You just made the best sounding front engined V10 😎, I'm seriously fucking impressed Peter, you truly are a underrated engineer!I don't know weather you read my comment on your first drive video at the start of StreetWeek when you asked if any ideas about improving exhaust sound... I'm commenting half way through this video and trying to guess what you did (all I can think now is you modified a Lambo stock exhaust muffler to fit near the Volvo or replicated the resonation in a custom made muffler) Now the Volvorghini sound is honestly like an LFA & Lambo exhaust note and the LFA is not an exhaust note as I said before as in videos its 95% times a microphone inside the cabin recording the Yamaha acoustics system that is amplified through the firewall into the cabin ... The large displacement & exotic car community needs a product that works !!! I am certain that if every shit sounding V10/12 owner gets to hear the Volvoghini, they will be interested in your product as every aftermarket 10-20 US grand exhaust for M5 V10, RS8 or Dodge Viper or Euro V12s don't sound even half as good as the Volvoghini, infact it souds way better than the Huracan to my musician ears ... R8s also piss weak sound. So tell me when and I'm coming to Sweden hehe, we can show Akrapovic they are mediocre!

So far the best swap I've seen, outside and internal looks are amazing! The sound is key on!

Cool, at lower revs its got the 5 cylinder sound. At high revs, insane! Glorious howl, never heard a Lambo scream like that

Hey Peter , If you experience any vibration while driving this is probably due to a slightly wrong configuration of the driveshaft. Like it is right now it will vibrate if the middle joint has any sort of angle . U joints don't transmit a continuous motion (like a CV) , they rather transmit a elliptical movement so so say and need a second u joint operating in the exact opposite angle to cancel this out . So either you need all CVs or two ujoints in the correct phasing and angle . There is a great demonstration video on yt if you search for "driveshaft angle and phasing " U-joint or CV is determined by the product of rpm x angle which can't be over like 12000 for a CV or it will burn up .

Sounds great Peter. There's no doubt the length has a huge impact on the sound. I believe the distinct sound of the WRX boxer engine is due to unequal length primaries. I've heard them when they've had an equal length aftermarket system installed and they sound much more like a normal 4 cylinder.

Far from an expert on exhausts, but what I've heard that to find the correct spot for the X-joint you first run it with same length dual pipes all the way back and use a heat camera or sensor to find a hot-spot close to where the joint should be. This is where the pressure is high and you'll want the X-joint. Probably not for sound but for low back pressure, but probably won't hurt for the sound either. Most certainly more ppl here have more knowledge about this and could fill in the details or correct me. Love the mix of exotic engines, pro-grade mechanics with biltema budget, half failing components elsewhere.

Equal length headers and exhaust will make a much smoother and pleasant sound. Just make sure you muffle it enough to get rid of any rasp.

The cross section on the exhaust from my experience (us v8) helps alot with torque, it usually requires adjustments on the fuelmix afterwards, in your case mapping. As for sound it usually kills sound a bit as it evens out the ignitions, but with your engine being more cylinders, and higher rew maybe none of this applies. Great update Peter!

Elongated x-pipe is very good replacement instead of equal length headers etc. I would highly suggest it 👍

Oh damn it ends at the X pipe, wow ...That is the best sounding FR V10 on youtube man !!! experiment cutting at the X but I think you lucked out as is, I presonally doubt it will get a better tone ... Really looking forward to the next video buddy... good luck

Just take the original gasket, scan it with a regular printer/scanner and order some laser cut gaskets made from desired material.

another good video 👌 I have bought the exact same cut out, be aware that they don’t given it loctite, so it can rattle apart (speaking from experience)
