In this video I demonstrate how to remove a Common Rail HP pump from a Volvo Penta D4 Diesel, I also show the tools needed to remove the gear from the HP pump and finally the Cam timing pins
Very informative. My D6-350/DPH engine shut off while underway, and will only keep running if the primer bulb is continuously pumped. Vodia showed 500 psi when cranking. Is there a chance the the pressure limiting valve is bad, or is this more likely to be the pump itself? Access is tricky, as this is a port-side engine.
Hello sir, I have D4 260 Volvo Penta and hard starting, check fuel system and it's good, just replace 1 and 3 fuel injectors and it's run fine, after few runs it is hard starting now, any ideas sir?
Hello i have Penta D4-225 and my High pressure pump have been leacking, i see youre video and wonder how in the end i should put engine in position! those pins you have to look kam shaft, if its not in position how should i change? And also i have not change my pump, could i not just put it back?
Just subscribed. I have a TAMD74EDC. I’d message you directly if I could. Maybe you could direct me on one of your videos how to diagnose a possible fueling issue. Recently did a complete service on the engines. They Only have 600 hours. 2000 model Trojan boat. Problem - boat had been running perfect. Out of nowhere on the way back to the marina i started to spool up. About the time I hit 1500 rpms it started fading out.. Was chugging and eventually died. Really acted like it was starving for fuel. After it died it would not come back. Temps were fine. no buzzers going off. no codes when Turing on ignition. Racor filters looked perfect in the glass. No signs of water. 1. Any chance of a Volvo fuel filter collapsing or shutting down w/ possible water in fuel? 2. Best way to check fuel pressure w/ out any special tools? Thanks for any help. Jon
