A full step by step guide of the entire installation of Volumio which is one of the most known players for Raspberry Pi. I demonstrate after the installation how to play Tidal tracks via upnp if you don't want to go for paid Volumio subscription and also show you how the actual Tidal native integration works and looks if you decide to pay, then will show you how overall the actual Volumio user interface looks on multiple devices and at the end I make my conclusion, opinion about this player.

I tried Volumio on a pi. Crashes for some reason, and you get dmesg logs, so sticking to runeaudio

My volumio play is on but no sound. Volume symbol seems dim. It doesn't work.

there is a youtube integration inside the volumio browser. In addition to that there are some browser plugins with which you can right click videos and say "send them to volumio"

How does volumion look if u send video from raspberry to tv if u can do that ?

It's okay. I did exactly that with an HD plasma TV and had a wireless mouse and keyboard to navigate on the big screen.

The screens you're showing. . . Are they on a monitor connected to the Raspberry Pi?

No, main screens captured on my main PC, then purposely showing you the UI also on a tablet and on a phone in the video. You can access volumio from any device on the same network via internet browser, you can but you don't need to have connected any screen to the raspberry Pi.

Hi, You never show us how did you get the boot up screen? connect to tv or you need a touch screen for Pi ?? [Also not mentioned in Picoreplayer setup??] 9:08 and how to set up the phone???

You can enable SSH, then directly control and configure Volumio via your browser. The setup documentation has step by step instructions. It takes not more than 15 minutes.

I tried to install on Raspberry Pi B+, and installed successfully. But every time i boot it up i must login for it to work. Is that possible for the volumio autologin every time it's start? Thank you (Sorry for my bad English)

Shame... really wanted to get into this as an alternative to Roon. Looks like there's a lot of room for improvement. Guess I'll wait a couple of years for things for UX and ease of use/installation.

Hi Tech road trip, I really appreciate your videos, they are very informative and you have a nice calming voice. But what is strange to me is even your voice is really calm and the sound quality is good it has some harshness to it which hurting my ears when listening over phone speakers. Not sure what it is, because the SQ is good. AgAin thank you for your videos

No, Volumio does NOT play MQA AS IT SHOULD. take a 24/96 track. Send to Topping E30 such as mine and it Will show you 44.1 khz. That's because Volumio Is NOT a core decoder such as tidal app or Roon, Audirvana or USB player pro. I suspect you need a FULL DECODER DAC, NOT RENDERER to have mqa properly unfolded.
