Correct process is: Sandpaper should be used of 500, then 800, then 2000 with the drilling machine at 450-600 rpm. Polish at the final should be applied at 900-1000 rpm. Headlights will be fully restored.
I am waiting on a new pair from amazon..about $300. Looking forward to it, I hope they are great. Cool vid, I love a DIY! I might go try this with my sander on the older ones!! Why not right!
Man. I have been looking everywhere for how to clean the INSIDE of these headlights... There is a lot of smudge there and I can't seem to open it to reach from the inside...
props, yeah that happens to every car around the world. When ya clean them like that the car looks new as well so its a Double WIn. Maybe just start with the compound next time. And hell yeah removing the light from the XC is CRAZY Eeeeeezeeee
hi, one of mine has gunk on the inside too, i know that my discovery headlight can go in the oven for 7 minutes or something and it melts the glue. you can then pull the lens off and get to the inside. when finished u simply re glue and bake again to cure it!! ill find out the time and temp and try it on my vovlo light
I havnt done this on my xc90 yet, but on my grand prix i had to pry the headlight housing apart to do the inside, it came apart ok but then i had to use a silicon type adhesive/sealant to get it back together again.
