Volvo EX90 Interior problems!

The new Volvo EX90 was introduced and as a person who loves to design and also likes how Volvo interiors are done, with the Volvo EX90 I have to question what they were thinking,
So my plan is simple, re-design the interior and actually do justice to what Volvo is known for when it comes to their interior!

I would honestly say that for me I am not that good in 3D to create that hahaha, that requires more 3D knowledge then I have because I need to then have blueprints haha.

The EX 90 dashboard was designed by Sweden 🇸🇪 vehicles designer. The dashboard is simetrical smooth compare to Lexus model like Nx, Rx, and Rz pure electric. Where the lexus dashboard is cramp and move towards the drive/ cockpit area. Telsa 3 doesn't even have speedometer only a large tablet in the middle.

Yes, but the interior just doesn't look nice, Volvo has and can do mucccch better

Mate I think the problem is in yourself. You just stuck in the past, with an old interior styles. The new Volvo looks amazing.

@@Conceptcreator You think like that. ok, but....I do not think so. Look at your design that you offer. In fact, there is no difference between the new Volvo design and yours. Even though you said yourself that you can't stand those big iPad-like monitors. the only difference between your design is you just put the same monitor inside. Don't like dash board? and you put there an old dashboard with a speedometer and a tachometer, without thinking that this is an all-electric car. Although it was an example, it doesn’t matter if you don’t like something and you decide to come up with your own, but it’s 98% similar to the new one, with the same monitor .... dude, this is no longer a design, but some kind of whim

@@B_Erdes I agree. While the rendering is top notch, I prefer the Swedish concept of minimalism and what is really needed. I felt the concept in this video is just taking what is today and giving it a face lift. I don’t know if the new tech used by Volvo may have influenced or limit some interior design constraints.

I have to agree with you - I think the EX90 interior looks so much better than this render. I’ve got a 2021 XC90 T8, love the car but it desperately needs a serious update inside - the renders basically look like the current XC90 which was designed in 2014. Very old fashioned.

Looks good, just don't like all the buttons, I prefer also the floating interior of the car. But one thing I saw that designers are always struggling with engineering to keep the original design but they always have to do some conceptions and usually change the design for that. So you can imagine whatever you want and look it's so pretty , but when you are going to mount things...

It looks much better i dont like all screan and in my opinion its less save do to you have to take your eyes of the road longer like the volvo v60 and v40 out of 2015 i love the most now a days more and more get lazy and just put a screan

1) Akin to paddle shifters, the speedometer NEEDS to be on the same vicinity of the steering column so you never cover up the wheel for certain reach/tilt adjustment

2) any design too far from hand's reach is bad design.

3) Akin to using the base of your palm /hypothenar eminence PLANTED ON the surface you write on, for capacitive screens where you no longer can rest your fingertip lightly before you actually engage 'a press/click/tap', users like myself now ANCHOR an adjacent finger(s) on one of the screen EDGES to stabilize the FINGERTIP for an accurate point and tap /swipe /slide.

I hate AIM & CLICK so much that I try to use macros and shortcuts whenever possible to make clicks precise, fast and 100% reliable .

Think of the old ventilation sliders: you don't just hold that knob or pointer without resting some other part of that hand on an adjacent part of the console for precise selection of what you intend to do. If you had inconsistent mechanical resistance /friction it will likely drive you nuts. If it had near zero resistance /engagement feedback, it's even more frustrating due to lack of biomechanical feedback, and sadly the latter is EXACTLY what capacitive touch screen clicks feels like regardless of any fancy haptic feedback systems.

Honestly if I were you I would %100 work with Volvo on this email them or something? This would be great as a refreshed hybrid/ice version although I would’ve kept the same steering wheel with physical climate buttons and then wollah!

I would love to work with Volvo, but realistically, I have no degrees that they are probably looking for. And yeah the whole new electric designs just don't have any karakter:(

Agree with you about DIY and double sided tape. It is ugly and lazy. Volvo's speedometer looks like it will give you glimmers during driving. I also hate black glossy plastic everywhere. I think your design looks much better and expensive. Especially the logo in the wheel. Hope you will make more videos like this not only about cars.

thank you so much for the kind words first of all! And yeah nothing to add to your comment! I just don't like this side of Volvo because it simply isn't them... Polestar do their own thing even though I don't agree but I have less connection with that design approach from Volvo with their interior. And when you say more videos like this not only about cars, what kind of videos do you mean then? :) Just curious!

Analyze an IKEA chair, improve the design of Dutch bicycle, suggest the all features included design of iPhone case, foldable computer mouses reviews and ideas for your own. It's just cool to hear your ideas, that there is someone saying things every reviewer is blind about
