VoltBike Mariner 2018 First Impressions

I am sorry you got your bike stolen and I am very happy you decided to buy another one . I hope the lock you have now deters the thieves from now on brother ! :o) Happy riding .......

hmmm Ameer judging by the locking cable you had it was an EASY steal - hope you read my comment on the that video regarding locks ; anyway, the new one has upgrades so....meantime appreciate your videos and hope this one gets BETTER locking system !

Darn shame about the stolen bike, and lack of water proofness on the control module. Thanks for your impressions! I am leaning towards the Voltbike Urban, for the reduced weight up and down my narrow staircase. Unfortunately, Voltbike had been out of stock. Looking forward to your wintertime observations!

I really appreciate the review. Mine is on a truck to me as I type this. Since you had a negative experience with theft, what kind of lock did you go with? Since it is a fat bike would you recommend the longer U locks over the standard?

Hi Ameer nice review, I am curious to know how was your previous Mariner stolen ? They angle grind you lock ? You had a good quality lock ? I am thinking of buying a Mariner as well and I also live in the Montreal area. Thanks !

Hello again Ameer, i was wondering if you could help to clarify some confusing info from Voltbike's online page for me? On the site, for the Mariner 2018 is written that the battery included is a 48w 14.5Ah battery, but right next to this is an image of a samsung cell of 11.6Ah. Which did you get? It seems like a leftover picture from updating the page of an older model but it would be nice to have a clear picture. :)

Sweet, thanks for the overview and pointing out that damn latch flaw. By the way, how quickly can you reach peek max speeds 32kph-ish on this one with a relatively flat surface? I live in Villeray and commute to Ubi StLaurent daily so its mostly flat but has quite a bit of red rights on the way which makes it tedious to stop and go all the time. Really like the compact format but i do want something with enough kick to accelerate to mid 20's for traveling with trafic.

Thanks for posting this. I've been looking around for the past couple of months for a used e-bike, or perhaps something new that isn't too expensive (in Montreal)... Found a Mariner this morning on kijiji, and now googling around for more info. Theft has been a MAJOR concern of mine in MTL... I've had regular rusted up mountain bikes stolen right off my balcony before, so I'm just curious, what area and time of day, type of lock, locked up to what exactly, etc etc etc... how did it happen? Thanks for any further info on your experience that you can provide. Cheers!

Nice review. What do you think of the Spark Bike Mini?

Just curious, had you looked at the RAD POWER Rad Mini Fat Tire Folder, in comparison, before purchasing the Mariner? Had wanted your comparison thoughts. Also, pretty much all eBikes are at that weight, unless you get a flimsy, more about "Cool Euro Looking" one. Thanks!

does the seat go higher?

What's the need for the hellish clanking twanging noise that's supposed to be music.
