In the dead of winter after a - 40 Celsius ride across Canada in a polar vortex, my new Voltbike Mariner 2019 Edition arrived. Here is my Unboxing and Review.
The new Mariner 2019 has evolved and improved since its first edition. There are other manufacturers making this same style bike but Voltbike seems to be staying ahead by offering better components and features every year.
The Voltbike Mariner folding electric bike features front suspension, improved battery performance and this year they have replaced the back rack with a beefier solid rack and now have an optional front rack that can be purchased separately.
The Mariner is an Ideal electric bike for anyone. This bike can easily be adjusted to fit a broad range of people from a smaller 5 ft 4 woman to a larger 6 ft 3 man. This bike is built to handle someone as heavy as 300 lbs. The easily adjustable seat and handlebar make it comfortable for anyone to ride.

I have a 2018 Voltbike Yukon 750 Limited and love it. I'm amazed at how quiet the motor on the new Mariner is compared to the 2018 model, as you pointed out. Great video! Thanks.

Hello live2ride49. Thanks for commenting. Yes, I was surprised myself from other videos I have seen, how quiet it is. I will be doing a side by side comparison in the coming month with last years Yukon.

After a long debate between the Mariner and the Radmini Step-thru.. I think the Mariner will be my choice.

would like to thank you, as your video was the first time I had seen the Mariner in white. I just received delivery of that version late yesterday, just got it out of the box but not had the chance to check it over. The box arrived in great shape with only slight scrapes on the side.

Thanks for commenting Trev I really do like the white version. But the black is easier to touch up with black primer if it gets scuffed up. I am sure you will enjoy your bike. They are a lot of fun.

Cool. I have tthe white edition also, but I spray painted the fenders white , looks a lot better now.

did you get it delivered to your door for the $49 fee or did you have to pay extra. I was talking to one guy (outskirts of Huntsville) who got a Voltbike and he said he had to pay an additional $30 to get it delivered to his house. First time I've seen a Mariner in white, as they don't show you a photo on their website.

Hello, Trev I was fortunate to have it delivered to a commercial address. But I think when it has to be delivered to a private address the fee is a little more. Call Voltbike and talk to George he will let you know.

@All Ebike hi, are you saying any speed below 50 k/m would not require insurance? I mean 40 to 45 km/h is still above the legal speed limit which is 32 km/h. does that mean a speed over 32 km/h is legal if you pedal assist and the speed 32 km/h is only the limit if you are not pedaling? I already own a similar ebike to the voltbike mariner, a Chinese knock off that I bought on Aliexpress for cheaper price than the mariner . my bike goes over 40 km/h without pedal assisting, so I am always worried the cops can catch me and fine me. I don't know how to change the setting on mine to limit the current and thus limit the speed. The highest setting on my ebike allows speed over 40 km/h so I can reduce my speed somewhat by choosing the lowest pedal assist settings which also controls the speed of throttle only drive mode. I find that having a bike that can throttle over 40 km/h without pedaling is useful because when the voltage starts to drop, the speed of the bike will also drop, so if your top speed is 32 km/ h when the battery is full, then your speed could become like 25 km/h when the battery is half the capacity. on my bike I can maintain 32 km/h even when the battery is almost empty by changing to the highest pedal assist setting which is supposed to drive my bike over 40 km/ h when battery is full and it will give me about 32 km/ h to 34 km/h speed when battery is empty.
