , there analysis is after market spark plug and ignition coil fitted which causes low mileage. It is true?
I have a 2009 1.2 polo and I want to increase performance. Would changing the air filter do this? Really like cars just havent a clue about the mechanics of them.
My complete honest opinion no not really it will just make a bit of noise if you fit an induction kit to it, hope this helped please like subscribe and share 👍🏽
Same car Done 3 new plugs but engine won’t start, gas arrives on injectors, I can see spark out of plugs but engine runs over without starting. Eobd shows 0 error
I had same problem with a Seat Ibiza 1.2 the other day turned out to be fuel pump try folding the rear seats to access the fuel pump give it a few taps with a hammer and see if the car starts also check that video out of mine on the Seat ibiza Fuel Pump hope it helps please like subscribe and share 👍🏽
video gives information but work done was not that much perfect eg., failed to clean the oil cup/cap,o ring ,venting and rough handing while removing spark plug etc.,.also pay little time to show the spare to catch its number
