tear down of original volvo engine , lets see whats found!
episode 5 , the final episode of the engine replacement. it was cheaper and potentially easier to change the engine for a good used. which worked a treat.

Interesting tear down! Very helpful to see the "anatomy" of this engine before diving into one.

Thanks for the teardown video and the time it took to make it. I've got the same motor that has some issues so it was good to see how it comes apart. Thanks again..

This was painful! Unfortunately I think I have purchased a similar engine! I appreciate seeing what the inside of a "cooked" engine looks like. I'm not sure if it makes sense to invest in another one 😟. Good job!

White blocks are very durable engines, looks like this one suffered from lubrication negligence.

unfortunately I don't know what the history behind the engine all I know is there was a succession of problems , and lead me to find a good used one. which was subsequently installed.

@@StatusFIX I would hope so that it was in fact due to negligence of oil changing that did it for this one because I just bought a c30 with 97k miles and it kinda burns oil but I'm pretty positive that someone had floored it more than once.

@reallyhappenings5597 2 года назад
@@christianhudspeth3338 Nothing wrong with flooring it once warm -- or even cold with high quality synthetic oil!
@christianhudspeth3338
@christianhudspeth3338 2 года назад
@@reallyhappenings5597 I say that because there's exhaust gases leaking into my coolant somehow. I strongly suspect it's the head gasket with how slow the leak is. I've had to top it off just about every week or so. I've already gotten the parts in to gasket up the top end of the motor.

Use synthetic at regular 3-5k oil changes, and keep your pvc system healthy? Reminds me of a neglected and sludge'd up SAAB 2.3 engine

This 2.0 liter version of the T5 engine is apparently quite revvy since the stroke is shorter. Did you compare it to a 2.3?

Hi , I have a 2007 Ford Focus ST 2.5L Turbo (B5254T3) . I am looking for bearing clearances for Big End and Main Bearings, as well as torque specs for these bearings. Are you able to assist or direct me to where i could find these.
@StatusFIX
@StatusFIX 4 года назад
hi , usually the bearing clearances are usually matched with the crank shells , if it's been ground by a machine shop. , or do you mean plasty gauging the crank and mains and checking the clearances that way ? ? , the torque settings I might be able to get for you.
@sheldonmarillier9800

hi normally with a plasty gauge set , there is a key which shows what sqush is acceptable , when the mains or big end is bolted down. bare with on the torque settings and ill see what I can find for you it won't be until tomorrow.

Hello I recommend you post the question on Swedespeed.com This is specifically the AWD&FWD section. The S60Rs and newer S60s all have the 2.5L engines that you have.

what I don't think I mentioned in any of the videos is I changed the oil previously. that's why it's clean. but when I changed the oil it very metally , aswell as the oil filter. , every engine is different so yours may go have gone up to that amount of millage , but this one had a hard life before I owned it. , I do believe it was cooked at one stage which I think I said in this video too
