can you please make a crash course about how to connect to a steam lobby host player by getting the lobby owner from steam (p2p) ? and also about playfab pleeeeaseee, if you have any documents that would also work
Here's the plan 😁! Someone else asked for an overview of the flow I used to connect to playfab, steam etc. I will probably do a video about it, to explain how I did it. It should be something like a tutorial, but really it's gonna explain how I did it for my project. I did not find a lot of tutorials on that so I think it's important to share the knowledge. Also, keep in mind that this is my first Game Dev project so there might be better ways to do it 😉. Also, I wont cover the p2p aspect because my project is not p2p, sorry about that. In the mean time, if you don't want to wait for the video to be produced, I wrote a detailed walkthrough about my process on my discord server if you want to join 😁
Hey spimort I'm interested in your multiplayer flow with steamworks and playfab. How did you make it work? I see there're plugins for those APIs so maybe you used those... I would love an overview of how you programmed this implementation! Great work as always, your game is really coming together!
Hey thank you so much! 🤩I really appreciate that you find interesting my network flow! To be honest, it was pretty hard to find information about this on the internet so I had to figure out a lot of stuff. I would be happy to share it with others so it's easier to understand the flow I took! Disclaimer tho, I'm not a pro in Game Dev, in fact, this is my first Game Dev project. There might be place for improvement! Ok so here's how I see it, either I do a video about it (sort of a tutorial?) or I could explain it (or answer questions) over discord (you can join my discord server if you want 🙂). Let me know what you would prefer (video might take longer to make)!
@@spimortdev You should definitely do a tutorial on this. I've seen plenty of tutorials covering lobby-matchmaking but an actual deployment to Steam with authentication and a scaleable dedicated server service would be a first. There's a great tutorial by Game Development Center on multiplayer, but again, no deployment. I'll be sure join the discord and ask away in the meantime, though :D
