Thanks, I just came across your videos. I will be performing the same job soon as part of a larger refresh/ upgrade to my 240. I had no idea there was a open hole at the bottom!
FYI, you can replace the strut inserts without taking the whole assembly out and disconnecting the brake lines. You lift the car, remove the wheels, compress the spring w a spring compressor, remove the 24mm nut, then you can push down on the control arm and swing the whole strut tube out from the wheel well. Helps to disconnect the sway bar so the control arm will flex more
Actually, I remembered that incorrectly. It’s alcthally hard to fit the spring compressors in under the car, so you mark the position of the camber plate, then remove those three nuts and push down on the control arm and swing the tube out.

@@81esco Thread on the nut as far as you can and impact gun it. You can also use a wrench and hold tjhe center, usually with a hex socket and tighten it that way.
