The best is the Seal mass on the gasket, next time to clean it up, while it sticks on, will make the guy who is doing it, speak about you loud... Use just some grease, that is enough... No scratching no sealing problem in future...
In My xc60 d5 2015 I connected LED with rezistor to one of glow plugs. Positive to glow plug and negatiw to the engine. LED on the other end of a cable mounted inside cabin. When DPF regeneration take time LED is lighting and I know not to turn off the engine. Glow plugs are working at the time of DPF regeneration. Working wery well for last 6 months.
i carnt lock the camshat pully with a tool mine dosnt have the 4 little bolts just the centre nut , how else can i lock it when need to torx it up at the end ???
Great video! I really liked the idea about yellow marker to now how much you had turned the bolts already. But isn't there any camsaft pulley sync fine tuning afterward needed by the larger holes in the camsaft pulley? I have done some VAG motors and with the new belts the timing was always off altough the belt and pulleys teeth matched because of the differences in belts. Fine tuning needed some diagnostic equipment wich allowed you to see the actual timing.
Great walk through video. Thank you so much. One question - you jack up the car on the side-jackup-point - BUT you also jack-up the engine to some point - where? - guess it is because you have to loosen the engine-mounts on the top - right ?
Do you remember what tools is needed? 30mm socket 13mm socket 17 or 19mm for engine mount 10mm for wster pump. What about tensioner? Any special tools like hex or T60 or torks? Thanks
How to bleed the cooling system. Because you replaced the water pump. Is there a nipple to bleed? Example at the top of the engine. Or self-vent. I heard that this engine only works with a vacuum device. Can you tell me exactly how you bled.
I think there is a nipple somewhere, cant really remember. If not i just rev the engine with cap off and fill. Then bring some cooland with me and fill up until coolant level stops lowering and it seems to bleed itself during some days
First of all, I forgot that you made a great video. There really isn't anything for venting. Self deflated. In the direction of travel right at the top of the radiator is a nipple that can be removed. That way you can vent something beforehand. Then self vent. Today I let the engine run for almost 30 minutes at the stand in the garage. Gas pedal often to 4000 rpm. But fan does not turn on. Temperature constant at 90 degrees Celsius. I'll be driving on the freeway tomorrow. Great video again.@@kristofferh2137
I never leave the timing and aux belts and pulleys go beyond 60,000 miles on my D5s and D3. For the sake of a couple of hundred GBP, its not worth the risk. Ive had a timming belt come off on a D5, the car was scrap. The Aux belt should be done to, if it jumps the tracks, it can foul the timing belt. The heads are vertically bored, not worth fixing.
@@kristofferh2137 yes i understand. 1 jack under the wheel side. and the jack too pump up the engine to remove mount? but can this be done despite only have one side of the car up, i see others doing it with both wheels off the ground.
Hello friend, I have a volvo XC60 D5 2015 and I need to change the timing belt and I would like to see if you could help me with a technical manual with the correct position of the crankshaft pulley. att: Marcio / Brazil RS.
hi, you can only put it in one position on the shaft, its a hole and a sprint. or if you mean rotation position of shaft you can se it in 4:08 in around 11o'clock, there is two notches that line up
