This is part 1 of a multi part series on Volumio setup and home integration.
Today we are looking at how to setup and start using Volumio on a Raspberry Pi. I cover everything, from flashing the microSD card to adding your music in Volumio.
Both Volumio (volumio.com/en/) and the Raspberry Pi Foundation (www.raspberrypi.org/) provide free to use software solutions. Consider donating to help support free and open software.

So once I connected Pi to a 3.5 inch Waveshare display...no need Pi Os at all...only Pi.img file of Volumio is enough in SD card to run ...???

I did all of this the exact way and it didn't work for me. I flashed Volumio on to the sd chip, stuck it in my raspberry pi 4 and it didn't load on my 5 inch elecrow touchscreen. It runs forever on a white screen. I'm not sure if this screen is compatible?

The screen needs separate Configuration Sir...I have a waveshare facing same issue...refer Core electronics 3.5inch display setup for Pi ...you wud understand...but me too not yet sorted out

Is the network drive connected to a windows pc or is standalone?

The network drive is an smb share on my unraid server. You can setup smb shares in almost any OS and it is the default type of network filing sharing for most home nas's.

This software is so full of bugs and many of the advertised options are behind a pay wall that you quickly move on to other software. In addition, the advertised hardware on which the software should run has increased in price by 300% in the last year. Volumio should first grow out of its infancy.
