Range optimiser helped my xc40 a lot in winter for short trips. I don't know how useful it would be in the range test though. In the RU-vid music settings you can allow to read local songs.
@@alexandersaksvoll5373 except that they wont sell any fossile fueled cars even hybrids by 2030, I've heard thru the grapevine that the XC60 will maby come as a EV by next year for 2024.

@@rangerek yeah and they are so necessary: driving your kids 2km from home to school - to avoid them getting any unnecessary exercise- and then back home, parking front first because they are so difficult to park... that is what the world needs 😎

@@GenerationJake hi I do not say there are not cases in which it makes sense. alrhough a kombi eg is much lore fricient and i dont get why noone builds nEV kombi so far... Model 3 is definitely not built for bigger tadks. but the Model Y eg is like 40-60% more wfficient than this. and 90% of people who buy SUVs do not need them

@@bjornnyland It’s also not a ground up EV so there’s some wasted space there. And the idea with EVs (well any car really) is to make them as light and aerodynamic as possible within the confines of design and budget. That’s hard to do with a transmission tunnel and an bonnet length big enough to hold an engine.
How much range was lost with the winter tires? Never actually checked on any car I have owned, but the increased road noise definitely means less efficient performance with winter tires.
If you by "Chinese" car ment "a car by Chinese owners" that's correct, but you mean "a car made in China", like the Polestar 2, you are wrong. Both the XC40 and the C40 are made in Belgium.
The Volvo C40 in Thailand is made in China Factory, and Thailand-China has 0% import Tax scheme. But... I saw some comments that the C40 from Thailand will start being made in Malaysia. not sure if true or not.
This is coming from a guy who owned 8 Volvos since 2009, last one V90 D5 Inscription sold it last year in October for Enyaq 80x, but C40, my god this thing is so ugly. That in combination with such high consumption at higher speeds, I really don’t know what Volvo was thinking and why the heck were they hyping up this car so much. They are so far behind, not just Tesla, but Germans, Koreans, Chinese, it’s embarrassing.

Volvo needs to stop this nonsense and focus more on developing a real EV, they were hyping up this car so much for last two years, but it's still 4-5 years old fossil car platform with extremely high consumption. I was hoping for something more from Volvo as I really consider myself Volvo nerd, but I don’t think we’ll see any real EVs from Volvo in next coming 4-5 years.
These CMA cars have permanent mag motors front and rear and cannot be decoupled like Teslas or Hyundai/Kias at highway speeds. That fact, the weight and aerodynamics of a brick shithouse keeps them from getting decent range. They need to address this on future models.
The Polestar 2 is a much better value proposition if you do not need the extra space imo and it looks so much better. I really do not like the blue interior in this version but I guess that can be changed.
I found the cabin of the polestar 2 too cramped. I was gutted, as the drive and the exterior of the polestar 2 is fantastic. Just couldn't live with the restricted feeling in the driver's seat. Plus on my work lease deal I get more toys on the Volvo than the polestar 2 for the same money.
@@eirik22 I talked to a guy at one of the Polestar spaces this week. He stated that Polestar is selling the P*2 at cost until they can improve name recognition/market share. Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if they are even losing a little money on them due to supply chain cost increases. At any rate, I don't have the impression that they are going to change their prices based on what Tesla does. From what I've read, they are competing more with Porsche than Tesla.
For quite a lot of people long drives at 120km/h is not relevant, especially for daily commute. I really love the motorized trailer hitch and it beats the ModY solution by miles that you need to dick around to connect through a hole looking like someone went crazy with a chainsaw. Also it looks like a serious car, not like a VW beetle presented in 16:9. Will probably not rust into bits after 10 years either.
Jesus, man, the bz4x looks absolutely horrible. Who would be caught dead in that thing? Okay, okay, maybe Prius owners...but really Toyota couldn't have made a worse looking vehicle if they'd hired the designer of the Aztec.
Could some owners share their City range ? like 30-60mph? I only found highway range tests, but no city tests. I have an MG ZS EV, but the range sux... I get 125miles 20-90% (160-180Wh/km) But I'm looking for something that can do 200 miles 20-90% in the City. Not to mention all the issues and time spend in the service center for the MG ZS EV. What a bad luck car... the battery is also a lot smaller, 44kWh

@@bjornnyland mmm…. Off the top of my head the wltp consumption for a model 3 is 116Wh/km. That’s probably 15% than you have tested which is probably 70km less than wltp range. If you want to do a wltp comparison then why not drive a simulated wltp route or just call it highway/autobahn range
Incorrect. Your math is off. Model 3 LR WLTP is 602 km. And the battery has 75-76 kWh net capacity. That equals to 125-126 Wh/km. I haven't done a summer range test of that battery yet. But in Thailand I managed to drive 600 km in something similar to 90 km/h test. And on earlier Model 3 LR tests, 125 Wh/km is easy to achieve in summer. And don't forget that previous gen Model 3 SR+ with 52.6 kWh net capacity averaged 118 Wh/km and had a range of 443 km in the 90 km/h test. WLTP for that model was 448 km. You totally missed the whole point with my test. I *never* claimed that my test is WLTP. Other people watching my video also never claim this. Some actually call it TBTP. I know what WLTP is.

I would have bought a C40 but with the new conflict in Ukraine, where China will not report clearly about where China stands as far as Russia, I dare not buy the car, as China can get restrictions, and if the car breaks down, it can suddenly not be fixst
